I feel so much better about eating at Village Inn now that they've remodeled the restaurants. My husband and I were looking for a spot where we could enjoy a solid classic breakfast, nothing overly fancy and decided to come here. The staff at this location are fantastic. We were greeted and seated right away, and our server was so kind. We came with our toddler, and without us even asking, she offered to bring his kids' meal out as soon as it was ready so he wouldn't have to wait. That thoughtful gesture really stood out. I ordered the Spinach and Bacon Omelette without the Hollandaise, and it was delicious. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy, just the way I like them. My husband went with the Bacon & Eggs breakfast (with a side of pancakes), and he demolished everything. It was exactly what he wanted. For our son, we ordered the Funny Face kids' meal, and the portion was generous. He couldn't finish it, so I tried the leftover pancakes, and honestly, they're some of the best I've had. Oh what a bummer they dont have a new Yelp page to reflect there updates, this is a totally different Village Inn. My previous review remarked broken booths, slow service, crummy food etc. Now, after their updates we were thrilled to try VI and it was a 180 experience. Super quick seating for 6, fast service, plentiful cups, comfy seating. We really enjoyed it. Prices are increased slightly but the bright and inviting atmosphere makes you feel like youre in a fancy brunch spot. Bonus: they now have a full bar, which is why you might not have come before, but definitely will be back! We had the kids, and they have kid menus but nocrayons...I would def get some! A few friends and I decided to check out The Village Inn since we hadn't been there in years and was pleasantly surprised. They had updated the inside to have a more modern brunch aesthetic than the original bright orange old diner feel. The place was pretty busy but we were seated quickly. The waitress was amazing and attentive even though we could tell she was pretty overwhelmed. The menu was also updated and condensed, with more upgraded options than the original menu while still maintaining some of their favorite options. Yes, the VIB is still on the menu. I settled for an iced caramel coffee with oat milk (yes they even had alternative milk) which was good but definitely not as sweet as I thought it was going to be. I also got the very berry banana bowl with a side of hashbrowns. It was light and perfectly sweet with a sweet cream drizzled on top of the berries. Everything was decently priced as well, so overall made for a budget friendly tasty brunch. If you're looking for typical breakfast food that you can leave satisfied with, this is your place to try. This was my first time coming in since the remodel/rebranding. Such an impressive vibe for village inn! I loved the interior and felt it was a huge step up in terms of aesthetic, and menu options. They now have a bar and serve alcohol throughout the restaurant which came as a huge surprise! The food/drinks menu is similar enough to what it was, but definitely classier and larger now. Although this isn't a high quality/boujee brunch spot compared to Omahas market, it is probably one of the best price points for what you get, and the quality is not low by any means. I loved the pancakes, and was most impressed with the chicken fried steak. The portions were not overly large, so I finished everything. I haven't been to Village Inn in years, but when this location reopened, my friends and I decided to check it out! I got an iced vanilla latte, the build your own breakfast deal with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, hash browns, and I substituted the seasonal pumpkin pancakes. The food absolutely exceeded my exceptions! The eggs were fluffy and had a great flavor, the sausage was delicious and the hash browns were just right. We had to wait a bit for the pancakes because the kitchen was making a fresh batch of the sauce that came with it, but they were completely worth the wait! The lattes are not very sweet, so if you like a sweeter coffee, you may need to add your own sugar. My friends and I will be back to satisfy our brunch cravings in the future! read more

I dont order on line very often. Older 75 widower.. Everything went smooth, arrived 5 minuits early. told the waitress I had a order to pick up. She was very nice good service, a couple minuits later she was back with my order.. Again very nice.. My order, fish and chips with cole slaw , and I arrived home.I was hungry so opened my bag. They're Back and Better! We stopped in for lunch yesterday and on the weekend. It was a pleasant surprise to see the newly remodeled Village Inn. The inside is bright, clean and looks more spacious. When we arrived at 12:20 pm,there was a wait and within 10 minutes we were seated in a nice booth. We both ordered the 2-2-2 Breakfast and it arrived in a timely manner, served hot and fresh. The eggs were light and fluffy, bacon cooked perfectly-not too fatty or too crisp, and the rye toast was buttered and yummy. Our waitress was nice, and made sure we had plenty of coffee coming, keeping our coffee pots full. The coffee was excellent, they also served fancy coffee drinks and a bar, too. My only criticism is that their coffee machine wasn't working when I tried to order a Latte. Great comeback! read more

This Village in is not the same Village Inn of 4-5 years ago. It's been totally remodeled and you can even buy adult beverages to go with your meal. Not your typical Village Inn for sure. We still tend to stop in when we are in the mood for breakfast or brunch. They currently have reduced hours and are not open in the late afternoon or evenings. Hope they are able to expand hours in the future. Great omelet's from our experiences! read more

Since VI re-branded to The Village Inn, the one at 138th and W Maple Rd has gone down hill. They started out great when first opened. Service was a touch slow but very friendly. The food was wonderful. Had breakfast there this morning with my wife. Both of us ordered eggs Benedict. It was served with a big steak knife on the plate, both of which had some gross green vegetation on them. My poached egg was tough and laying beside the English muffin instead of on it. The ham looked like leftovers from yesterday and the Hollandaise sauce was thick and and almost curdled like it was prepared days before and then heated in a microwave oven. The English muffin was OK but the meat, eggs and sauce did not cover half of it. This was served with a side of hash brown potatoes that were dry and very crunchy. My wife's potatoes looked like someone ate a portion of them before they were plated. This place has been in decline since it opened. I would not recommend it to anyone at this point. read more

Too bad I can't give zero stars. We were here on October 9th because my elderly mother always liked Village Inn and hadn't been to one in two years. Took sometime to get seated and the waitress made it rudely clear that she was too busy and would try to take our order soon. She was waiting one table with eight people and apparently stood in the kitchen waiting for their orders to be ready. We got the attention of the manager who did take our orders but it was forever before we got anything, the salads came at the same time as the entrees. There was nobody bussing the tables, the one to my right sat unattended for the entire time we were there. The manager was aware the waitress could only manage one table at a time but he seemed totally harried too. Pathetic. I guess it's hard to get good help in Omaha at this type of establishment because the job market is so good Matt from Village Inn public relations sent me a gift card as compensation. We used it December 18th at the Village Inn at 108th and L Street. Beautiful, friendly service from each employee and the food was perfect. Visited Village Inn with some coworkers for breakfast. Normally I'm not a huge fan of Village Inn, but, this time I had a pretty good experience! Our server was pretty patient and friendly with the two of us that sat there for about 15-20 minutes waiting for the other part of our table to arrive. My favorite breakfast food is eggs Benedict with an extra side of hollandaise and this morning it was pretty good! My coworkers ordered the ultimate skillet and a Belgian waffle and had no complaints. This particular store earns extra props for dealing with the table of eight senior citizens that were pretty rowdy with their bunny ears for Easter. Everybody was smiling and happy and assisted every table with no problems. The only issue I would say I had was that there was a long wait time for our food to arrive when there weren't that many tables when we ordered. Seeing as the food was great, the service was great, and the restaurant was clean... I would say the wait time is low man on the totem pole for me giving a low rating. I'm sure all of the other ratings are legit, but, I didn't see any of those problems today. So, maybe, give this Village Inn a try even though the ratings are pretty low. This is our first time back at village inn in two years and it sadly will be our last. We had high hopes for them and what we ordered sounded great but highly disapointed. We called and ordered for a carry out order. They took our order and said it would be ready in 12 minutes. My husband got there and waited in a huge mess of people to be helped. He paid right away and then waited for about 30 to 45 minutes before he asked for our food. A woman who seemed to be of a higher position grabbed our food and asked who had checked him out and that was about it. After he drove away I reminded him to check our food to see if it was cold, it was. He turned around and asked for new food. They did that for us, they refunded one of the meals, and even upgraded the size of a chili we ordered but she seemed irritated about it all. (I think they should have checked the freshness before even giving it to a customer) After he got home we started eating. He had the ultimate skillet, he thought it was okay but once he got to his eggs he did not finish the food. The eggs were completely undercooked they looked like snot. I'm sorry but it was disgusting. I had strawberry and cream crepes. They tasted fine but they had barely any cream in them at all! I was very sad about that. The hash browns were good, they had quite a buttery taste which I liked. The chili was awful. It had corn in it which I found odd, and it was cold. Needless to say it got tossed after about 3 bites. Also it was packed up in a coffee cup, I've never seen that before. Not a good experience at all. Like I said before I did appreciate the refund and willingness to remake the food without a fight, but the lack of cream in the crepes and the raw eggs in my husband's food, along with the whole mess at the restaraunt in general will always draw me away from this place now. read more

I stood in the front near the host stand for about ten minutes waiting for a table. One of the servers was walking around the back without a mask when I entered, and made eye contact but said nothing. This happened twice more, and again with another server without a host ever stepping foot in the front. Finally, the server who eventually came to help my friend and I get a table? She asked us, "How are you guys?" I responded, "I've been standing here for ten minutes." Her reply: "Do you want to wait longer? I'm not the host." My friend and I walked out. My husband and I had breakfast for dinner there last Sunday evening and it was terrible! Twice they tried to get my eggs with a runny yolk and twice they were rock hard. Even after asking for jelly, I had to wait for our wait person to clear a table and go back to the kitchen which took so long my English muffin was cold. The hash browns for my husband came out do under cooked they were white. The second attempt had them with a few burnt pieces on top. The manager "graciously" took off a few cents for the hash browns. The restaurant was not busy and it would seem that he might have been able to spot some of these issues. No need to return. read more

What a disgusting shithole. The food was gross and lukewarm- the hash browns smelled like chemicals. I've seen cleaner bathrooms at truckstops. This was one notch above a port-o-potty. The majority of the staff looks unkempt. I think this place is run by carnival workers. The service is horrible and non-existent. The only reason this place is still in business is because of the droves of elderly folk who have no tastebuds left or sense of their surroundings or what constitutes a decent meal. Village Inn's food is on par with Denny's and iHop-- so expect an almost identical menu to those chains, and prices are in that neighborhood as well. The service at this particular Village Inn is horrible, and it has a reputation of that around this part of town......so take you booty down to the location off of west center road where it's the same fare, but 100x better service, trust me that extra mileage to get treated like a human being is worth it! read more

Tonight, pie at Village Inn. It has been too long since my last visit, so my companion and I loaded into the car and here we are! Tara was our server tonight. She was excellent! Quite attentive, always there when we needed, but never lingering too long. I had the VIB, a build-your-own breakfast deal. Unfortunately, Tara reported that they were out of cinnamon apples after we had our meal. Kitchen was slacking, but not our server. Got a menu fast and had a new item in no time. My companion had the VIB as well. We remember when it was first introduced at $5.55 with five items. Prices rise and quantity drops. Overall, excellent visit. Pumpkin pie was tasty! We arrived for lunch and more than half of the tables were empty. The manager was just standing and staring at the football game on the TV while the remainder of the staff were seen talking and back. There was a busboy working on tables and that was it. After 5 minutes of standing we could hear somebody say that there were people in front. Went to this Village Inn location with my boyfriend on Sunday. They were pretty busy so we stood and looked at pies while we waited. As we are looking at pies, there is a display pie on the top shelf FULL of mold and flies (not sure if fruit flies or gnats)!! It was absolutely disgusting.
