This was our third time dining at The Vig. The other two times we've dined here, the service and food were exceptional! However, this experience was very subpar. Our server was kind, but we waited 27 minutes for our appetizer of wings to come out without any explanation from our server. We had to flag down our server to go check on our food and when she came back she said they had made the wrong order and were correcting it. Okay, no problem. I totally understand that mistakes happen. We waited another 5 minutes for the wings to finally appear. I assume this was a manager who brought out the wings who told us that they had made a mistake once again. When our entrees arrived, we noticed that one of the burgers was severely burnt. We had asked for it to be well-done but it was burnt, completely crisp, and we didn't finish it. Throughout our dining experience, we were not checked upon to see if we wanted any drink refills or if we would like to order anything else. In fact, when it came time for us to settle our bill, we had to flag down the manager who brought out our wings, who said nothing to us, who then sent our server out to settle the bill. We told her then that the burger was burnt and we didn't finish it. The only offer from our server for our poor experience and service was to have the drink that was never refilled, comped. She asked us if the manager had comped our wings, to which we said no. Overall, it was a poor experience both from a customer service and food service perspective. There were multiple opportunities where an apology or service recovery could have occurred and didn't. For this reason, I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

First I would like to say we changed our reservation from 14 to 8 and changed the time from 5:45 to first available which was around 5 So we were extremely happy they were able to accommodate us considering it was graduation day and was expected to be very busy. We sat at the bar for a drink and the bartender was friendly and we ordered the flying high Cadillac margaritas. They were pre mixed and they were actually pretty good. We had patio setting and the weather was getting a little warm but they had fans and misters so it was comfortable. The wait staff was very attentive and advised that there was a problem with the bar as they had to change out the premix so the drinks were delayed. We ordered our food and the order came out and the food was very good. We ordered the prime rib, tacos, fish and chips and chicken. The food was well prepared and was very good. The only complaint was that the patio had so many flies buzzing the tables that it was more than annoying. The waiter brought over a few bug fans that helped but I'm not sure how much. I think it would have been better if we could have gotten a seat inside. We have eaten at other vig restaurants and have never been disappointed. read more

It's the inconsistency with this place, you can come one day and it's great and you can come a different day and it's not great at all. Wings were cold so that was pretty gross, sweet potatoes were all burnt, chicken was hard and overcooked last time we come here. read more

So my mom and boyfriend had the rock fish tacos and both of them were very sick after eating the tacos. I had the salmon which is pretty good. However, a little concerned (not offended) that I was asked if I wanted my salmon medium done... of course I said please cook my salmon throughly thank god I did cause my mom and boyfriend are currently going through it . We just had lunch at The Vig- Parkwest and the entire experience was amazing. The staff was incredibly nice, accommodating, and helpful without us needing to ask anything. I visited The Vig at Park West for Happy Hour today. It stated that white wine was $7 per glass. I requested a Chardonnay and the server brought it. When the bill came, I questioned why my wine was $12. He explained that because on Tuesdays, the only "white" wine that was $7 was Pinio Grigio. No one stated that The Vig had specific types of wines discounted on specific days. The manager refused to discount my wine. This truly was misrepresentation and very wrong! I've been to the Vig downtown and it's really good. But The Vig nestled in Park West, a really great spot, is very very nice! It was packed so we sat at the bar and just enjoyed our time. We drank a bit haha but dinner was fantastic. Park West is a cool place and The Vig is particularly good. There is an outdoor patio that was quite popular that evening even in the middle of the desert summer. The interior and decor is appealing, tables, nooks and a well stocked bar. read more

They so kindly took two dollars off of it. No Chardonnay on the happy hour menu. I ordered a salad asked for no dressing on the salad. it came with the dressing on the salad. Derek showed up several minutes later and said" oops I guess they put the salad dressing on your salad" I've been to this location now multiple times. Never been impressed. I am struggling with how to start this review. A group of us moms decided (6 of us) to celebrate one of the moms since it was her birthday. Another mom reserved dinner on Open Table (which I've done many times but NEVER had this problem, even with the busiest restaurants). We were waiting to get a birthday cake for our friend and started to finish the rest of our food and drinks. The general manager came by thinking she's doing her normal check in as some GMs do. She started to grab plates and take them away and then she said "we have another reservation in 10 minutes" and rushed off. I asked our server what that was about. She didn't know. So I decided to talk to the GM and told her that it was uncalled for and unprofessional of her to tell us that she has another reservation waiting. I said we reserved it, but said rudely (mind you I took her aside and didn't make a scene) "well you reserved it on Open Table" (as if we should be treated less since we reserved it on Open Table). She said, there's a 2 hr time frame. I said I didn't know that or saw she interrupted rudely and said "well I read it, it's open table". I reminded her that the birthday cake was not sent yet and we asked for it prior and several times. Then she said, well we can move you. Why would we take all our drinks and some of our food to another table. There's 6 of us. I said well we will wait for the cake and leave. I would it give more stars because our sever was the hero and told us to take our time. The GM really needs to work on her manners. This is the last time we'll step foot into that place. I ordered the Pozole and it was so good!! Worth every single bite! The downside was we didn't make a reservation so we sat outside on the patio in the late afternoon. The misters were on but none faced our table. So be prepared people! The worst thing on the dessert menu was the flourless chocolate cake. So yuck! If that is your only dessert option, then skip dessert unless of course you like wet cocoa powder drizzled in runny Hershey's syrup. This was my first time at any Vig location and have to say the inside was beautiful and very inviting but it was a little dark inside. How do people read the menus like that? Wish I would have taken pics of the food. My friend ordered the salmon on some risotto with veggies. She said it was not that great. I guess she had it before they changed the menu. Why do they not serve cold water? There may have been ice in the glass jug at one time but when I got it the iced was nowhere to be seen and on a hot day the lukewarm water was not so appetizing. I would have ordered a drink but our waiter was pretty busy. So next time make reservations ahead of time, order the pozole, skip the dessert, and waive someone down for a cold drink. read more

We went for happy hour. I had the tacos and my husband had the sliders. He said his was great. My tacos were good but they are 2 street tacos. We also had the pretzel. It was light on salt and the two side dippers were excellent. We had the pretzel because we ended up sitting there so long because of the pleasant atmosphere. Three of us went to celebrate a birthday. First of all, it's a beautiful restaurant. BRAVO to your interior designer!! EVERYBODY we came into contact with was cute and ever-so-pleasant. The food was beautifully presented, and IT WAS GOOD! I had the Tuna Tartare. Lots of really good, fresh tuna, and goodies and just enough dressing. And NO filler (like rice) to make it look like more than it was. My friends had the Kale Ceasar and the Mediterranean Salads. Both were beautiful and tasted great. And said they had no tables available when it was a Thursday and again was empty Seriously 3) again seating outside or at high top table when the place was empty. We try to support your location but I get the feeling you don't want to succeed. It's a shame I love your other location. Love the Vig, just not this one. The atmosphere is nice and warm. But the food is not even close to what we've come to expect from the Vig. We've been to most of the other locations over the years and it's one of our favorite spots. Maybe it's just an off night in the kitchen but it was disappointing to say the least. Crisp Calamari appetizer was not crisp and not hot. And as chewy as a rubber band. Calamari does have a little bite, but if cooked properly it's not like gnawing on an inner tube as it was tonight. We ordered the steak frites, a nice little dish normally. The fries were soggy and limp. The steak was close to rare, fair amount of grizzle and had virtually no flavor. It's supposed to have chimichurri on it. I detected none. And the side salad was a pile of weeds. To their credit, they did take the calamari off and our bartender was pleasant if not very fast at making cocktails. May give it another try because we do really like the place and want it to succeed. Just not up to par yet for this venerable valley spot. Better luck next time! read more
