We generally enjoy the Wharf which is why we tend to dine here when we come up to Crosslake almost every off weekend. Unfortunately this is the week of the 4th of July so it has been very busy. it is very understandable therefor that meals may take some additional time. You might think spending thousands of dollars in a place annually and treating staff with respect would get you somewhere when times get tight but you would be mistaken. We have been sitting in the same place for 3 hours and just recently got our substandard meals. They were served a good while after our neighbors who arrived an hour after us. I don't feel slighted personally though because we received our meals before the adjacent table who arrived an hour before us. Do yourself a favor and skip the tip because it makes no difference. read more

Horrible service by high school interns. Order was recorded incorrectly on iPads. Food was delivered across a time frame of 30 min. 5 of 6 people in the party had finished their meals by the time the sixth person received their food. We have always enjoyed the Wharf but last evening we went for dinner and I ordered the shrimp basket which is on their specialty list and was really disappointed. Only 5 shrimp with more breeding than shrimp. When I expressed my disappointment to our server his reply was "well that's how it comes" I don't think we will be back for dinner any time soon. read more

Great boat watching but with weak mixed drinks and poor food, it will be a long time until I eat there again:( I would advise getting a beer and not a mixed drink. read more

I believe the prices are quite high for a casual, laid-back place. The first server (who said she would not be our server) said she did not drink so knew nothing about the beers on tap. Beer served in plastic (I know, it is a wharf, but we were "dining" inside). Just glad my overpriced $8 glass of cheap wine came in a glass. A burger would end up costing about $12 (bison burger, add a couple more). The captain's walleye was a very skinny hard-fried little filet on a generous pile of fries. A companion had a steak sandwich which looked quite good, wish I had ordered that instead. I don't mind spending if the value is there, I didn't find it here. read more

Went for breakfast and ordered eggs Benedict.eggs hard so sent back. Told 45 minutes to get new order. Cancelled order. They still bought out reorder and just as bad. Talked to manager and she made excuses rather than rectifying situation. We are locals and love this place off season. Apparently once it's season mgmt does not care about quality. Skip this place, unless you like lousy service and food. Ribs are not meant to be prepared in a slow cooker. Once our food was delivered we never seen the waitress again till she dropped the check off. They probably missed out on selling about 12 or so cocktails from our party. My family has made The Wharf our regular dining spot for more than 20 years. July 4, 2016 we stopped for lunch with out 2 small grand children. We were told we could only order drinks no food for an unforeseeable amount of time. We waited for an hour and were still told they did not know when they could take food orders. We watched table after table leave indicating they had never heard of anything so ridiculous. I have to agree. We too left and will NEVER go back. We will patronize Moonlight Bay, Manhattan Beach or Zorbaz. Smarten up Wharf, you are not the only restaurant on the chain. Limit your food options at busy times. read more

Friday 1:30pm server Kaylee (not sure of spelling). We took a table on the lawn, 2 adults & 4 kids. We waited while several servers &/or staff walk by cleaning other tables. We asked about menus, they said our server would be right with us. 10 minutes later we asked Kaylee if she was our server, she said yes & gave us menus & took our drink order. When she brought our drinks, she said she would take another drink order & then get our food order. We patiently waited while she took drink & food orders for the table next to ours. She then disappeared without taking our order or even saying anything to us. We then waited another 10 minutes, then left. I have been in the service industry for several years & have never seen such disregard for customers. We will not be back. read more

We love the wharf and go every year at least a few times while on vacation by boat and car! Usually spouse gets the burger my son always gets the cabin boy and loves it and I love the Reuben! I have to say the only reason for the 4 stars is because we have a huge family group of 7 kids and 18 adults and this is one place where we get really slow service and drink refills and orders always come out wrong and without sauces or with things on food that aren't supposed to be on them. They need to prepare for bigger groups, we are by far not the only bug group- most groups are big groups on vacation up there. They could even through another server on to help out. 5 years ago it didn't used to be this way. It's too bad bc it used to be our absolute favorite. Breakfast has also slipped a little bit. But we will always be fans and the boat docking is nice and the kids like to go over and feed the fish bread and fries when they are done eating from the grassy area. Oh the only other thing too- they allow smoking out there and that blows all over out there and it can get really really bothersome to nonsmokers while we are eating with our children. read more

Nice place for drinks. Food leaves a lot to be desired and the food service is horrendous.

Great atmosphere and they had no problem handling our 16 person group even on an already busy day!
