The Woods is like The Lodge's older, classier brother. Like The Woods went away to college and came back a little more mature, but still has a fun crazy side. If that makes any sense at all, as I am usually a few drinks in before making it here. Located upstairs, it has a slightly fancier vibe than The Lodge, but still fun to stop in for a drink. Great selection of bevvies, from your usual mixed concoctions to a great craft brew list. A little more modern decor, and while The Lodge has an older, fun music selection, The Woods plays a little more current mix. This is a good spot to stop in the chill in between dancing at I Bar and The Lodge. And, as all bars are, fun for people watching! read more

I grew up in the Midwest and in that neck of the Woods (pun intended) the bar you visit the most is your "local". If there is such a thing as having a "local" anymore, well than The Woods is my favorite local craft cocktail bar in Orlando and one I visit often. The decor is a beautiful and inviting mix of wood and metal. Dim Edison bulb lighting make you feel like you have escaped Orlando a bit. The location just above their sister bar The Lodge on Orange Avenue in the heart of downtown is perfect. I also like that it's upstairs. Seated at the window you can see all of the craziness that happens on a weekend evening in downtown Orlando. Now, on to the beer and cocktails: 1. They make the best hand muddled old fashion in Orlando. I typically go for Bullet Bourbon in mine. 2. The beer list is vast and changes weekly. Ask the bartenders for their recommendations as 99% of the time they have tried them and are not just trying to up sell like other bars in town. The staff: Some of the friendliest and fun people in Orlando. These aren't bartenders that were trained at an Applebee's, these guys know how to make cocktails. Challenge them with something unique and they always know how to make it! The door to The Woods is a bit hidden. The door is located to the left of the door to The Lodge. This is such a cool bar! I love the lanterns on every table and the cool wooden oddly shaped tables. I also love Bacon Wednesdays! With every drink purchase, you get a slice of bacon! And this is no ordinary slice of bacon, it was the best bacon I've ever had! Not too salty, seasoned nicely, with a charred edge and very meaty! Their drinks are great too! Such a great bar. I am from DC, and we have a lot of bars like these, that just to hang and chat with friends. So of course I have a somewhat good idea of what place should be nice, (not too much hehe) this place Has tables with seats and the bartender? Or server actually comes out to you and asks if your still doing ok and need anything else. It's a great chill spot if you want to do something low key and not go out to any club. We came in for our first time last night and really enjoyed it. I love the fact that for a Friday night it wasn't extremely packed. We were able to get 2 seats at the bar within 5 min. We were comfortable the whole time. The min we got to the bar, the bartender immediately handed us menus and 2 glasses of water without asking. I was super impressed. Not a lot of places are as attentive and/or as thoughtful when it is as busy. Drinks were great and the ambiance was nice. I would def return whenever I am in town. read more

Very nice upstairs lounge with an awesome beer selection. The list isn't huge but they had new things for me to try that I haven't had yet. The staff is friendly but not pompous so that's a plus. The bartenders are very knowlegable and friendly. I had a drink called the tracker and it was delicious. Bartender recommended it to me. The also have Foxtail coffee which is great tasting as well. The woods atmosphere is cozy and chill a little upscale and modern which I adored, but not stuffy. I think it is a great spot to take a date or to chill. We went here for a drink after work. It is not easy to find if you don't know where to look but we'll worth finding. They have tons of different kinds of beer if that is your drink of choice. I prefer cocktails and the selection here is lovely...all are made with ample amounts of liquor and with fresh ingredients. I had the East/West tango based with fresh strawberries it was pink and refreshing also tried the Unexpected Bullet which tasted like French Toast Yum! They will also make your drink of choice, my husband had a Margarita which he enjoyed very much. The decor is wood and the interior is calm and airy. Drinks range from 9 to 12 dollars. Amazing options for craft beer and craft beer cocktails. It's a mellow joint. No bells or whistles. Not a dive bar but a cool spot nonetheless. The bartenders and servers were quite nice and knowledgable. This upstairs bar had a couple of tables as well as a full bar. The only downside was no food was served here. read more
