Located about halfway between Hague and Ticonderoga NY, the Wind Chill Factory serves the best ice cream (soft serve and hard) in the area. Recently stopped in (twice in two days) w best friend, Hopalong Casualty, formerly known as Pots & Pans. I had a medium cup of soft serve pumpkin and maple flavored, HC had a med cup of chocolate and pumpkin swirled. Second day, more of the same. Delish. My last review of one star, several years ago, was due to poor service on a food order. I still need to try again w food, although they do a really brisk business in the summer for everything. I stopped in after a long day exploring the area, and ordered a burger, fries, and hard cider. The cider was very good, but I do not know the type. The burger didn't hit the mark for me. I believe it needed seasoning, which was lacking. read more

Absolutely loved it! The perfect little spot to eat out on the patio during the summertime! I had a personal pizza with black olives and mushrooms, and a large Pepsi. Note that a large soda is very very large! The pizza was amazing! I was expecting something along the lines of school lunch, but it was fantastic! The crust was the perfect texture, and they don't skimp on the toppings! Very affordable as well! The staff are super friendly, they were quite busy as I ate here around lunchtime on a Saturday in early June with beautiful weather, but it was still quite quick service! read more

Overpriced burgers and sandwiches with poor organization. Stopped here after visiting Fort Ticonderoga for lunch. The place was already busy, hut most wre having ice cream or shakes. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger w/ ketchup only, a mushroom Swiss burger with ketchup, mayo, lettuce tomato and onion, no pickles, a Philly cheesesteak with onions peppers and provolone, a side of onion rings and 2 beers We didn't wait long, maybe at most 10 minutes for our food. The beers we got maybe 5 minutes prior to the food. When we got our food, the burgers through the wax paper looked exactly the same..nd when I opened them, they were not our orders. Went back up to the pick up counter with my receipt and the guy checked and verified it wasn't ours. He then went behind the counter to look on the other trays, he didn't open the wrapped burgers but kinda looked through the paper to determine which was ours. My burger was still incorrect (pickles) but I just gave them to my husband. His Philly cheesesteak was disappointing For the amount of money spent for the sandwich, it lacked substance (meat). The onion rings were tasty, fried just right, perfect crispness. My son was so hungry he gobbled up his burger saying, eh it's a burger. I've been coming here for years and overall it's a good, local spot for ice cream and has cheap, decent food. They can't, however, handle when it gets busy and it's busy often. You're waiting on food for at least an hour, online orders are completely disregarded so the wait is even longer, and there is zero organization on how the food tickets are processed. I'm completely understanding of when things are busy, but the lack of organization just makes for a waste of time. A strong manager/supervisor would do wonders for them. read more

I have a fish allergy so I can't eat it went to order some fries and thought they tasted funny went to ask the workers to find out they fry everything in the same oil so i couldn't eat anything there. There was no sign or indication anywhere. If you have food allergies I don't recommend coming here. read more

I can only speak to their softserve, which was excellent. It looked like they had a great variety including mix-ins and sundaes, and would definitely go here again. It's softserve, so not the richest and most excellent of possible ice creams, but you know where you're getting here. The food is delicious on every aspect, the same can be said for their ice cream. Me and my family spend 2 weeks up in Lake George, no trip is complete without getting Wind-Chill. It takes a lot for me to give less than four stars. A place to go to get ice cream, favorite foods and more but yet states due to inflation prices go up. So that is understandable and as I see, purchased and disappointed based off yes your cost have gone up when your pricing was already extremely high compared to other ice cream stops. Honestly, I do prefer genes but this is about Wind- Chill who does not give breaks to community but takes advantage of the summer holidays and honestly has always been extremely high in pricing so what was the point of increasing your cost, cutting portions when your pricing was already high. Just an opinion since the attitude from the staff half the time is not even pleasant. Every summer we stay at a house just a few minutes from Windchill. Within a week, we probably go there at least 3 times. With a rotation of flavors, I'm sure you'll be able to find one that's just right. Besides the ice cream, the food here is pretty good. The food was fine, considering it's an outdoor-seating ice-cream stand w/ burgers and a nice variety of other not-very-fast food -- generally speaking this is my kinda place when traveling with the family, I really wanted to like it, it has a nice vibe. The staff were pleasant enough but completely overwhelmed by a pretty modest number of customers. We were told it would take 30 min for our order, though there were only a handful of others there, and none of the food is complicated in any way. Everyone in our party but myself got their orders in about the advertised long amount of time. My order took 20+ min longer than the next to last person in our group -- and it was literally a burger and fries, nothing fancy, almost an hour from when I ordered. I know it's not fast food, but this was really not fast. It's not scratch cooking either. Something in their process is not working. By the time I got my burger, everyone in our party had finished eating 15 min earlier, they were ready to leave. And the "grilled onions and grilled mushrooms" that I ordered -- and that they repeated back to me so I know the order was correct -- were raw...not "warm," just uncooked. I'm guessing they remembered at the last minute and tossed them towards the burger. And by that time, the otherwise good french fries were stone cold. Of course they'd been sitting there a while before they started cooking the burger (and forgot to cook the toppings). Note: cold greasy stuff is much less yummy than warm greasy stuff. Normally, I'd give this a 1, and I don't do that often. But in fact the people were very nice and seemed to be trying. And the portion of my food that was cooked was tasty. So, let's give 'em the benefit of the doubt, I'm saying 3. It really does seem like a decent place, I'm hoping we just happened to hit 'em on a "terrible horrible no good very bad day." My advice: go on a day when you can afford to wait a while, you don't mind sitting outside, make sure they understand your order, and don't expect to get your food at the same time. read more

The flavors do change regularly, so look at today's offerings at the center of the menu board, or on a sandwich board by the ordering windows. The twinkle sprinkles are also totally worth a try. THIS IS A MUST! We went kayaking at Owl's Head and wanted something to eat for lunch. We came across Wind Chill on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. THANK GOD we did. We were obsessed from first bite. I ordered the personal pizza, which was just enough and so so good. The cheese was perfectly melted, and nice and hot. I loved the fact that they put the pepperoni under the cheese!! The sauce was fabulous and seasoned just right. If you want pizza, but don't wanna order a whole pie, get the personal! My boyfriend ordered the steak sandwhich, and he LOVED it. Said bread to meat ratio was spot on, the meat was seasoned wonderful, and the veggies were perfectly cooked. We also order motz sticks, and they were fresh and crispy and totally yummie! You can tell everything is hand made with care here, and it's worth any sort of wait! We waited maybe 10-15 mins? But TOTALLY worth it. We also went back for ice cream and YUM. I got the raspberry vanilla swirl in a waffle cone and it hit the spot. A total must go to place. Ordered $19 worth of food, and they wouldn't deliver because the order wasn't over $20. Even though they charged a $6 delivery fee to deliver 1.25 miles away. The lady who took the order asked me to hold on after every word so she could type it in her computer but still messed it up. Good help is hard to find around here apparently. The soft serve ice cream is awesome. Lots of favors to try. The portions are nice. A small cone is enough for most people. Stay away from the smoothies they taste like there is dishwater in them. Stay with the milkshakes and cones and you can't go wrong. read more

An oldie, but a goodie.... my friends and I had to stop by here on our way home from visiting our old summer camp. We used to go here all the time, and it's still amazing, but it's much slower than usual. The food is decent, but anything relatively healthy is bleh.... so my grilled chicken wrap was very bland.
