After seeing their impressive IG posts advertising their brunch spread, we decided to check them out. Well, kudos to their social media manager because the post is better than IRL! Before I get to the food portion of the review, let's start with the basics. Brunch starts at 10am and there is a bit of a line that queues outside prior to the doors opening. And no judgement, but there were a lot of serious eater profiles in line so that made us even more optimistic about the food. The line does move a little slow as they take payment up front and also make drinks while slapping a wristband on to tell who paid for the buffet and who didn't. Not sure why they bothered because there wasn't anyone standing online checking for wristbands. But the place was packed by 10:45 so I would advise getting here earlier vs later. Also, unless I missed it, there wasn't a menu board listing what exactly was on the buffet. We assumed that the menu was similar to what we saw on IG. That was a mistake. The selection included waffles, chicken strips, scrambled eggs, shrimp and grits, biscuits and country gravy, bacon, sausage, fruit salad, salmon patties and an omelette make to order window. The good. The shrimp and grits were the best items on the menu. The grits were legitimately delicious and contained plenty of shrimp. However there were no bowls, only plates so if you don't like the run off effect, beware. The chicken tenders were good not great. The segments were irregular resulting in uneven frying with some of my pieces over fried. The bad. The eggs, sausage links, gravy and fruit salad were synonymous with the continental breakfast you get at the Hampton Inn. The sausage links in particular had that dull grey complexion that reeked of either steam or microwave but definitely not griddle cooked. The scrambled eggs essentially fused together in the serving pan so you had to scoop it out like ice cream. And my lady ordered from the omelette bar, and after waiting 15 minutes for it to be ready, she ended up with an inedible omelette that looked like it had been bathed in grease. The ugly. I ordered a Bloody Mary from the bar. The Bloody Mary was good, and included a decent garnish of okra and olives. However, I only ordered that one drink and the 2 buffets. Final ticket came to $87! Not sure how much they charged me for the bloody but I think I would stick with water or a beer if I were you. We may have caught them on an off weekend so there's that to consider. But in general, if quantity over quality is your groove, then by all means make this your next stop. But if you are looking for a brunch with a little more "cookery", you may want to look elsewhere.

    Pilsner at Heist Brewery, Charlotte

Five years later, Heist is due for an update and the opportunity to show off our beer culture to one of my out-of-town friends. On a Sunday afternoon out of football season, Heist was not busy and we were able to get a hightop immediately. I popped up to the counter and placed our food and beer order - we split a pitcher of their "Druid" Pilsner and I brought that back to the table. Two hours later, we had drunk the beer and eaten the flatabread and the beer cheese with breadsticks. The flat bread was tasty and well topped. The beer cheese was tangy and the breadsticks were both crunchy and soft. Delicious. There is a lot of seating inside and outside - upstairs, downstairs, a huge back room. We were at a high top in the entrance and it was cool. I was pleased with how it turned out and glad to have Heist as an example of Charlotte's fabulous beer culture. Great location with large indoor and outdoor seating areas. They do have flight cards you can fill out for a flight of four brews. The brewery has some of the top-rated beers in the state. I just wish the menu was powered by Untappd to be able to sort through it more efficiently. Service was okay from the bar, meaning you had to do your own running while someone secured your table. I cannot comment on the food since I did not order anything here. Otherwise, a great location just outside the main part of the city--well, at least it seems to be as I am only just getting a feel for one night as to what Charolette is about to begin with.

Stopped by for a late dinner during the week and while I enjoy the vibe of Heist Brewery, the food is alright, nothing spectacular. My husband got the double brisket burger with parmesan garlic fries, and I got the chicken with Mac and cheese. Both were decent. Service: you order at the bar and receive a number for your table. They will then bring your food to the table.

First times at Heist Brewery for Sunday Brunch. I was so pleasantly surprised by the food options and how well they took care of you. We arrived right when they opened at 10:00 AM. For $20 per person you could get all you want to eat from this large spread of food choices. Choices included biscuits and gravy, bagels, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, beef Wellington, chicken, waffles, French toast, fresh fruit, donuts, and pastries. You could also order a omelette made to order! Fresh coffee, OJ, etc were also provided. For $5 a carafe you can get a mimosa, Bloody Mary or beer. What a deal! There is plenty of seating and you can stay as long as you would like. I was really impressed with this Buffett. This was my first visit but definitely not my last. We are thinking of making it a regular visit! Excellent brunch Geist. Thank you!

I had a delicious burger and my guy had some AMAZING chicken and waffle tacos... yes, tacos! I thought that was so unique and cute in the taco holder. I didn't love the fries but nothing was wrong either. They just weren't anything special. Service was friendly and helpful in choosing a drink (I like sweet). The building is so big and there is no way to feel cramped. They also have an upstairs area that I'm sure makes a great event space for birthdays.

    The very impressive Brunch Junkie!

Excellent first time experience with Heist Brewery with one of their Oatmeal Stouts, The Brunch Junkie. Thin and smooth in body and coffee and oatmeal strong in taste this hit all the right marks for me. I do love stouts, especially oatmeal ones during the colder times of the year but when I had Brunch Junkie it was during a warmer season. Didn't matter with this stout. It's truly enjoyable anytime of the year. With such a great start with Heist with this beer I have hopes that their other beer selections are just as impressive!

I love this place, especially on Sundays. Like, is there a better deal than $10 for a pitcher of mimosas on Sunday? I also really like their nachos with chicken, and order it almost every time (no, it's not real Mexican food, so just accept that when you order it - if you want Mexican, go to an actual Mexican restaurant). They're super dog friendly here and def make you feel like it, so you can chill with your pup outside and pet your dog if you're okay with it. And even on weekdays, service is just generally nice and welcoming. Like, you'd want to come back here no matter what! Love coming by here and feeling welcomed!

I had somehow forgotten about this place, even though it was my go-to for weekend brunch before Covid for so many years. I have certainly reignited the flame!! They offer bottomless brunch and they have even expanded their offerings and have an amazing selection of the usual eggs and meats, fruits, biscuits and gravy, chicken wings, chicken and waffles, grits, SEAFOOD BROIL, an omelette and flatbread bar, and various desserts. They have coffee and juices, and lots of great drink specials. The bottomless brunch is a steal at $20 a head. Highly recommend!!!

My friend and I were looking for somewhere to grab a quick drink and maybe a little bite to eat before going out for the evening and we came across Heist Bar as it was pretty close to the spot we were going to afterwards. Upon entry, we were quickly sat at the bar and we ordered chips and the short rib queso. I also ordered the short rib taco and my friend got the fish tacos. Overall, everything was pretty good. I will say a couple of my chips were a little stale lol but I won't nitpick too bad.

My husband and I visited Heist brewery were visiting Charlotte for only 4 days and we visited this place twice because we liked it so much. They have a wide variety of beers. You can get something that tastes like Christmas up to a beer that tastes like you are on the beach sipping pina coladas. We sat outside on the patio under the umbrella but the inside is also HUGE. We also had lunch here and it was very good!! who knew breweries would have a great salad?

I'm not a fan of breweries just for a regular everyday visit, but their Sunday brunch is a must! $20 gets you a buffet of some of the yummiest eats around! Coffee and juice are included on the bar with the price. They have everything from chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits to an omelette station. Fresh fruit and baked goods. The French toast was so good, out of this world. They also offer drink specials, I got the mimosa carafe which was only $10. Just a glass was $5 so yea that was a no brainer lol. The brunch is every Sunday from 10-2, and I highly suggest getting there early. Like before they open, I got there abt 930 just so I wouldn't have any probs finding parking, and there were already people standing outside forming a line lol.

    Closed. Pizza is open.

Says they are open. And there is a sign on the store saying they are closed. Mad. Took a Lyft to come here. Waste of money.

We were given a bowl of complementary kettle corn to enjoy with our drinks. The music was a mix of r&b and hip hop and was loud enough to vibe but didn't overpower the conversations. There's outdoor seating, and initially we wanted to sit outside but we didn't have reservations. Luckily, they seated us at a small corner section near the back of the bar. It's very cozy and intimate inside. Just my type of vibe. The service was top tier. They were unable to validate our parking because of some sort of discrepancy with the signage outside and lack of having the proper equipment for validation. To make up for it, they offered us complimentary champagne to start. We were not expecting that, and pleasantly surprised! Their menu has an eclectic selection of cocktails, both full and mini. We opted to order from the mini cocktail menu, and we each ordered two drinks. I had the Creepy cucumber cocktail and it was refreshingly sweet and probably my favorite drink of the night. I also ordered the Don't Shy Away which was a sour and spicy rum concoction with carrot in it. It was definitely spicy and had a puréed texture. I really enjoyed it. And, then don't get me started on the music!!! The dj was masterful. He played all the types of music I love and he mixed them in such a refreshing way. I ended up asking him for his contact information before leaving, and whether he does weddings because my fiancé and I are currently looking for a DJ. He was just that good. This would definitely be my spot if I lived here in Charlotte. It was the perfect way for us to end the night.

This needs to be addressed on the FAQ page on their website, insane it isn't listed already. The drinks were the most meh drinks I've ever had. Their menu looks incredible, but the cocktails were so mediocre. Nothing special, I didn't even like my Pear Cosmo it just tasted like straight lime juice. Two of my friends got the Spicy Margarita and they tasted completely different. One was insanely spicy, the other wasn't spicy at all.
