It's a cute little airport spot where there's dine in seating at the bar and there are several other seats to choose from. We were seated right away and Allison was our amazing server. She was super attentive and very helpful with helping us decide on menu items. We started with drinks and 8 Sea Level Salt raw oysters, and they were tasty. Pretty small, but good! I ordered the Fisherman's Pick handheld and it was delicious, fried perfectly and full of flavor. I had the French Fries as my side and they were perfect with old bay seasoning and malt vinegar. My daughter chose the cold Maine lobster roll with Fries & coleslaw and said it was ok. Obviously it's an airport restaurant, but it's a pretty good one if you have time. read more

I placed a to-go order using the QR code, and the hostess assured me that someone would bring my order out to me. My order was submitted at 5:38 p.m., and I waited patiently in the front of the restaurant as instructed. It was a cute place that wasn't very busy. I understand that orders take time, but during my wait, no one checked on the status of my order. Even the bartender told me he would bring it out, but I continued waiting without any update. Finally, at 6:18 p.m., a waitress approached me, and after I showed her my order, she said, "We were looking for you." I was surprised because I had been waiting in the same spot the entire time. What disappointed me most was the lack of customer service. No one greeted me, checked in, or said, "Let me look into your order for you." As a USAF veteran and someone who has spent many years working in retail, I know how important it is to acknowledge customers and communicate with them, especially when there is a delay. By the time I received my food, my fries were cold. This experience was frustrating and could have been easily avoided with better communication and attentiveness. However, I won't be coming back for anything other than oysters, and with other places in the city offering the same thing I will probably skip coming back here and go elsewhere. We sat on the rooftop, our poor server I think was so over worked we barely saw her. My cocktail came out within 10 minutes, but my friends draft beer took over 30 minutes to come out... our food came out before her beer.. and since our server was no where to be found we couldn't even reminder her about it. Around 6:30pm a DJ came and started BLASTING club music... at 6:30pm during a weekday summer happy hour... totally ruined the vibe. Couldn't even hear my friend talking who was sitting at my table. Not sure how new this place is, but they have a lot to figure out. Almost like they don't know the type of restaurant / rooftop bar they want to be. Vibes are veryyyy off. Cast iron seafood dip I was super pumped for, but did not have any flavor whatsoever. There were chunks of shrimp in it, but other than that it just seemed like dairy with no seasoning. My friend got the shrimp po boy blackened instead of fried, you can tell in the photo it is NOT blackened, also flavorless. She liked the taste of the ceaser salad but it didn't taste like ceaser... LOVE the draft mule. And the happy hour oysters. Other than that, overall disappointing experience. Parking was easy since it shares a lot with Harris Teeter. read more

For an airport restaurant this is a great choice! My flight was delayed so I popped in for a quick dinner. Everything came out fast and the servers were attentive and nice - even when they technically weren't my server. You could tell that the people that worked there get along well and have a good time at while working which always elevates the vibe of a restaurant. Most airport restaurant food is disappointing and wildly expensive. We've already accepted that bars are an amenity with a 20-30% tariff. This seafood restaurant is actually good and clean. The products are prepared fresh and fast with generous portions. Service is efficient and courteous. Although we dared not to order, fresh oysters were offered on the half shell, and Bbqed. They actually had $30 Lobster Rolls and Narragansett beer on draft. Prices were actually reasonable. Chicken, Shrimp and Fish tacos were fresh, moist and flavorful. The Fried fish sandwich was crisp, moist and not dry. Condiment trays were new, clean and filled, already set on each table, often a simple pet peeve. Being that this is Charlotte NC, the southern hospitality is quick, effective and welcoming, if not warm and sincere. If it's this good at the airport gotta wonder what's available outside. read more

Out of the draft beer I wanted. Poured the wrong beer for my refill. Agressively sweeping behind the bar an hour before the bar closed while I'm trying to eat (picture the dust and crap that stirred up!). Then poured cleaner on the floor and were cleaning that the last 20 min while I'm trying to eat. Forgot my side dish when my entree was served - asked them about it awhile after my entree and they admitted they forgot but didn't do anything about it other than run in the back and come back with it. Also, the food was lousy. Lobster Mac and cheese was a step above Kraft with frozen lobster chunks and "soupy" cheese...yuck. Will never come to this place again. I experienced extremely poor service from the hostess at Waterman's Fish Bar (a very tall younger woman with buns in her hair). When I asked if my partner and I could sit at a specific table, she laughed in my face and told me--within earshot of my husband and another guest in line--that she didn't believe I would fit at that table. Given that it was just the two of us, i asked for an explanation. When I asked for clarification, she became even more rude and dismissive. She then told us to follow her, refused our request to speak with management by saying they were unavailable and wouldn't care, seated us at a table we did not request, and walked away. We left shortly after and chose to eat elsewhere in the airport. If you are looking for respect and professionalism, I would not recommend dining here. The fact that the first point of contact--the host--displayed such a disrespectful attitude speaks volumes about the establishment. read more

I was sat quickly by the hostess, the service to order with Francisco was slow and the QR code was disabled or I would have done it myself, but once I was greeted and placed my drink and food orders, we were rolling! Everything came out quickly and was quite tasty. The ghost pepper margarita and fish tacos were fantastic! The fries and the slaw situation on the tacos get a separate honorable mention as well. I had a pretty chill lunch experience here while traveling. I sat at the bar and was greeted pretty quickly. The restaurant is newer, fun decor and lots of windows so it's very inviting. They have tvs above the bar so you can watch or just kind of look out the windows. I ordered the shrimp salad and calamari and enjoyed both. My salad dressing was a bit too salty so I didn't finish the salad. The calamari was the star of the show and I'm glad I ordered it. It was popular too because two different people sat next to me and ordered them too. I would eat here again! read more

The place was pretty busy, the staff definitely does a great job of hustling. I asked for a spicy margarita, but the bartender explained that the jalapeños aren't very spicy , so she recommended the ghost pepper... great choice ! Fish and Chips were pretty good. Solid 3 1/2 stars. Fish better than the chips/fries. More fries than I can eat. Large fish filet. They gave me one and a half filets. Not sure if the half was a bonus or if I go short changed. Also ordered a Hurricane drink. They have draft beer, cans and bottles available. Place also has a full bar and cocktails. The Hurricane was actually very good. Now I was shocked when I reviewed the bill and found out the Hurricane was $23. I should have paid a little more attention to the menu. I was headed home to Florida after a week of Service in Belize. I was starving by the time I arrived to my connecting gate. Fried food is not my thing, but Salmon is! I was at the Charlotte airport waiting for my connection flight back home to Indy from Little Rock AR, and needed some lunch, so I decided to check out The Waterman Fish Bar. I sat at the bar, and Courtney, the bartender, greeted me right away with a smile and took my order. I ordered the fish and chips and a beer (sorry ,I do not remember what type of beer). The fish was fried strips of cod and french fries served with a side of coleslaw. The fish was prepared fresh and tasted excellent with the tartar sauce. The texture of the fish was perfect and crispy. The fries were crispy and excellent. The coleslaw was actually some of the best coleslaw I had ever had, and I'm not a coleslaw person. I enjoyed my lunch very much while waiting for my flight home to Indy, and the service was very good for a busy bar in the afternoon. The Waterman Fish Bar is a great place for fish or a drink while you wait for your flight, and if I were to fly through Charlotte, I would stop by here again for a bite to eat or a drink. The food is good quality and the craft beer selection is different for an airport restaurant. All in all, it is a great place to eat and drink. read more

Busy but not slammed. Sat at bar. Ordered hush puppies and a salad. Hush puppies were nice and crispy but not much flavor and super dense. They had malt vinegar which was awesome. Waited 45 minutes for a salad. I asked a few times about it. Told her I had to board, which I did. Bartender finally disappeared to kitchen. Salad was obviously forgotten or missed. She came out with it finally. Looked thrown together and not appetizing whatsoever. Told her I didn't have time to eat it because I had to board, which I did. She got obviously perturbed . Found this place while changing planes- Mark was my waitstaff- and he was warm & welcoming right from the start! He was fast, cordial, responsive , and professional. I ordered a Chardonnay- tasted it, and asked Mark if I could see the bottle! He brought it to the table, so I could take a picture of the label- it was Altitude Chard and it was sensational!!! Would give a zero if I could, zero customer service, was told to sit anywhere, I did and was given a menu. 10 minutes later was asked to move because the "table was dirty" it was the cleanest one in the place. I left without being even asked if I wanted something to drink. Go through CLT airport several times a month and will never give them another opportunity.
