Stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon. Love the vibe, with the bar and all the TVs. They had lots of beer on tap so we ordered a couple of local choices. I had the Firecracker Shrimp Tacos with sweet potatoe fries, they weren't very spicy and came out a little colder than I would have liked. I still enjoyed them though. My partner had the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and it was spot on. Our waitress was very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and even offered waters to go. Wow. I am a big fan of Foxiis. Wife and I stopped here for dinner one night during our trip to the area to see the eclipse. I had looked this place up because it had a very large menu and lots of things that she and I would consider eating. They also touted a large drink menu that my wife could take a look at. This is in the small downtown district and there isn't a ton of parking. When we walked in, there was a Rangers/Astro game on and some very enthusiastic fans watching. They were pretty loud. My wife and I sort of snuck around the side and got to some seating away from the main seating area. It had several TVs and was comfortable. We weren't really seen as we came in since we went around to the side, but our waitress found us quickly anyway to take our drink order. They serve Coke products, so I got water. My wife got a strawberry sour kind of drink. She told me it wasn't bad, but didn't taste exactly as described. Still, it wasn't too bad. My wife opted for quesadillas and while there were 5 or 6 things I considered (including a burger, which is what I usually opt for), I went for the firecracker shrimp tacos. I have had regular tacos and fish tacos before, but these sounded tasty and aren't the norm for what I would typically order. I can tell you that I made an excellent choice! These shrimp tacos were outstanding! The firecracker sauce was tasty and had just the right amount of heat. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the tacos didn't fall apart while eating them. I chose regular fries instead of sweet potato fries and they were a bit on the soggy side. i would have preferred they were a bit crispier, but they were solid enough and seasoned well. If I lived in the area, I would definitely come back to Foxii's. There is an assortment of food that I didn't get to try and the firecracker shrimp tacos was some of the best food I've had in quite some time. I was very impressed with this restaurant. My wife and I visit Dallas once every few years and I plan on making this a designated stop the next time we are in the area because it was THAT good. read more

Food was great. Had calamari for appetizers and it was great. Tasted very fresh batter was light and crispy and not chewy. For entrée had catfish platter. 3 pieces good size portion fried seasoned perfectly and crispy great taste. Come with cajun fries that were good and nice portion. We went here after the Heard Museum. Unfortunately, we were not aware that many restaurants close in downtown McKinney at 3pm on Sunday or else we would have eaten first and then done the museum. So, this restaurant was not our first choice but it was open so we went. There are some good things to say about this place. There is a decent beer menu. The food is good but not flawless. Prices are reasonable. The homemade salsa is worth a trip by itself, it was outstanding. Yet, certain problems prevent me from giving it more than 3 stars. My nachos came out barely warm. By the time I got half way done they were cold and the last couple were stone cold. It's a shame because otherwise the black bean nachos with chicken were delicious. The menu advertised "filet" (steak and frites) but the wife's steak was not filet but rather a cut of sirloin. It had good flavor and was cooked properly but it was rather chewy and not particularly tender. I was overcharged $1 on my nachos and $2 on the wife's steak. I call it "variance from the menu price" (ha ha). Maybe it's special pandemic pricing. I did not say anything but I don't appreciate it when the menu is not an accurate description of what you actually pay. As it turned out, karma evened it all out as the waitress forgot to charge for the kid's soda. There was one woman working who was hostess, waitress, bar tender, and bus girl. She was probably overwhelmed a bit but still was attentive to us. Even though she overcharged us, I still left her 20% because she was working hard and was not put in a good situation by management. Next time we are in McKinney I doubt that we will return because there are lots of other restaurants that we want to try. But I would say that the food is not bad. read more

First off this place is passed up all the time. I just assumed it was a bar that had finger foods. My husband and I came with our kids one night just wanting to try a new spot. When we walked in my husband was like, I don't think they allow kids it's a bar. Hahaha! To our surprise they had a seating area in the back and had a full menu of delicious food! When we sat I was honestly thinking ok this is gonna be greasy heavy bar food. It was anything but. The menu had very nice items to choose from. We got three apps, and two entrees and just shared family style. It was really tasty, great portions and the service was great being that the only server there was the bartender. This place really surprised me. Creative menu and everything we tried was excellent. Prices were great for the quality of the food.

So we have a new restaurant off the square. I think they are trying to be a sports bar with lots of TVs showing sporting events. When you enter you walk into the bar area. Then you step down into the dining area. It's brand new and the place was immaculate. I guess the disappointment is...if you are eating on the square, part of the charm is the old exposed brick walls and the allure of eating in a piece of history. This is new construction and lacks the charm of other eateries on the square. Our server was friendly and attentive. He was very helpful with helping us pick out our dinner items. We started with yummy bacon wrapped trio. Chicken, beef and shrimp stuffed with jalapeños and cheese, wrapped with bacon and sizzling on a fajita trivet at your table. It was served with garlic butter dipping sauce. The hubby had the chicken and waffles. He said they were good and he was happy about the generous portion of chicken it came with. We stopped in here for lunch on Memorial Day. We sat at the bar and received excellent service. I had one of the 'fancy' drinks, the Cucumber Sensation and it was pretty good, not the most amazing cucumber drink I've ever had but not bad. HOWEVER, they have the second cheapest vodka sodas on the square (first is Bayou Jacks). They are $4 for well, all the time which is a pretty decent deal. On happy hour, I believe it's $6 Tito's, which is a steal as well. I had the patty melt and I enjoyed it. A tiny bit greasy and the onions were waaaay too big (to be fair, I hate raw onion but love caramelized onion so I'm extra harsh). The fries that come with it were great-- crispy and seasoned well. They told me they'd be playing sound for all the Cowboys games and would be running specials. They definitely have the best place to watch it near the square! read more

I got the Angry Bird Burger and that was pretty solid! Fries were also great. Our food took a moderate amount of time to get to us, within reason. We came here on a double date and the other girl got the wrong order of fries and was graciously given a double helping of the correct fries. We visited the new McKinney location for the first time. It was a casual atmosphere. Disappointed that they didn't have a Rose, as it's the fastest growing wine variety and everyone carries it now. I had salmon with veggies and my husband had fajitas. They were both good but nothing outstanding. We'll try the burgers next time. It would be nice to have a signature dish that's sets them apart. A great roasted cauliflower or spinach artichoke dip. Hence the 3 rating, average but not outstanding. read more

Went in last night with a party of 8 to watch the fight and the place was packed! Made for a cool atmosphere to watch the fight. I had their wings and asked for the fire sauce with Lemmon pepper and boy oh boy were they yummy!! Just as good, wait- dare I say better, than pluckers!!! I paired it with a michelada that was just as tasty!! Very flavorful with a hint of spice just how I like it! Service was nice and fast, restrooms were clean, pretty cool place! This is a brand new spot right off the downtown square in McKinney. I had been hearing about it for months and was super excited when they finally opened. We were on our way to another restaurant when we saw they were open. Immediately circled back around. Parking in this area is pretty non-existent. There were parking spots in front of the place, but now they're fire lanes for the time being. We were told that there's a parking garage being built right there, but that will take some time to open. Anyway, we walked in and were the only ones there (don't worry, business picked up as we were there). We sat at the bar. The staff were all super friendly. We ordered a few of their specialty drinks and then stuck to the cheaper well vodka and soda ($3.50 is a definite deal, especially on the Square). As for food, I got the buffalo chicken flatbread. When it first came out, I was kind of concerned because it had tomato sauce on it. It had buffalo sauce as well, but the tomato sauce was throwing me off as that's not your typical buffalo chicken flatbread flavor combo. Still, I decided to try it out because I am a tomato sauce fan. Pretty crazy, but the combination worked! It was delicious. Wasn't really a flatbread, more like a pizza, but still great. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The whole thing was just awesome. The owner was there as well, and he was friendly. He even gave us a piece of the coconut cheesecake on the house since they had just opened. It was so good. I'm not a huge dessert person, but I'm a sucker for cheesecake. This one was brilliant. He told us they make all their desserts in house, minus the key lime pie. All of their food is fresh, and they use fresh margarita mix as well as fresh fruit in their specialty cocktails. He was so nice, and I want this place to succeed. If you're in McKinney, I promise this is the spot for you. Go check them out. read more

I have been to Foxiis several times, my co workers and I would meet to unwind from our busy work day. To my surprise as mentioned before (another review) the jukebox at one time had a variety of music rock, country, pop and SPANISH. This establishment is owned by lations why the change? I over heard the manger/owners wife Perla mention that they are trying to cater to a different crowd. The last time I went to Foxiis I ask her why the jukebox was off...she said they like to control what's playing. So, my question is what type of crowd are you Perla trying to cater too? I really hope someone @ Foxiis reads this review and answers my question. My money is just as green as anyone else's. *Please clean the windows and doors, grease prints since you guys opened. Unassuming bar and grill that delivers way above. We were brought in by a queso review and the food and service did not disappoint. Chips and queso were especially good. Drinks were just the right balance, not weak and Very Drinkable. Thank you Mr. Bartender! We had the chicken and waffles and the chicken strips with gravy on the side were excellent! Hot and not overly breaded. The icing on the meal was the sweet potatoes waffle fries... sweet, crispy and just plain Awesome! We enjoyed our delicious meal while watching sports on multiple TVs with the music playing in the background. Excellent service! Overall great choice and definitely not your average bar food. We started with the stuffed jalapeños- huge and super spicy. They were a little difficult to eat due to the size . My husband ordered the burger and I got the wing basket, flavored with medium and lemon pepper mixed together. The burger was solid, especially the patty. Saw the hostess stand by the other entrance and went to it. Seat yourself, the sign read. Went on Sunday for dinner. Only 2 other ppl in the restaurant, in the dining area. The bar area was empty, so we sat at the bar (as those were the only stools with backs). I tried 5 different stools at the bar and they were all unbalanced. The seats were either tipped way too forward or to the side. Completely uncomfortable. Ordered long island. It was so sour. The bartender did ask me if it was okay (noticing I only had a few sips) and I told her it was sour. She said they changed their mix. She went in the back and came out and asked to remake my drink. The second one was better...no clue how, I didnt ask. Ordered Rueben sandwich ($11.95) which comes with chips (Lay's I suspect). The sandwich had a whisper of Russian dressing. I love sauces and dressings, so the small amount was disappointing. The sandwich was good but didnt warrant the price tag. My husband had the southern cajun wings, said the flavor was lacking and the chicken was dry. The fries are large cut and seasoned.
