His African-American cashier was cordial enough asking if we had an account. We bought a white and a red and a sparkling. The second time I wanted to see if service was a one-off. It wasn't. Every other wine/liquor store I've been to in Manhattan that has a higher rating, deserves a lower one than this shop. The inventory is well-displayed, there is a price for everything and I appreciate how the store owner/manager/designer sectioned their inventory. I know nothing about wine but I walk into this store and suddenly feel like I know what I'm looking for. The design is great. There is always the same sweet lady working the register/store. I assume she's the owner. Every time I've gone in, I've asked for a recommendation from her and have never been let down. I ask for a tasty yet inexpensive recommendation, she leads me right to what I'm looking for (they have a huge inexpensive (?) wine stock). Such efficient customer service is rare in midtown, which is really all I want when I buy a bottle of wine. And I really appreciate how she speaks to me, like a local. For a bottle of wine $20 or under it's fine. Once I had a last minute birthday request from my husband for "a little bottle of Johnny Walker Blue". I definitely paid the sucker price for the last minute request, and I know where to get is in Brooklyn for a lot cheaper. But since I was in that predicament, I opted to get the special Chinese New Year, Year of the Dragon bottle for $20 extra... which is a work of art and absolutely made my husband's night and he will be talking about for years and years. They do have some special and rare bottles that make for great gifts, but if you have more time to do your research even the rare bottles can be found elsewhere where for significantly cheaper. Oh well, it is what it is. Say, that bottle did not last through the night but at least it was genuinely appreciated with good friends. This liquor store is better than others in the neighborhood, I am glad that they exist.

If you're looking to pick up a solid bottle for a party they have bulk stock of all the classics for way cheaper than the other stores around.
