We were a party of 8. We were seated on time and had a nice table. That is where it ended. Our waiter (J..) was too much and rushed us. He continually referred to me and the other three women, as 'my dear' each time he addressed us. Little too familiar for my liking. The food was a 6. Two got the fried chicken with mac and cheese and said it was barely edible. The sole francaise was good but cold, with risotto like paste. Chicken was over-cooked and looked like it had been sitting in kitchen for some time---same for lobster roll. Mac & cheese was not warm so we sent it back. No spoons with soup served. The three of us all had an excellent dinner at the West End last week (early Aug, 2018). The broth in the mussels appitizer ranked with the best. The setting was very comfortable and lovely. Service was excellent. Overall, an excellent experience and have returned since then for a drink and that appitizer. read more

Had 7:45 reservations, sat down promptly, had drinks and appetizer, put our dinner orders in, we never got our meals as of 9:45 pm, our waiter kept lying to us saying our meals were forthcoming , then he says that they were real busy, meantime the table next to us turned over twice. Needless to say we never got our meals, I paid the bill, and walked out. They need to work out some of their internal problems, the kitchen and bar get taxed when they are busy , unfortunately they ruined a great evening, never going back. read more

This was singularly the worst dining experience on Cape. Ambience nice. Food, service, response to abysmal food and service by owner unbelievable. Not cheap I would have expected much, much better. Went for dinner not realizing there would be a limited menu because there was a show at the tent. VERY disappointed; 1) limited choices, 2) food was 'prepped'- not prepared to order (understand if you serve fast food), 3) not that tasty - had the flatbread which was bland with not much topping and main course which was dry. Went here as a second choice, and cannot believe we considered any other place! The food was incredible: truffle tots were a very tasty appetizer, the deconstructed lobster roll was just the right proportions, and everyone at our table loved dessert. The food was delicious and the restaurant itself had a pleasant ambiance. However, the service was horrible. My family and I sat down at 7:00pm and left at almost 9:30pm. Our waiter questioned my sister's ID when she ordered a sangria, but instead of politely asking for a second form of identification, he got uncomfortably close to her and made repeated comments about her bone structure. After 45 minutes, we received bread and drinks. Then, our waiter forgot the starter clam chowder. Later, he entirely forgot the second glasses of wine and steak knives. At the end of the meal, he offered to get the valet to bring around our car because that's "just something I do for my guests" as if bringing around the car was a novel courtesy. Overall, our waiter was inattentive, condescending, and pompous. I understand that there are always other circumstances in a person's life that we may not always see, but that does not excuse rude attitudes and poor service at work. Unfortunate, as the food was quite good and I enjoyed myself otherwise. read more

We had a terrible experience. One person ordered a steak cooked medium rare and it showed up well done. We sent it back and a replacement steak arrived well done as well. Two people ordered the gnocchi and both parties found it to be gummy and undercooked. We will never go back. read more

This was probably one of the most mediocre meals we've had on the cape. Our server was very nice, but the food was all so so. One of the steaks was incredibly overdone, so we sent it back, but by the time the replacement came everyone else had finished their meals with 20 minutes to spare. The manager comped us the bottle of wine, but for the quality of the food, this place is incredibly overpriced. The gnocchi was gummy and the manager's response was "we're busy over the holidays." Overall, an incredibly disappointing experience. Save your money and go to Naked Oyster instead. read more

I would say don't bother. We read the other reviews of The West End and were excited to try it; especially because it was across the street from our hotel. The room was overly air-conditioned and I was freezing. The manager moved us to the lounge but made a point of making fun of me in the process for being cold. The service was just okay. My husband got the sirloin and half of it was fat. It was not particularly remarkable or flavorful. The fingerling potatoes with it were good. I had the halibut with strawberry/pineapple risotto and raspberry sauce. The portions were very generous. The halibut was tasty, but dry and there wasn't enough sauce to add any flavor. The risotto was too gooey, had too much cheese, and the pineapple and strawberry just didn't go. The grille asparagus were fine. The server did not check on us once the food was served. I probably would have preferred some ground pepper and I definitely would have had a second glass of wine. We had dinner at Pain D'Avignon last night and it was outstanding. Eat there instead. read more

I'm truly HORRIFIED and DISGUSTED with how my meal went tonight. To start the hostess was very kind and overall ambience was fine...literally the only perk to the restaurant. The drink specials were terrible and flavors you just do not want in your mouth. They did come out in time though as well as the bread. My brothers meal was first to be done, which was fine considering it was a children's meal. Next to come was my mother's, father's and sisters. I waited another 20 minutes after that to receive my meal which is outrageous. I ordered the steak and every time I asked, the waiter would say it was "sitting". Then my grandmother had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get her food. This is unbelievable considering her meal was a short rib which, correctly prepared, should have been cooking all day and should already be prepared as soon as it is ordered. My sweet grandmother was already slightly infuriated but held back because she has worked in a restaurant before and gets it. But there was only 2 other families dining when we were there. What did set her off was the fact that when she asked where her meal was the waiter said he would come back with it, but then the manager came out and delivered the food like they had an already thought out game plan for when things went wrong. She insisted my grandmother let it go and try to food before she made a decision on what to say about her meal. The manager said she would come back and talk to her after she tastes the food, as if the short rib would be a miracle dish and make her forget about the 45 minutes she had just waited while everyone else had been served and some where almost done. Yes, my father at the time of her food arriving had cleared his plate which was quite large. My grandmother tried the food and it was cold!!!! It was gross and tasted nothing like the description. The manager came back out and wanted to speak to my grandmother. To save us the trouble my grandmother insisted they go to the corner to speak to not disrupt the other diners and our party. When my grandmother tried to say something the manager kept asking what she could do to make it better and if she was at blame for this incident. Of course your at blame, you run this establishment!! She kept trying to defend herself and assure not only my grandmother but myself and my father that it was not her fault. When the dinner was finished me and my father stayed to pay the bill and pack my somewhat okay steak. I mean I wouldn't want to just throw away a highly overpriced steak. Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, the lying, defensive manager came over to our table with the bill. She explained that she had removed the short rib from the bill before it was even served because she was so embarrassed, which was a complete lie. The next part is what truly dumbfounded me. She then trash talked my grandmother to MY FACE!!! What??? She proceeded to say that she had been working in the restaurant business for over 25 years and had never been talked to the ya my grandmother talked to her and said she had called her cuss words and sweared at her. My grandmother would never stoop to that level or say anything like that. She rarely even gets mad like she did! She lied right to my face and some ill about my grandma. Insult me all you want but, you have NO RIGHT to hurt my grandmother! EVER! And how dare you try to defend yourself against my own grandmother, the person who I love so dearly! Seriously? I forgot my sweater and went back in to get it when my mom wanted to say something about how the manager and just lied to my face and said something completely rude and untrue about her mother, my grandma. The manager then clapped in my moms face and kept saying she had never encountered such a rude person in her restaurant. Everyone who works in the restaurant industry knows that even in your first week of work, whatever position, waiter, manager, owner etc., you will gets sweared at and yelled at! I wish I could give this review -5 stars but one is the least you could give it. I think it is safe to say that this was the worst dining experience of my life and I will never be attending this restaurant again, which is a shame because this was my first (and last) time going. read more

Atmosphere is nice. Drinks are great. The food is hit or miss... the truffle tots were excellent, mac and cheese was good, the fried chicken was not good at all. The 1 star is because of the terrible service my party experienced. After sending back 2 full plates of food and informing the waiter that it was not good, his response was "Aw, I'm sorry." There was no offer to bring a replacement or ask if we wanted something else, he didn't care at all. He also didn't care that they were out of the desserts that were supposed to be included with the price of our meal. Also very disappointed that there was no response from management when these concerns were expressed. Definitely expected more from an "upscale" restaurant. read more

No thanks. I thought the interior was gaudy and awkwardly laid out. I had the gnocchi which was swimming in the heavy, though not bad tasting, porcini mushroom cream sauce. It should have been under the soup category. My friend's drink was not made correctly. Our waitress was unsatisfactory. I am stunned by the people who like the renovation. WE went to the brunch on Father's Day, and it was a total disaster. The place was mobbed, and we had a reservation, made early on. They only had one guy to Make omelets, Make waffles, AND Slice Prime rib. The wait was enormous, and no one was happy. The offerings were meager at best, and after you scooped corned beef hash and potatoes on to your plate the wait was on for 20 minutes plus for the omelet, waffle or prime rib. The guy was more interested in talking than working, so it extended the wait even more. He said his assistants did not show up. But he did not work any faster. I asked for 2 eggs over medium for my friend, and when I brought them to the table, they were RAW!!!! Then, the brunch ad said there was salmon and eggs benedict, and neither were on the extremely limited buffet-- we were not happy, or full. I spoke with an alleged manager, and she said that they deleted the eggs benedict for Father's DAY..... REALLY???? She said they could get us some since they eggs were raw, and she produced 4 alleged eggs benedict. Guess what they were all RAW!!! They cut our bill by two of the four brunch charges, It was NOT enough. STAY away from this mickey mouse brunch!!!!!! read more

Let me start be saying that this restaurant is beautiful. It offers valet parking and a beautiful bar and parlor area. The low rating provided here is 100% related to service. The drinks are spectacular! The food was delicious! The service is lacking. We arrived on time for our 7 PM reservations. We did not want to sit in one of the small tables in the bar area, so chose to wait for a table in the restaurant area. The hostess asked us to wait in the parlor area and that they would come and get us when our table was ready. After almost an hour, my husband went to the hostess stand to ask how much longer. The hostess seemed confused not remembering that we had been waiting. At that point they were able to seat us immediately. The waitress, while delightful, really was not attentive to our needs. Needs as simple as bringing butter, soda, and our bread. It seemed to take forever to get anything including our meal. The bus girl Anna Maria was extremely attentive and was obviously working hard that evening. As I mentioned previously, our meals were very good. But the service needs an overhaul. read more

We were excited to try this restaurant for the first time. It looked nice inside - obviously they had done a lot of renovations since the last restaurant was there. The service was very poor. The server only had one other table when we first arrived. He brought the wrong drink to one person in our party, and it took forever for him to come back. Perhaps the bartender was busy, but it felt like instead of coming back to take our dinner order, the server stood around waiting for the correct drink to be made. When he finally came to take our order, I asked for a substitution for a vegetable. He couldn't tell me unless he asked the cook. So he left again to go ask the cook, and once again he was gone for what seemed like forever. When we finally got our food, we had been there for almost 2 hours. My husband got the pork tenderloin, which was oily. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken and the batter came out soggy. The chicken was ok; not delicious. Both my husband and I would not order the same thing again, though we won't be going back to this restaurant, so that is a mute point. The bright spot was the side of mac and cheese and a young man who tried his best to keep my water glass filled. (I drink a lot of water.) We went into the restaurant excited to try a new place, hoping it would be a restaurant we would love and want to return to over and over again. Disappointed! read more

Our party of four had an early dinner Sunday night. From the moment we walked in, to the time we left, we had a wonderful experience. We started with perfectly made old fashions at the bar and were impressed with the ambiance of the lounge. It's clear that a lot of thought was put into the details. The host was gracious and accommodating while assisting one of our guests who has mobility issues and that continued the entire evening. Our sever Carey was knowledgeable, kind and efficient and made great suggestions . We started with the brussels sprouts roasted with honey and walnuts and truffle tots for an appetizer- such a treat, we were all happy. The presentation of our food was meticulous. My husband had the fried chicken which was cooked perfectly, I had the West End Salad which was a generous portion of baby kale, avocado and pears tossed in blue cheese with jumbo grilled shrimp. Our guests had the creamy porcini gnocchi and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The manager Tamara made a table visit to ensure we were enjoying, and her smile and genuine energy made us all feel at home. Between the creative menu, the beautiful decor, the service and the overall warmth of the staff we encountered... we can't wait to visit again. read more
