We just had lunch at The Vig- Parkwest and the entire experience was amazing. The staff was incredibly nice, accommodating, and helpful without us needing to ask anything. Our server, Micho C, was AWESOME! He checked in on us multiple times throughout our visit to make sure we had everything we needed and interacted so well with our kids. I've been to the Vig downtown and it's really good. But The Vig nestled in Park West, a really great spot, is very very nice! It was packed so we sat at the bar and just enjoyed our time. We drank a bit haha but dinner was fantastic. Park West is a cool place and The Vig is particularly good. Just had dinner and drinks at the Vig. The server, Derek, was mediocre at best. They were out of the less expensive Chardonnay. And so my only option was to get the $17 a glass Chardonnay. They so kindly took two dollars off of it. No Chardonnay on the happy hour menu. I ordered a salad asked for no dressing on the salad. it came with the dressing on the salad. Derek showed up several minutes later and said" oops I guess they put the salad dressing on your salad" I've been to this location now multiple times. Never been impressed. It's over priced and the service is less than amazing. The food is also mediocre. There are multiple other options at Park West, Grimaldi's for example, that are significantly better. read more

I am struggling with how to start this review. A group of us moms decided (6 of us) to celebrate one of the moms since it was her birthday. Another mom reserved dinner on Open Table (which I've done many times but NEVER had this problem, even with the busiest restaurants). We were waiting to get a birthday cake for our friend and started to finish the rest of our food and drinks. The general manager came by thinking she's doing her normal check in as some GMs do. She started to grab plates and take them away and then she said "we have another reservation in 10 minutes" and rushed off. I asked our server what that was about. She didn't know. So I decided to talk to the GM and told her that it was uncalled for and unprofessional of her to tell us that she has another reservation waiting. I said we reserved it, but said rudely (mind you I took her aside and didn't make a scene) "well you reserved it on Open Table" (as if we should be treated less since we reserved it on Open Table). She said, there's a 2 hr time frame. I said I didn't know that or saw she interrupted rudely and said "well I read it, it's open table". I reminded her that the birthday cake was not sent yet and we asked for it prior and several times. Then she said, well we can move you. Why would we take all our drinks and some of our food to another table. There's 6 of us. I said well we will wait for the cake and leave. I would it give more stars because our sever was the hero and told us to take our time. The GM really needs to work on her manners. This is the last time we'll step foot into that place. I ordered the Pozole and it was so good!! Worth every single bite! The downside was we didn't make a reservation so we sat outside on the patio in the late afternoon. The misters were on but none faced our table. So be prepared people! The worst thing on the dessert menu was the flourless chocolate cake. So yuck! If that is your only dessert option, then skip dessert unless of course you like wet cocoa powder drizzled in runny Hershey's syrup. This was my first time at any Vig location and have to say the inside was beautiful and very inviting but it was a little dark inside. How do people read the menus like that? Wish I would have taken pics of the food. My friend ordered the salmon on some risotto with veggies. She said it was not that great. I guess she had it before they changed the menu. Why do they not serve cold water? There may have been ice in the glass jug at one time but when I got it the iced was nowhere to be seen and on a hot day the lukewarm water was not so appetizing. I would have ordered a drink but our waiter was pretty busy. So next time make reservations ahead of time, order the pozole, skip the dessert, and waive someone down for a cold drink. read more

It was hard along the edges it had a very thick heavy hard spongy texture. Really weird. What do you do to the eggs to make it like that? Sad skinny microwave-bacon. Potato had more burnt pieces than not. Please don't serve burnt charred food to paying customer. I believe you can do better if you cared. read more

My wife and I met friends at the Peoria location for dinner. The food was good, but our server was less than attentive. My wife ordered a bottle of wine and split that with one of our friends, the server came by and noticed that the bottle was empty and walked away leaving the ice bucket and bottle behind on our small table. My refill drink came to me very late in the meal and the sever left our dirty dishes on the table while the four of us talked after dinner. My wife had to ask one of the other staff members to remove the dirty plates from the table. The poor service ruined the experience. My wife wanted me to leave a 10% tip based on the lousy service but because we both have worked in the food industry I just could not do that. After paying the bill I said "Thank you" to our server and she replied "No problem." I find that a bit rude, I do not go out to eat to create a problem, a simple "You're welcome" would have been appropriate. Just my opinion on that. I will go back because I liked the food, but if I have that server, I will request a different station. The restaurant is nice inside and was quiet enough to have good conversation, so that was also good, too bad our server just did not seem too interested in her job. PERHAPS she was not trained on the professionalism side of wait service, but I assume that everyone who has ever been to a restaurant would understand the need for congeniality and efficiency. read more

Three of us went to celebrate a birthday. First of all, it's a beautiful restaurant. BRAVO to your interior designer!! EVERYBODY we came into contact with was cute and ever-so-pleasant. The food was beautifully presented, and IT WAS GOOD! I had the Tuna Tartare. Lots of really good, fresh tuna, and goodies and just enough dressing. And NO filler (like rice) to make it look like more than it was. My friends had the Kale Ceasar and the Mediterranean Salads. Both were beautiful and tasted great. Third time we thought we would give it a try. 1) Tables were empty and they could only seat us at a high top table. We hate high top tables for dinner requested a table. We are older 2) We were there at 4:45 requested a table. They had a reservation at that specific table at 7 and wouldn't seat us. And said they had no tables available when it was a Thursday and again was empty Seriously 3) again seating outside or at high top table when the place was empty. We try to support your location but I get the feeling you don't want to succeed. It's a shame I love your other location. There were hardly any vegetables, and the dish was about half sauce, to the point where it was soupy. And the sauce was very bland. Love the Vig, just not this one. The atmosphere is nice and warm. But the food is not even close to what we've come to expect from the Vig. We've been to most of the other locations over the years and it's one of our favorite spots. Maybe it's just an off night in the kitchen but it was disappointing to say the least. Crisp Calamari appetizer was not crisp and not hot. And as chewy as a rubber band. Calamari does have a little bite, but if cooked properly it's not like gnawing on an inner tube as it was tonight. We ordered the steak frites, a nice little dish normally. The fries were soggy and limp. The steak was close to rare, fair amount of grizzle and had virtually no flavor. It's supposed to have chimichurri on it. I detected none. And the side salad was a pile of weeds. To their credit, they did take the calamari off and our bartender was pleasant if not very fast at making cocktails. May give it another try because we do really like the place and want it to succeed. Just not up to par yet for this venerable valley spot. Better luck next time! read more

Perfect spot for a date night/ just a dinner. From the service from Mariah to the experience of the restaurant in total was a great place. Lights are nice and dimmed windows to the outside are open.
