A classic dive bar indeed. Looks like an old Pizza Hut restaurant from the outside. Plentiful parking, cool people from all demographics and friendly servers. Would love to see a few more IPAs, but all and all good selection. Dirt cheap too. We would definitely return. read more

A true gem hole in the wall. Stop in for a cold one, enjoy the view on their patio that had plenty of seating and great shade. Inside was full of cool decor, music, darts, a pool table and other games. They have a daily "power hour" that offers excellent drink specials. read more

Came in because I've met the night crew several times at my business and they're really nice people. I had nothing to do and really was in the mood to watch some sports with some food so I headed over. Walking in there are plenty of TV's all over, dark lighting, and a bar area up front. They have a pool table which is great because I love to play along with other games like darts. I actually don't drink but I like to enjoy a mock michelada still. The service was great and everyone was friendly and didn't make it weird that I was ordering something non alcoholic. I enjoyed my time here and will probably pop over more often to say hi to my friends in the night crew. read more

Love going to the Well Bar!!! Our favorite bartenders are Celeste and Kevin! Sarah during the day time on Saturday too....if we are there early enough. Company is good, drinks are a hell of a lot cheaper than Old Town and taste like they actually have alcohol in them!! John the owner is usually there if you are there early enough. I moved here from upstate NY so chill dive bars are all I knew. This place felt like home. The bartenders are usually very friendly, with one girl being the exception. The pizza nights are always good, mini pizzas. Cool pinball machine, darts, etc. nice patio area to smoke or just breathe. I love this place and can't wait to go back! read more

This BAR IS AWESOME! I googled - cool bars..after my Cholla trail hike... and went straight to have a cold beer... the place was super dive and people talk to strangers. The Well is an ok dive bar. $3 domestics, most of the staff is friendly, decent crowd. Been there probably a dozen times, usually with my wife, and I'd give it 4 stars based on those. We love a dive bar. But oh man, they had an off work bartender who was WASTED in there today, kinda trying (to help I guess?) to work but mostly just belligerent. The bartender who was actually working (and was perfectly nice) put the UFC on ESPN a TV for me, and I was watching for a half hour or so. The WASTED off work bartender got there later and didn't like watching the UFC, went behind the bar (is that ok?) and changed the channel herself. I said nicely I was watching that, and things quickly dissolved into her trying to fight me in the parking lot. Not kidding, she asked if I wanted to take it outside. I'm just kinda hanging out on corner, drinking Ultras, minding my own business. She wants a fist fight. This is all around 6:30 PM on a Saturday. I do appreciate the irony of not wanting to watch some fights on ESPN but wanting to fight me outside, though. She's not working, just kicking people out wasted and telling people what to watch. She said I'm 86'd but I'm not entirely how that works when the gal is drunk and not even working. Anyway, I don't want to give them 1 star, that's not fair to the business as usually it's OK, but holy cow Well get your house in order. Not coming back. She did say said there are a million bars close by and to go there, so technically she's correct. Great marketing! read more

Dive bar. I love my dive bars. There are a number of regulars who frequent the place that I enjoy sitting down with and saying hellos to. The drinks aren't too expensive, I suppose depending on what you're drinking. I like the fancy beers and I could easily grab em cheaper from the corner store but then I'd not get a chance to see the few I enjoy seeing. Not a place to expect all fancy, sometimes smells a bit like urine right outside of the bathrooms, so I don't sit close by. There is a pool table, darts, jukebox and a patio that somehow manages to stay tolerable in the heat. I like the bartenders, they all have their own personalities and deal with a bunch from patrons. We all have our days and I think they do a good job holding the place down. One night from another, you really never know what you're going to get. Did I mention, it's a dive bar... My favorite type of place. I can likely dress to the 9s or simply head over in sweats and a tee... either way, I know the beer will be cold. read more

This means that we should receive 2 bottles for $25.01 based on the special listed on your menu. When we received the check, we were charged $50.01 for the 2 bottles. We pointed out the mistake to the bar tender who said the price was correct. We informed her that we have come here approximately once/month for the last year and the cost has never been $50 for a bottle of Wycliff. She asked another employee to come over and we explained the same issue to her. She (we did not get her name) said she has been a Manager there for several years and that has always been the price. I told her we have ordered this special over the last year and we would never pay $50 for a bottle of Wycliff. She refused to adjust our check. I asked her to show me on a menu where a bottle of Wycliff costs $50. Of course, she was not able to do that because it doesn't exist. We generally are very generous with our tip, as we consider this a good deal and the staff is usually great. - I have attached a copy of the receipt. I didn't catch her name but the bartender was very friendly and attentive. Right after the drinks arrived the music started. It was so loud! You could feel the base in your chest! We could hardly hear each other talk over the music. Turns out there was a DJ we didn't notice when we walked into the bar. Now, the DJ's music playlist was great. However, it was so loud and played over all the games except they would pause during one of the games once in a while. I suspect they were trying to draw in a crowd but clearly that was not the way to do it when it's game day and people were obviously there to watch the games. We wanted to try something to eat off the menu but only stayed for a drink and left. It was just a miserable atmosphere with the loud music at 1pm in the afternoon. Lastly, we noticed the receipt had a "venue fee" charge. What is that and why? Why are we paying to sit at a bar? Just be aware of added fees charged to your ticket.

Updated review: Outgrown…read more Definitely not the same spot I remember from when I used to frequent it. Stopped in a few times and unfortunately the vibe just isn't what it used to be for me. At one point I asked for change for pool and a water. The water showed up, the change never did. Not a huge amount of money, but little things like that leave an impression. A few of the bartenders have a certain je ne sais quoi.... unfortunately not the warm, welcoming kind. There's a level of attitude that just doesn't match my personal experiences or memories of this place. The crowd has changed too. Different energy, different vibe, and maybe just not one I blend with anymore. Suppose I've grown up and maybe it's time to move on. It's a shame because this place was genuinely a staple for me and earned those five stars once upon a time. Back then, it was the staff and the atmosphere that made it. Of the latest visits, the only person who carried that same familiar energy was Derek. He wasn't even behind the bar, but as always, it was a pleasure seeing him. Not the five-star spot for me that it once was, but maybe it's just become a place for the next generation.

This place is pretty much usually a shithole. But I still go there because it's local and it can be fun on the right nights if you get lucky and other people end up there. I recently adopted a puppy that I don't want to leave home alone and they have been super friendly here but anytime that middle aged lady with the braces is working the bar she throws a fit and makes me leave. I would normally get over it, but I rode my bike several miles with the intention of spending some real money tonight on new years at one of my dog friendly local bars and tried to get there just around midnight. As soon as I walk in she is making a scene about it and makes me leave. In fact it was probably the first thing this lady did in 2022 was be a dick to me. I hope that she and the owner both read this. Because I'm a pretty solid paying customer who will most likely never go there again or tip well because of this lady. read more

This is a good place to hang out, my girlfriend works at a near by bar and we always come here to relax when she gets off. I wish they served food but otherwise I think this place is cool. The bartenders usually come out to the patio and get us new drinks depending on if we know the bartender or not. They tried doing some DJ club thing here a few weeks ago and that was a total bomb I hope they dont do that again. Otherwise I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

We have been in this bar a couple times now. The vibe is great and the owner is really cool but... He either waters down or mixes his top shelf drinks with wells. I am an avid Jameson drinker. It is pretty much the only alcohol I drink. I drink it neat, on the rocks, or in sours. I go through about a 750ml of it a week at home. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that what he is pouring from his Jameson bottle is NOT Jameson. read more

Was coming here multiple times a week to play games, occasionally eat some food, and have a drink. BITCH bartender-big girl usually wears baseball cap. all the rest are great, but she makes this place somewhere you dont want to go just even risking having her being there and having a horrible experience. I absolutely love this bar! Its such a great and fun dive bar. Its a great neighborhood bar to just relax after a hard day at work. They make strong drinks and have great prices. The bar was great but tall asshole bartender kicked me out because I tried to get his attention to get shots! Literally just slightly raised my had and he got all butt hurt about it. He had to be more drunk then anyone there. Nothing worse for an owner then his main bartender losing his bar money. read more

This place smells worse than a sewer. The bartenders either over serve people so they are too drunk to walk or kick the sober people out. They are horrible. And the owner is a douche bag. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

With it being Old Town, free street parking is your best bet. After dinner, I hopped on the trusty Yelp app to look up bars in the area. Porters Western Saloon came up... and here's the thing, that night, they were starting their Halloween pop-up. Couldn't say no to that! Ambiance (4/5): I love a good pop-up, especially when it's about my favorite holiday. Porters has both a downstairs and an upstairs bar. The downstairs bar is their typical country bar. Upstairs is where the pop-up's at. The upstairs area isn't huge, it can probably fit about 30 people or so. There are a couple of tables and we were lucky enough to snag a high top after ordering at the bar. Lots of Halloween decor added to the vibe. Service (4.5/5): The bartender, despite it being pretty busy, greeted us promptly. She checked in with us after we perused the menu, got our cocktails ready quickly, and explained how to work the cocktail (more on that later). Food (N/A): I don't believe they have food. Either way, we had dinner prior. Drinks (4.5/5): They had a special Halloween-themed menu with six cocktails or so. Out of the bunch, the cocktail served in a pseudo blood bag stood out. I've only had this type of drink once, in New Orleans. Not something you come across every day. We were given light-up glasses to pour our bloody concoction (which had a mechanism to open and close the tube). Tasty mixed drink, a little on the sweet side for me, but definitely worth the presentation. Make sure to check out the pop-up while you still can! I'll have to return to check out the downstairs bar. And to see what other pop-ups they have at other points in the year.
