A huge shout-out to Kaylin, who consistently goes above and beyond. She is always smiling, genuinely welcoming, and happy to make great recommendations. They do not have on the menu iced tea, but rather than simply telling me they do not, she brings me a cup of ice along with hot green tea so I can make my own. It's a small thing, but it perfectly represents her approach to customer service. The sushi itself is remarkable, and the chefs clearly appreciate their customers. They routinely do little extra things that make us feel valued and create a level of service that really stands out. We generally spend around $100 for two people, including one alcoholic beverage and green tea, which I consider very reasonably priced for the quality of the food and service, especially in today's economy. The only thing which surprises me is that the restaurant often seems slower than I would expect. We've been on both Mondays and Saturdays, and I honestly don't understand why this place isn't packed. Hiro Sushi has officially become our new favorite sushi restaurant, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. From the outside, I wasn't expecting much but as soon as we walked into the restaurant the whole vibe transported us to Hawaii. We had the banzai burger, fish and chips, and the coconut shrimp and pork. The pork had amazing flavor and smoke that is unique to Hawaiian pork. We finished it off with a Kona beer.
