While in town for the weekend I found time to meet up with some old friends and they suggested the Vig for lunch. I was blown away. The food was excellent. I had a short rib sandwich that melted in my mouth. There isn't a ton of seating but we only waited about ten minutes for something to open up. Everything was delicious. I. Love. It. Here. Sunday's are my favorite and I love the time of year they do "locals only" from 12-4. Brunch food is fantastic and the mimosas are good, of course. This place used to be amazing 2 years ago. Came here with a big party and was seated outside even though there was so much open seating inside. My family and I were swarmed with flies while trying to eat. It wasn't their fault with the flies but with open seating inside, it was unacceptable. The portions are so so tiny now. We ordered a salad to share and it was in a tiny cup. The burger was mediocre and tacos barely fit in the palm of your hand. Overall, disappointing experience and would not go back. read more

What a hidden gem this place is which was built out of a small historic house!! They kept all of the charm and added so much more with a great outdoor bar, seating area and play area. From the moment we walked into this place we could smell the flavor and quality of the food. For starters we had the nachos that were to die for. For my meal I had the steak salads which I devoured, my wife had the Asian salad which she love and the kids Mac and cheese was thoroughly enjoyed. The beer list was full of great option. There was a hair in my friends burger which was a bit awful but the management was friendly enough and comp'd her burger. She went to the restroom to clean her hands and there wasn't any soap. Working downtown has its dining limitations. But I love that they offer their whole menu for pick up (or delivery). Its a treat to order a good lunch every once in awhile. I use the app to order and just a short walk over to pick it up. I have dined in once for a work lunch and service, We did have a whole hour and used it and then some. But the service I have received using their pick up option has been great! Its always ready (but not sitting there) when I pick up and I have been giving everything I need (utensils, sauce, etc) and orders have always been correct!   I definitely will keep this in my lunch rotation and hope to try and venture out on the menu with more items. read more

The Vig is my favorite restaurant after three work trips to downtown Phoenix. The hostess didn't show any sign of annoyance after we kept wanting to add people and moving tables three times. The outdoor patio is where you should be; it is super spacious. The servers did a great job running in and out making sure that we had everything. I ordered the black bean burger, which was so good I was dubious that it was vegetarian. The calamari is also worth ordering. read more

Been coming back a few weeks in a row and most of the staff by the bar recognizes me and my girlfriend already. The staff and waiters are absolutely so sweet and attentive. The food here is fantastic, especially their menu items for happy hour. Their wings are so delicious. They're grilled and have a very nice smoke flavor to them. The edamame are great as well and tasty with the garlic soy marinade they're in. The pork sliders are awesome as well but the bottom bun gets soggy immediately from the coleslaw. Their house cocktails are all phenomenal. They're all well balanced, tasty and boozy. Personal favorite is their mango margarita they make. Definitely check this place out and this exact location. Why do I keep coming here? This location always seems to disappoint. Came here Saturday night before going to a show at The Van Buren. Four of us arrived a little before 7 and asked for a table inside. A really hot and humid night. Hostess assured us no more than 20-30 minutes wait. Great! Went to their outside bar to grab some apps and drinks. 2 guys ordered 2 IPA drafts. Although they have taps outside, they have to go inside to get it. Takes time. The ladies got wine, humus and charcuterie board. We were served timely, and ordered additional beers. But the ladies were never asked about more wine. They never received more. The food which needs to be eaten on bread came with a few slices. Ordered more and it never came. Although we were having a good time with friends it was Africa hot outside. We realized an hour had gone by and no text from the hostess. I walked over and she said she was trying to boot a table but no dice right then. About 20 minutes later, as our bread finally arrived, we were shown to a four in a row top bar table facing the front window. Unusual for a "table". We had some more friends show up. It's a tight space next to the kitchen so we always had to move out of the way for servers. Our suspicions were confirmed when a sever asked if we were waiting for a table. No time to eat dinner, we left to make our show time. 2 hours, some drinks and apps for $120 and no dinner or table, as well as a lot of sweating. Although the hostess did try her best, meaning she felt bad and sat us at a less than attractive bar top, there won't be a next time. Done with the Vig. read more

I was in Phoenix with some friends one weekend back in October and we were looking for bottomless brunch. We had a hard time finding one the morning of so we decided to just try the Vig Fillmore since their drinks were cheap (at least compared to NYC - not sure what the prices are usually like in Phoenix!) It was raining that morning so we couldn't sit outside (their outdoor seating area looked really cute!!) but the interior decor was really cute and home-y. I will be honest and say I don't remember what entreé I got but I do remember enjoying it. We also each got our own champagne bottle and got juices on the side so we can make our own mimosas!! So it was basically bottomless brunch for us :p Also must add, we were all SO SURPRISED when the tab came -- the bill was SO CHEAP. Again, don't know if that's normal in Phoenix or not but I definitely would not mind enjoying a brunch like that for that price!! Went here after a Mariners vs DBack game this summer. Nestled on a corner lot in downtown Phoenix this place seems to be a goto local hangout. There is indoor and outdoor seating and ample bar seating. The menu has several options including GF. Our group of 5 had Mac-N-cheese, shrimp tacos, GF shrimp scampi, small mixed salad with steak for protein and nachos. The kitchen prepared our food fast and we were impressed with the flavor. The side salad was small (which was perfect) for us and the steak was delicious. We had no complaints. Ambiance: This place has outdoor and indoor seating, with an outdoor bar and TVs for those who are interested in some outdoor seating on a warmer night. I definitely think this place is more romantic at night, with all the string lights around the restaurant. Food: I saw the pictures on Yelp and I couldn't resist ordering the Mac & Cheese with Short Ribs added. It was not a mistake! The short ribs were very tender and juicy, it went perfectly with the mac & cheese. I asked for it baked, which made the mac on top a bit crispier. It was awesome! We also got the steak and fries, which I thought wasn't as good as the short ribs mac & cheese. One of the friends in the group couldn't eat beef but wanted the bleu cheese burger, and was able to substitute the beef patty for a crispy chicken with no extra charge! I was also able to bring in a cake to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday without having some absurd cake cutting fee, which I really appreciated. Loved the food and ambiance here at the Vig Fillmore, and would definitely be coming back for another celebration! read more

First time here and its definitely not going to be the last. I actually can't wait to go back and try out the brunch menu. I went for dinner and it was definitely busy. If you have never been here keep in mind it's in a neighborhood so parking was definitely hard to get. I was lucky to get a parking spot across the street and walked over about 5 houses which wasn't bad. We did wait about 25 minutes to get seated but we were in no hurry. The vibe in here is cool. Hip Bar/Restaurant. The crowd is young. downtown spot to grab a bite to eat and a cool drink. Special family recipe of Pozole was very tasty. The portion is large and very sharable. They were kind to split into 2 bowls. Trifecta sliders with choice of fries: sweet potato or regular. Served with curry mayo. Again nice and savory. Honestly I was excited for this place and given that it had vegan options, I really wanted to give them a try. My review is mainly on the vegan options or should I say lack of. The guacamole was really lacking flavor, I felt like I needed some salt and some lime to add to it. The pineapple really didn't do anything to it. THey do fry their food with the same oil as the animal products so if that's a problem l, you won't be able to eat the chips or fries. I had the harvest salad and it was just too sweet. Everything in it was sweet so I found myself needed something else to cut the sweetness. The service was great and my husband did say his burger was tasty. Now they do have a black bean burger that can substitute their animal based burgers but I did not try that so I can't comment on it. For the price and the taste, I didn't find it was worth it. Maybe I'll try their cauliflower tacos next time I come but for this visit the vegan option I had was not great. I would really like to give them another chance because I truly appreciate restaurant that try to have some vegan options. read more

Two of my friends recently got engaged and a group of us met up here to celebrate. I must say I was thoroughly impressed by the customer service by our server!!!! (sorry forgot his name) :(. It was almost scary how good he was at his job...LOLOLOLOL!!! Right when I was down to 1 spoonful left of my dessert he appeared (seemingly out of a secret floor hatch) to ask if he could take the plate away. Talk about customer service and attentiveness. Maaaaaannnnnn somebody earned their tip tonight!!! I kind of don't want to visit the others Vig locations cuz I don't want anything to mess up the experience I had during tonight's visit. For food all I ordered was dessert and a drink. The Moscow Mule made with Tito's went down real smooth. For dessert I had the mason jar mud pie. Usually, desserts tend to be overly sweet, but this was not. It had the perfect ratio of ice cream to chocolate cake to whipped cream and begs you to come back for more until the last spoonful passes your lips. Even though I didn't order an entree I can say the sweet potato fry and stole from my friends plate was fantastic and whatever dip they serve with it needs to be bottled and sold separately. I also took a big whiff of my other friend's pozole (the red one) and it smelled amaaaaaazzzzing. Next time I will definitely order that soup! All in all our group enjoyed ourselves and plan to visit again soon. read more

I asked what time they stopped serving and she said midnight. It seemed this was not for another 3 hours.....odd. But she gave us the menus and told us to seat ourselves. Thanks for that helpful interaction. We ordered the ahi tuna salad. The tuna was average and a little overdone. The dressing was way too spicy. It overpowered everything and made it difficult to taste the veggies. Would have been nice if they add some cranberries or something sweet. Also had the broccoli appetizer which was OK. The brussels sprouts were Ok. Neither was outstanding. This one gets the big MEH. read more
