Pasta was hard all they did was add mayo..HORRIBLE

I don't know what happened to this place because it USED to be great now every time we order it gets worse and WORSE..ordered a sun and macaroni salad said it would be a half a pound and as you can see in the picture it was not and NOTHING but macaroni and mayo..unbelievable they lost this customer we are done wasting money on garbage!

Their take on a "Italian Sub"
    Ric F.

Better off going to Subway. Well did the Tuesday night special 2 subs for 10$. Ordered one turkey sub - extra mayo, lettuce, tomato and NO ONION. Other sub was a "Italian" (see picture) basically everything but the main ingredient CAPICOLA. Got home opened it up, turkey sub had pepperoni? The "Italian" sub was very sad looking, one of each meat and without any Italian dressing. Must be since because the deal with the subs - the quality is short changed to keep initial profit margins up, but the point of a special is not to short change your customers. I do not normally do 1 stars, but come on guys you can do better than this!

    a meatball sandwich

I ordered a sausage and pepper sub NO ONIONS, Got ONIONS. Minimal amount of sausage. My partner ordered meatball parm and it was burnt to the point you could smell the burnt roll when you opened it. No tomato sauce, See for yourself.

Gross!! (This is how the food looked when I got it!!)

"We don't have a cocktail menu, but we can make anything you'd like."…read more That was one of the first things our server told us, and honestly, it was refreshing. These days, it feels like every bar has a cocktail menu full of creatively named drinks that require reading a list of ingredients just to figure out what you're ordering. At Governor's Tavern, if you want a gin and tonic, you simply ask for a gin and tonic. The only decision you need to make is which gin you'd like. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I appreciate that not every place feels the need to reinvent the wheel. The place was packed at lunchtime, but we got lucky and grabbed a pair of seats across from the bar. The server who I quoted was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Guinness, but unfortunately the keg had just kicked. She recommended the Samuel Smith chocolate stout instead and even brought me a sample before I committed to taste since I never heard of it, which was a nice touch. For food, we ordered the State Grill burger and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, and each came with Belgian-style hand-cut fries. If you're spending the day browsing the boutiques and antique shops along Warren Street and want a drink, a good meal, and a lively mix of locals and tourists, Governor's Tavern is worth a stop.

Shared an OG Chicken Sandwich $13. It was buttermilk fried chicken with tomato and lettuce on a roll. Sandwich was pretty tasty. Service was just average. Otherwise, I would've given it four stars. Only a few people appear to have ordered food here. Basically, the place appears to be a watering hole. Only app.metered parking in the area.

I don't know if it was on accident or some diabolical genius plan putting the truck close to 66 but it definitely got the smell of fresh pizza in my face and my body to their counter . Walking up the folks here are super friendly! They took the time to explain their flavors and recommendations which I asked for. We ordered the Three Little Pigs and the special Cherry Chipotle BBQ wings with blue cheese (ranch is also an option for all you BC haters) along with a Sour Patch Kids beverage. Pizza review: Extremely fresh, crispy crust, not thick not too thin but definitely tasty all on its own. I had to eat the crust. The toppings of pepperoni, sausage, and bacon, delicious and very generous. Very nice sauce that paired great with the flavor of the ingredients and cheese. I don't think they cutting corners on ingredients here. I'm looking forward to my return to try the other flavors but after two slices of pizza here and a couple wings I was pretty full. The Wings: Cherry Chipotle BBQ, OMG. You know how you get the BBQ sometimes and it's just that delicious sticky icky yum yum mmm mmm good kind of sauce. It kind a felt like that as I licked the sauce off my fingers and enjoyed the jumbo sized juicy wings they served me. They have all the standard flavors but I loved that they offer a special of something different than the usual. And they did it very well. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth I recommend the Sour Patch Drink as it is tart and sweet with a few sour patch kids to enjoy at the end. It paired very well with the flavors of our meal and I very much enjoyed sitting outside, watching the traffic go by while I ate this delicious meal. All in all I will definitely be back. They're open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday for now and will be seen around town at various festivals and events. They accept cash and card, and offer a respectful discount to Veterans, Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement. Great food, great folks, and fast service all make for a winning combo at Mama Jeans Pies. Check 'em out Facebook as well for weekly updates on specials. Can't wait to go back!! Great job folks!

Walked into a homey space with many booths on the sides for privacy, friendly service and a lively bar. My kind of scene. Apparently the chef knows what he's doing at this establishment! I love me some dry rub baby back ribs; the half rack I ordered was finger lickin' good! Very little fat, just lean delicious tender pork coated with a bit of glistening sauce. I chose to kick up my taste experience using the generous condiments on the table, combining the sweet BBQ sauce with hot mustard. Perfecto! Opted for house made slaw and baked beans as my sides, they were so flavorful. I loved that the slaw wasn't drowning in mayo, just enough to make it moist. Partner got a cheeseburger and fries, he said it was excellent. I pilfered a few of his fries and indeed they were fantastic - crispy, thin and fresh. Plenty of parking, friendly service, reasonable prices, generous portions. A real gem!

This version wasn't the usual shaved ribeye. it was thinly sliced, incredibly tender, and seasoned to perfection. The cheese sauce was rich and flavorful. My only critique is the roll, it was super soft, so the juicy meat and cheese made it a little soggy. Still, the flavor more than made up for it, easily a 4 out of 5 on the sandwich alone. The rest of the experience? Absolute 10. They know how to season their food, and the variety of sauces they offer takes things to the next level. My husband tried the beer flight and loved it. We sat outside, and the whole place had such a fun, laid-back energy. We're not from the area, but if we were, this would be a weekly go-to.
