This is a place where your experience will alter depending on what you order. Some plates are more basic in flavor profiles while others burst at the seems. Roasted Chicken : it's an easy go to, if you are on diet, (that's a choice you made, so go for this, you won't regret anything on this plate) the taste is basic. Steak Tacos : now we are walking over to more flavor. A good happy medium for those watching their calories but have a little wiggle room to enjoy a good corn tortilla and steak pairing. (Recommended Safe) Kale Date Squash Salad: a must. They don't have it on the menu all the time, but ask any. Flavor profiles shine in every bite. The service was friendly and the interior was bright, open and comfortable. I had the avocado toast with poached eggs which was delicious. My friend ordered the BAE toast which she also enjoyed. I came to The Well on a Saturday morning with a group of 4 girlfriends. Reservations - we made a reservation online and it was fairly easy to snag one. We did notice at around noon it was starting to get busy but overall seemed like they accepted walk ins as well and there was plenty of group seating and space for kids, strollers, etc. Parking - a couple of us were able to find street parking for free or cheap around downtown. There is validated parking at the parking a garage in the same building as The Well however this is only on weekdays! Food and coffee - This is the perfect spot to bring vegan, lactose intolerant, etc. friends so many good options! I ordered the purple hash. It was good but I only wish I had added some protein for it to be more filling. They had a ton of coffee options and multiple milk alternatives. I chose for something light, a beet salad and waygu bone broth to try. It was delicious and everything I wanted. They do not use any seed oils and have all organic, locally sourced food! Connor was my bartender last night and he was great! I sat at the bar and I ordered the 6 oz salmon last night for dinner along with the Brussels sprouts and the street corn. The salmon and Brussels sprouts were fantastic! The corn was good, but not my favorite. A little too much cilantro I think was the issue, but I still ate most of it ha ha. Bummed they were out of the organic apple crisp, but ordered the Golden Milk Ice cream instead ...which was AMAZING! Highly recommend. Today I went back for lunch and to work from the bar area and Rena (not sure of spelling- sorry if I messed it up) was so sweet and attentive. Today I ordered the green tea, Texas Waygu Steak Asada Tacos and the salmon tartare. All were very good! This time, for dessert, I ordered the Avocado Mousse because I was very intrigued! "It is not gluten free or preservative free." This would have been fine, I understand the concept of the restaurant but the night contNiue's to get worse. The hostess brings us to two tables separating our party of 10. Meanwhile, literally next door to that table is one large table set for a party of 10. I went back to the Mgr and said, "can we have the other table so we don't have to separate our group?!" he said, no problem and directed us to the larger table. Strike 2 Then our female server had an attitude like she was annoyed to be waiting on us all night. All of our table noticed it. It was beyond strange. Strike 3 When it came time to pay the bill. We wanted to split it. She mentions they can only divide by two cards and were unwilling even itemize by seat so we could see what we had. I really wanted to like this place . . in fact I've given it more than a fair shot and probably ate here at least 8-10 times since it's a popular pick for those who are health conscious, gluten and seed oil free - which is a huge plus! Unfortunately, not once have I been impressed by the food nor the service. The food not only takes forever to come out but it's also overpriced and nothing to write home about. You are paying for the atmosphere if anything. The service has also been awful. It's not that any of the servers have been rude, it's more so a LACK of service. My most recent visit, I took a couple here from out of town since I knew The Well was gluten free. The server came over and came across as she didn't want to be there. She was extremely soft-spoken and skipped over the whole intro for first timers. She did not have a warm personality. She delivered the plate of food and tipped it to where some of the food fell off the plate and almost onto the floor then the server awkwardly walked away after acknowledging what she did. She never came back to refill our coffee and tbh I don't remember even seeing her again after that. She never apologized or checked back in to see how the food was. After waiting around for more than 30 mins post-eating, I had to go up and ask for the check myself as she was MIA for our table. It's not even like it was busy. We made reservations and there are specific instructions on which parking garage to park at, mentioning that The Well validates up to 2 hours of parking. Upon leaving, we ask them to validate our parking and they said they ran out. So we had to pay $23 to park which should have been free. They also overcharged the price of one of our drinks. I remember my first time eating here was just as awful of an experience. I gave them grace thinking / hoping it would get better but nothing has improved except for the atmosphere. After calling the manager and figuring out they were not connecting the Grab n Go items with the rest of the order, they gave us a $100 gift card. We were seated at the large table by the window and because of our size, did not have a choice in food other than the preset menu. Fortunately, the preset menu was great! It includes tacos, oats, eggs, avocado toast and a variety of other selections that were all really great. We all had plenty to eat. Their juices were good but overpriced and the drinks were also quite nice. Our group was worse for wear that morning but the food and drink definitely got us up and running again for the day ahead.
