Great place for lunch. Casual atmosphere and awesome people. Prices are very reasonable. Try the French Taco.

I stopped in for brunch on a Saturday morning and was really surprised by the crowds, and the atmosphere of the restaurant. It reminded a lot of B Matthew's in Savannah, which if you know, is a good thing! I initially went for the croissants based on the recommendation, but ordered the Biscuits with Gravy in addition to a loaf of sourdough, a croissant, and a few back to school theme cookies to bring onto the kids! The biscuits and gravy was phenomenal, and I really liked how they added scrambled eggs to top them. This is something I've never seen before and the result was great! As far as the bakery items (croissant, sourdough, and cookies) I feel like my review won't do them justice because they weren't eaten until I got home a few days later. Bottom line, I will be stopping in at Hester's every time I visit Corpus going forward. A definitely must try!

I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! The café is absolutely charming with a bright, cozy vibe that makes you want to sit back and enjoy your morning. I ordered a coffee, the French toast, and everything tasted so good, fresh and was made with care. It was one of those breakfasts that simply puts you in a good mood. Even though the café was busy, the staff never seemed rushed. They were kind, welcoming, and made everyone feel taken care of. If you're in Corpus Christi, I'd definitely recommend stopping by for breakfast. Good food, great coffee, and a lovely atmosphere--I know I'll be back the next time I'm in town.

Flavor was great but it was really tough. I understand it's day old croissants I just don't remember them being that tough. My husband ordered a full breakfast and it came out with 2 items missing. I asked to see the menu. It didn't come. The server brought out 1 additional item. I said it was still missing something and asked to see the menu again. Was told everything was there and my husband said it was fine so I let it go. He enjoyed the breakfast but the baguette piece of bread was a joke. One small slice. So he ate the croissant with his eggs. He didn't even use the butter or jam since there wasn't any bread for it. Then the bill came and we were charged for the drink that was supposed to come with it. We told the server. She said that the drink wasn't included. My husband said it was and asked her to see the menu again. No menu. She did go check and it was taken off. Once we got home I looked up the menu and yes the prosciutto I kept asking for was included and never given to him. Really disappointing. For the price this experience was a joke.

Do not be deterred by the size or age of the facility. This place has been in business since 1940s, so the interior of the restaurant is showing its age for sure. That said, the variety of the options and the quality of the food was worth every penny (and it's actually not a lot of coins at all!). We left the $47/pp brunch buffet behind at the Omni and I'm so glad we did!

There are quite a few booths as well as bar seating. We're glad we chose the bar. Our server was upbeat, informative and knew her business. We went for the special, meatloaf with your choice of tomato sauce or brown gravy and we chose the brown gravy. It was so good. I asked if we could buy the whole loaf. They said they do sell pieces à la carte. We paired it up with french fries, and a vegetable. We also had the home made French bread toasted which had the old diner flavor and was terrific. That special came with a choice of salad or soup and we opted for the salad. And you get desert!! Small piece of strawberry short cake (angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream), all for $12. A hit! The only thing they could improve upon was the salad. It was a small salad made from iceberg lettuce and of course we got to a few of the not so good pieces of iceberg lettuce. Can't wait to go back and try some other of their menu items.
