As someone who doesn't eat meat, I think this was a mistake on my part. I forgot that the gravy for Classic Poutine was probably not Vegetarian. The fries were hot and crispy; the cheese curds were squeaky just as they are supposed to be. I think this was a more authentic version of Poutine than what we've had previously at Fritz's European Fry House in Vancouver. The cheese curds there were not squeaky; rather, they were melted and had a very ooey, gooey, stretchy texture to them. Personally, I think I prefer the poutine at Fritz's European Fry House even though it may not be as authentic as the one at Mean Poutine . I wouldn't say though that it's better.
