Fish, shrimp, chips and the sauces

After living in the area nearly 20 yrs, I finally tried H. Salt Fish & Chips. The vibe is definitely dated, but the customer service is good, and the fish is piping hot and fried on demand. I ordered the #6, regular combination with 3 fish, 2 shrimps and chips. Took about 10 minutes, I could hear them frying everything fresh in the back. The food is good, with big pieces of fish and shrimp. I was actually given about 5 pieces of fish and it was so much food I couldn't finish it all. The batter gets soggy after awhile and I wasn't sure the fish pieces I couldn't eat would survive the next day. Maybe air fry'd? All in all the meal was good, I'm glad I tried it. I enjoyed the shrimp more than the fish. They give a great selection of sauces. If you dine in they bring you a tray full of sauce bottles. Would I come back? Maybe for the shrimp, but not likely, and that's more on personal preference of how often I crave fish & chips. Bonus: ample parking, nice customer service, fast hot food. Bogus: pretty basic batter.

Big Ben plate...too much food for two people but just helps the bang for buck meter

My grandma used to take me to a different H. Salt Fish & Chips when I was a kid, and today I came chasing that nostalgic flavor -- and boy, it did not miss the mark. From the first crunch, it all came flooding back. The fish is perfectly golden and crispy, flaky inside, and the fries? Crinkle-cut perfection. No fancy plating, no frills -- just honest, old-school fish and chips the way it should be. Grab a soda, line up your sauces, and dig in. Sometimes simple really is the best.

I wasn't expecting much when I walked into H. Salt Fish & Chips, but wow--everything seriously hit the spot. The fish and chips were fresh, hot, super crispy, and clearly fried to order. I personally enjoyed the shrimp more--so good! I kinda wish they had a tempura-style dipping sauce, but to be fair, they already offer a solid variety: tartar, hot sauce, cocktail sauce, ketchup, and more. What really made the experience, though, was the woman working the front. She was so sweet and genuinely kind. She surprised us with an extra piece of fish and shrimp, and even packed up sauces for us to take home. You could just feel that she cared--it wasn't just about good service, it felt like she wanted us to leave happy. Sounds like they're under new ownership, and honestly, they're killing it. The vibe is chill and lowkey, but you can tell there's a lot of heart behind what they're doing. This spot has so much potential. Definitely coming back.

I'm usually not the type to write reviews. I eat, enjoy it, and move on. But this place made me stop and type one out because WOW!! Wait for it... WOOOWW!! Food: 20/10. Service: 20/10. It's under new ownership, and the improvement is honestly insane. I used to come here years ago, but back then it felt like it was missing many things. I decided to give it another try and it was an immediate BOOM!! everything is better. The staff was super friendly, fast, and attentive, and the food quality was on another level. The fish and chips itself are amazing, but they also have sushi and is seriously impressive... sashimi-grade fish, super fresh, and packed so much flavor that you only get on "expensive sushi restaurants" especially the tuna! True hidden gem. If you haven't been since the old days, come back. I'm definitely making this a weekly spot.

The fish and chips are made fresh to order. Order comes with tartar sauce. The fish was ok, the fries I was not a fan of. The service is exceptional, very friendly! Plenty of tables to dine inside. I ordered at the register and was told it would take 10 minutes and it did.

Came in again recently and had a great experience. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which really makes a difference. Got the classic fish and chips -- nothing fancy, just hot, crispy, and exactly what you want. Fresh, fast, and comforting. Glad to see this place still going strong!

    DONT miss the sign!

This is authentic crispy delicious fish and chips! I have been looking for you! I've had fish and chips in fancy restaurants that can't compete with this! And the sauces were great too! The best part is the owners. She was so sweet and delicate with her service! The dining room is simple and quaint. Nothing fancy but it's clean and efficient. And it came to the table FAST! Highly recommend and I WILL BE BACK!

The food is your typical bar food, consisting of burgers, wings and salads, nothing special. We ordered: "Southwest Chicken Caesar salad". Ordering is a breeze with the QR code system, and we lucked out by arriving during happy hour (Monday-Friday, 2-6 PM). Great deals on both food and drinks made it even better. I had the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with a wagyu patty and a soft, fluffy bun. At first, I missed the usual lettuce and tomato, but honestly ended up loving it just the way it came--I'd definitely order it again, especially at just $10. The happy hour fries were a standout too: crispy, well-seasoned, and a solid value. They've also got solid pizzas, a good beer lineup, and a surprisingly nice wine list. Whether you're in the mood for burgers, pizza, or just drinks with friends, this place hits the mark.

I got there with my mother and was greeted by a very lovely gentleman named Clark. He told us we could sit wherever so we seated ourselves in the outside area. He came over right away with the menus and asked if we had been there before to which we responded had not. He went over the menu with us and answered any questions we had regarding the menu. He was very sociable and friendly. We chatted with him and put in an order for the Kiwi Chowder. I ordered a Modelo and my mother ordered a glass of orange blend wine. He came over with the drinks a while later and the Kiwi chowder and have us plenty of time to sit and enjoy the dish before we ordered our main courses. The kiwi chowder was delicious and came with little crackers. The clams and mussels were so tasty and the Ora King Salmon was a nice treat. After a while he came back and served me the Fisherman's Mixed Basket and my mother got the Fish tacos with fish of the day for them being Sword Fish. The fisherman's basket was amazing and paired perfectly with my beer. I had never had clams, mussels, snapper, and oysters all together and they were so good I wish I could have them more frequently. The place was very cute and sat quietly with good music playing. Not current music but music that really fit the place and set the vibe. I will be coming back here and if you ever go, there is no bad choice for the fish, the service is stupendous and I haven't gotten anything like it in forever, and if you meet Clark enjoy a friendly conversation with him.
