We like to go to the vinyl nights that Tom Perrone has, with other people from 8 o'clock shot (the best group on facebook). Tom and Maria were hosting a Wednesday night Vinyl Night at Fadely's. This place is so interesting. I couldn't stop looking around at all the decor, everywhere I looked I saw something new tucked into one of the nooks & crannies of the place. It was raining when we went but the outside looked like a great place to be. There was one spot where you can shelter from the rain and they hung an upside down Christmas tree in it. The drink offerings seem to be a wide variety and good choices. I don't drink alcohol so I had my orange juice and seltzer which is one of my go to drinks if I'm not having a non alcoholic beer. Everyone here was nice and friendly including the bartender. I would come here again, a nice place to hang out.

The place offers live music occasionally and has a ton of space both indoors and out back to hangout, both with TVs in case you have any sport viewing you want to do as well. I definitely recommend the outdoor area if you've got a nice enough night for it. The drink variety won't blow your pants off, but it's got something for everybody and at prices that won't blow your pants off either. Although I didn't get a chance to try any of the food, from what I saw though it looked like good bar fare, and I in particular was eyeing the pizza. There's no dedicated parking lot, but there is some decent parking along the side streets nearby that shouldn't give you too much issue. This place is a nice change up from the typical scene you see a long main street. It might not be the loud and club like vibe you might be looking for, but for me that's quite alright. Would be happy to come back here anytime for a cold hard beverage and good conversation.

But I had a very unusual interaction with our waitress. We paid the bill and left, and the waitress came outside CHASING me and my family yelling "excuse me, did I do something wrong?" What? Turns out, I calculated the tip wrong (im bad at math and messed up) and tipped 18% instead of 20%. My brother helped me calculate it correctly, but to CHASE a family out because of an 18% tip is CRAZY. Most of these "up and coming" bullshit places in Patchogue need to go.

The brewery felt lively but not overwhelming, and the wide-open layout made it easy to spread out and unwind. If you haven't been to their new location yet, it's definitely worth the trip--especially on a nice day when you can enjoy the dog-friendly outdoor area. Great beer, great atmosphere, and a great way to wrap up the day!

I've been here a ton of times for drinks- definitely my favorite bar on main street...but whenever ordering food, it's always a hit or miss. I can't ever complain about their chicken quesadillas and cheese fries, as they're the best i've ever had...but every time i've ever had anything else, it's been a disappointment. I tried the turkey burger... dry with craisins inside (that were a surprise because they're not listed in the description). Another time I got the "moe"... roastbeef and melted cheese on a baquette which didn't exactly agree with me for whatever reason (can't exactly blame it on the kitchen). Just last night I got the "healthy italian wrap"... granted it was supposed to be "healthy", it was just so awfully bland. The part that was annoying though was the waitress who never tended to us to refill drinks or say our food would be out soon after we had waited about a half hour... it's a small dining room... i can't see how it could take that long for two simple orders. Anyway, the most aggravating part was that after we asked to pay separately, the waitress failed to tell us until after she delivered the bills (while we had our cards out the whole time) that it was a $15 minimum and that there was an ATM we could use......RUDE. I'm not paying fees to pay for my dinner because she failed to mention anything about a card minimum. I still give this place 4 stars because it's primarily a bar and will always be my favorite with my favorite bartenders! read more

I've been consistently ordering from Village Idiot for almost a year now and have never had any complaints. However, my recent experience was horrible enough to make me question whether I'll continue to patronize this business going forward. I ordered a shepherd's pie and received a plate of grease, with a paltry amount of mashed potatoes that barely covered a quarter of the dish. Absolutely, emphatically NOT worth the price AT ALL. I called to explain my dissatisfaction and was curtly apologized to, however no manager or supervisor was brought in to help rectify the issue. I'm saddened to have had this experience, as I've always been satisfied with the atmosphere and cuisine here. But I highly doubt I will be a returning customer after tonight. read more

I decided to go in on a Wednesday instead of a weekend and what a great decision! I love this place and have loved it for years. Our server Kaitlin was outstanding and never failed to make our experience wonderful. She not only helped us but made sure our food came out promptly and correct. She came by to check on us numerous times and we never had to ask for a refill, she just knew! I highly recommend the steak tidbits and the Texas burger--my boyfriend loves it and it's always cooked to perfection! Although the entire staff is friendly, we will continue going in during the week to receive another amazing experience from Kaitlin. If I could rate this place over 5 stars I would! read more

This was our first visit to The Village Idiot. We went for lunch. I was very impressed. Not only is it very clean and the staff very personable, but the food was amazing. I have food allergies and am gluten free so I am not always comfortable eating out as my choices are limited. I had the gluten free veggie quesadilla which had to be the best quesadilla i have ever had. My husband had the "moe" and he loved it. He even said that we have to go back. We even had the pleasure of meeting one of the managers, Maureen, who was delightful. I would reccommend this place to anyone. Very impressed. read more

Came to Idiot for Cinco de Mayo, Mikey D was one of the best bartenders I think I've ever come across. The place was packed and he made it a point to check in with me every 10 or so minutes to make sure I was situated with drinks and food, he was polite, all of my female friends LOVED his personality and vibe that he brought to our experience. Nick is hands down one of the best bartenders I've come across. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone at the bar felt taken care of. My husband & I went there for breakfast on Mother's Day. We sat at the bar & ate our breakfast with a couple of Bloody Marys. We both had breakfast quesadillas-very good. Even though the bar & restuarant were crowded we never had to wait for drinks & the food came out quickly. They also had a band(alot of fun) & free massages for mothers. Had lunch with my wife there this past Sunday-the food was delicious. The service was good though the waitress took a little longer than we like to bring our beers. There were plenty of tvs to watch all the sports which we really like. We ate in the restaurant but the bar had a nice crowd in it while we were there. I'd had it a few months ago and it was quite nice and I had come back for it but it wasn't the same at all. My friend got the Shepards Pie, and while he enjoyed it, it didn't really taste like traditional pub Shepard's pie, and it was also sort of drowning in sauce. He said it tasted like they added teriyaki but that isn't what I am looking for when ordering Shepard's pie. It was again heavy with the dark brown sauce in a shallow skillet. Traditional SP is a layer of ground meat with peas in it and often carrots and a thick baked crust of mashed potatoes on top. This was thin and a bit soupy. I didn't care for it and I really like SP. The other three times I have been here the food was good. Maybe it was an off night and the chef was on an umami kick. Who knows. But the service and staff were excellent so if I return I will stick to different food items.

I got a side of melted pretzel cheese and gravy which just made them 10 star rating. We also got a regular cheeseburger with mushrooms added, cooked to order. Oakdale Brew House is located in Lighthouse Commons, a group of businesses along Montauk Highway, and there are plenty of parking spots.
