This is a little grab and go snack shack just off of the main boardwalk in Venice Beach. It's well decorated and colorful. - I purchased the fries and I found them very delicious. The person taking my order was polite and answered all of my questions. The service was quick and I enjoyed my experience.
Ordered a box of chips because I smelled it from someone else and asked them where they got the fries. They are hand cut Belgian type fries where it's thick cut and perfectly crispy on the outside and piping out in the middle where you go "ahhh ahhhhh ahhh" with your mouth because it's so fresh and hot. I captioned the photo "fry facial" because you are literally getting a facial with the steam when you opened the box. It comes with two toppings and a sauce if your choice. I went with garlic and rosemary. Winning combo when it's already seasoned with salt. Every bite had both. Couldn't even finish because the order was plentiful. Will def come back.

Otherwise, it's a tiny hole in the wall, in a weird eclectic area, that I would've walked past. But we drove here, specifically for this place. Anyway, They were right. The classic Fish & Chips is BIG and fantastic. Very filling. They offer spices for their fries too. Obvi I went with the jalapeño seasoning, and it was GREAT. Super helpful employee who explained all the options well. If anyone I know goes to Venice, I will recommend this spot.

Entree is sharable for two people as like a satiating snack portion otherwise I recommend ordering double. Wished there was more seating right in front of the shop as there is only one dedicated two-seat table and a bench (the neighboring food spots provide more). Overall I recommend checking this place out if hunger strikes while exploring Venice Beach!
This was hands down the worst fish and chips I've had in Los Angeles. The manager admitted the fish were pre-bought sticks--likely from Smart & Final. The calamari was overcooked and brown, the oil tasted old, and the batter had a strange chemical flavor. Both seafood items were bland and soggy. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you're just ordering the fries, which were surprisingly decent. Everything else? A deep-fried disappointment.
Was in the area and wanted to try this place. The fish and chips didn't impress me. The fish was crispy and juicy but it tasted like it was fried in old oil. We got the garlic fries and those were good. It was just average. I wouldn't come back. Staff was really nice and there's a few tables and chairs out front to sit and eat. Parking is beach parking that's paid or if you can find parking around Windward circle.
Wee Chippy has some Excellent fish & chips. Staff are Friendly and all the food was super hot. You get a lot of choices with all their flavors you want on your fries as well and I like that because they were super great! Bottom line give this place a try for fish, shrimp and fries! We will be back !!

Well their fries are thick hand cut delicious goody goodness! Not only that, they have VEGAN options!! Like, what?!? Yes!!! Vegan fish and chips, vegan sauces...yesss! They're located on Venice boardwalk area so it's quite touristy there (which we try to avoid) but given how delicious this food was, ughh it looks like I'll have to get over my avoidance of that area. Parking is what it is near the boardwalk...difficult lol, so if you want free parking, park a few blocks away and walk. Service was great and the food took about 15 mins. We will be back!
Simple and delicious. Took a nice long round trip walk from Venice to Santa Monica and was starving at the end. Saw this little hole-in-the-wall and thought, "why not?" The fish and chips here are so crispy and light. The fish has the perfect crunch and is so soft and buttery inside. The chips are also good. Get the UK curry and ask for it mixed with the garlic! The guy at the window recommended this combo and i'm glad he did. For a fully fried meal, it was surprisingly light. Not greasy at all and hit the spot! Had enough chips to take home to air fry and enjoy later.
Fish was crispy. The salt and dipping sauce options were plentiful. They even had vegan and gluten free options. Sold out fast (by 3pm).
This is the DEFINITION of FRESH, CLASSIC, FISH AND CHIPS. Whooo buddy this was delicious and still piping hot by the time we walked down the boardwalk back to our ocean front hotel! Not too many complaints other than it would be nice if they opened up maybe an hour earlier and stayed open a little later. Also it would be equally nice if they were a little faster but it takes time to make such high quality, scrumptious, and fresh food. You can tell your order was made fresh from scratch and they didn't just serve you stuff sitting under a hot lamp like Long John Silvers or somewhere else would give you. The whole family loved it and we highly recommend this spot if you're in the VENICE BEACH area but be prepared to wait! read more
I heard this restaurant has a rich history of being landmark fastfood places on Venice. I was excited to try it out. The price of $17 after taxes for a regular combo was nice. The owners are nice and the service was quick. The food was bland. Ranch and tar tar barely kept it decent. The fish was from the freezer or something because extra water was dripping out of it. We went here for a very casual dinner on a Friday evening. It's located right off the beach in an area that has multiple eateries. You order at a window and there is no dedicated seating, but some communal seating with the other restaurants. We took our food and ate on the beach. We ordered the fish and chips and the combo and chips (fish and shrimp). The portions were huge and then fish and shrimp were fried perfectly. You can choose a salt flavor for your fries as well and j chose a garlic seasoning. Would definitely recommend this place for a delicious but casual fish and chips. Only downside was the seating, but not too bad since you can just sit by the water. read more

Tucked away fish and chips spot off the boardwalk in Venice Beach. Small ordering window outside with the menu to the right. Opted for the Box O Chips ($4.50) to go along with jalapeno salt, chipotle ketchup, and chipotle mayo. The wait is surprisingly long, as it took 20 minutes for the order to be ready (fresh batch at least). Fries are cooked perfectly - crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Salt is not overbearing and gives it a slight kick. Sauces are good as well, probably would opt for the malt vinegar next time. Didn't have the fish, but if the fries are any indication then it's worth getting as well. read more

Food: 100% bomb. Well worth it to share a classic fish and chips between 2 people. Two 4 oz pieces of fish and the most delicious steak fries. Best part: it's all made fresh. The wait is worth it. Service: Amazing. The people behind the register were so cool. Ambience: Came at 4:30pm on a Saturday afternoon, and luckily found parking after only a few minutes. It was pretty busy so I would take this into account! You may need to drive around the blocks to see if someone is leaving the beach. There is an outdoor seating area that is adjacent to the boardwalk and gives a perfect view of the beach/sunset. We watched the sunset while we chowed down on our incredible dinner. 11/10 would recommend and will 100% be back, not just once but regularly. Ps: we met an artist while we are at this spot. If you're walking on the pier in Malibu and you're looking for something nice and fresh to eat, I would definitely recommend stopping by the chippy to grab something good. I called in to place my order, because Yelp was not working for me unfortunately to place one online, and the customer service over the phone oh my goodness was amazing. I felt like I was speaking with my best friend talking about good food. It took them about 15 minutes to finish making our meal, once I walked up to the window and handed my order with the big smile. I definitely felt the love! the fries are handmade. You can't catch handmade fries too often and they are YUM. That lime seasoning isn't too much or too little. They have seats outside and they were filled with happy customers as we walked up to get our food. And I'm a BIG sauce girl, every is 5 stars . Nice area to enjoy some food by the sand. Also the calamari was sold out yall, so that means ORDER IT lol. I missed my chance. read more

Stopped by during a bike ride and decided to try this spot. Ordered the wee kid's fish and chips. Which comes with one big piece of battered atlantic cod and fries and your choice of chippy salt. Cashier said the fire roasted garlic salt was the best so I went with that. The batter for the fish lacked a lot in flavor, but made up in crunch. I've had fish and chips in England and this spot was pretty good. If the batter had more flavor, it would have gotten a 5 star rating from me because the chips were incredible. Everything is made to order so expect to wait at least 15 minutes for your order. Great service and adequate seating with tables right off the venice boardwalk. read more
When on the West Side, we decided to seek out delicious seafood. My companion was craving fish while I had a hankering for calamari. Yelp led is to The Wee Chippy, a Scottish chipper sitting on a side street just off the "Boardwalk" I ordered the Seafood Combo (Calamari & Shrimp) and my friend ordered the standard fish & chips. Here are our highlights: - ALL of the seafood was amazing. Crisp, generous portions and golden brown perfection. Shrimp was prepared butterflied style. Loved all of it. - The chips (or fries to us Yanks) were good but overly plentiful. I wonder if there is an option to skip the fries for a reduced price tag. They ARE lovely but the garlic salt did not taste of garlic at all. Sad day. - The coleslaw was lovely and should be a larger portion. Or offer to swap chips for a large portion of coleslaw? - The sauces we chose: tartar, ranch, and marinara are all made in house. I preferred the tartar and marinara myself. Ranch could be a little thicker and more herbaceous, but that is my personal preference. Would recommend and if I dared to venture out to Venice more than once every five years I would def be there quite a bit. read more

Take a walk down Venice beach and you will be overwhelmed by the amount of visual stimulation you will experience as you venture your way around the beach. If you're not distracted by the art or street performers, your eyes will wander towards the little food stands and treats that await you on your journey! The Wee Chipy is tucked away in between some buildings, but not too far off the path. I would never have expected this little hole in the wall (literally) to pack such a flavorful punch! I've seen the little establishment, but never found my way there to try and taste it. After years, the timing was right and we managed to grab an order right before they closed up shop for the day. The fries were delicious! I decided to mix the two chippy salts together since I couldn't choose one, and the flavor explosion was perfect. The fish was breaded just right, and did not come out dripping in oil. I really appreciated the fact that it didn't make me sick after eating a fried fish! I wanted to try their truffle mayo sauce, so I ordered myself a side and it was well worth the extra dollar. It made the fries even more delicious and even paired well with the fish, in my opinion. My only regret is not trying this place sooner. A good fish and chip restaurant is not easy to find, and now that I've found myself a spot, I will be back! Updating my review cuz SHRINKFLATION is strong at this place. Food is great tasting but the portions were literally reduced to half (2 tiny pieces of fish and way too many fries/chips). Not sure if the portion you receive is based on who's working, there was a gentleman who answered the phone this time - sounded like the owner. Funny enough, the previous week I ordered the exact same Classic Fish & Chips and received the normal 4 nice pieces. Very disappointing as a Venice resident I always recommend this place - might give it one more try but if it happens again won't be coming back. read more

"Hole in the wall, Literally " BUT great fish n chips, house cut fries, food was hot and flavorful. Service was good with the lady at the register asking the needed questions. Took about 15 minutes for our order, but well worth it. The flavors you could put on your fries were like an added bonus. There was not a lot of seating as there were like 5 little eatery on the same spot. read more
