Visit 2: dined in and ordered carne asada plate, delicious. Visit 3: got breakfast thru the drive thru, chilaquiles with egg mixed in, no salsa ranchera They made the corn tortilla chips very soggy and there were ONIONS which I do not like and which was not disclosed, only ate a quarter or the top layer of the plate. Visit 4: was sick with vomiting so got tortilla soup. Chicken was cooked but not tenderized. I liked the one from Cancun's better. Visit 5: brought hubby here. He commented that carne guisada was overcooked, I tasted and agreed. I put this place to the true test by ordering menudo... and they failed. Menudo tasted like they didn't wash tripas after parboiling them. Each bite was initially good follow up by an uncomfortable, dirty aftertaste. My verdict: not bad, just mid. Maybe some issues with quality control. I'll be back to try the seafood though.

I mean the steak was well done but yet juicy almost impossible to do. The enchiladas were flavorful and stuffed with chicken. Pro tip don't forget to ask about their sauce selection it really elevates any dish

My boyfriend and I recently visited Yola for lunch after having it on our list for quite some time,…read moreand it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a warm, inviting atmosphere and a beautifully designed space that made for the perfect date spot! We started with the Queso Fundido and Nachos con Carne, both of which were recommended to us--and absolutely did not disappoint! For our main course, we shared the Tacos de Asada and the Birria Lunch Special. Not only was the lunch special a great value, but it also came with some of the best beans I've had in a while-officially my new favorite! Everything we tried was rich in flavor, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu. If our first visit is any indication, I know we won't be disappointed!

Incredible value! I chose the asada and birria tacos. It was my first time trying birria, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but one bite completely changed my mind. The flavors were rich, bold, and layered in a way that kept surprising me with every bite. The rice was perfectly fluffy and packed with flavor--honestly, it was almost as good as my mom's, and that's saying something! The charro beans had just the right amount of spice and were absolutely delicious. Even the presentation was impressive; every plate looked as good as it tasted. Huge compliments to the chef and the entire team for creating such an amazing dining experience. Great food, great value, and wonderful service. We'll definitely be back, and I can't wait to try more of the menu!

What a treat to find in downtown Corpus! After great experiences at El Camino's sister restaurant,…read moreWater Street, we expected good things and were still blown out of the water! Right from the jump, our friendly server brought us complimentary chips with salsa and two sauces. All were delicious and a perfect holdover as we dove into the menu. I am finding that 5 pm is "early" in Corpus and the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but started to pick up by the time we left. For us, we didn't mind at all as service was attentive and speedy due to the emptiness. We ended up kicking off with drinks in the form of a paloma and a desert rose (I never pass up an opportunity for mezcal) and both were perfectly balanced in flavors. To eat, we shared small dishes including the Tex Mex BBQ oysters, tuna tostadas, and side cheese enchiladas. All three were 10/10 in their own way! The oysters (which I usually prefer raw) had such a deep and developed flavor I could have eaten 12 on my own. The tostadas - a fresh and bright bite welcomed in the heat of the summer. The cheese enchiladas? Simple, but executed perfectly! They were reminiscent of a local place I used to frequent when I was a kid, and have ever since compared all enchiladas to. Rarely do I find a good match, but to my surprise El Camino delivered. As with other businesses in the area, expect to find street parking and to take a bit of a stroll (absolutely worth it when you pop into other places along the way and make an event of it). Once you enter the doors, you are transported into a completely different atmosphere where you no longer feel you are in downtown corpus. The decor is fun and bright, yet welcoming and warm and there is plenty to look at! I look forward to returning to try more!

Food was great, huge portions so beware. Our server came by frequently to check on us. I drink so much tea but she did an ok job keeping it full. My wife had the rellenos and chicken enchiladas combo plate, and she loved it as well. The service was on point! Montana was our server, and she was perfect. The beans on both plates tasted like they were overcooked and the guacamole took away from the overall flavor of the nachos with a weird after-taste. The extra jalapeños I ordered had ZERO HEAT. Isn't that what jalapeños are for? Overall, it was sub-par in terms of a flavorful experience . I will say that as usual the chips and salsa and ranch dip (or whatever) were TERRIFIC! I hope this helps.
