Food - 2 stars Experience - 4 stars Visited the yard with a party of 6 on a Wednesday night. 1 hour + wait time. Fortunately they have a great outdoor experience. Kids played bean bag toss and ping pong while we waited. The whole outdoor experience is amazing, I must say. Good service good and reasonably quick given how busy the restaurant was at the time. However, the food was not great. I'm giving it to stars for the food and four stars for the experience. I will also plan to go back and give the place another try. Shrimp Tacos - would have been great but there was some flavor in the sauce that I did not like. Unfortunately this same sauce was the base of the elote corn side dish. I love elote but did not eat more than a few bites. Kids chicken tenders - You would expect kids tenders to be relatively plain but at The Yard they have some flavoring in the breading that gives it a weird taste. The kids did not like it nor did any of the adults who tasted it. Grilled Cheese - Pretty simple sandwich but it was the best taste of anything ordered. Burgers - Instead of a larger quarter pound patty, the burger was made up to smaller 1/8 pound patties. If I'm going to pay this much for a burger at least give me a real hamburger patty rather than to dry it out small patties. read more

The food is decent but the drinks are much better. The service leaves a lot to be desired and is not my favorite part of the restaurant. The ambiance is pretty decent if you like loud talking and a lot of kids yelling. Kind of over priced. read more

We luckily sat indoors, but I do not recommend coming when rain is on the horizon. FOOD/SERVICE: I had the Shrimp Po' Boy which was essentially a fried shrimp sandwich with lettuce, tomato served dry on a very large bun. Friends had a shrimp salad & fish tacos, both meh. Overall, seafood is not their strong suit. Server didn't really check on us so we had to ask someone else for help when realized something was wrong (bar issue). MANAGEMENT: On the way out a lady slid/fell down the stairs & a manager stood above her (3+ stairs) & asked if she needed medical attention - while seeming beyond uninterested. Then the manager just watched as other patrons (in pouring rain, wearing sandals) picked up her belongings, bandaged her & help stand her up. The Stand alone bar gave me, and my friend terrible customer service. The female wearing a pink scarf was exceptional at no customer service. I felt like it was the 60's. It was only 4 people at the bar including the +1 in my party. The male who had a black mask heavy set, and her was extremely poor in customer service. I had to be rude to get anyone to take our order because they were talking to people who just took a seat, and we been there waiting awhile. I demand better for a $68 bill. I give this place a 2nd star based solely on the concept and location. The waitstaff and hostesses are pretty much completely inept. Twice we have been here and specified that we wanted to sit outside and both times they seated us inside and told us that we asked for first available instead of outside. One decent feature about this place is that it's kid friendly. On St. Patrick's Day we visited and they had a great construction zone complete with sharp scraps of splintered wood, rusty metal pipe, deck screws and roofing nails. The kids were having a great time playing on a loose pile of plywood. You would think that they would clean that up before a busy day like St. Patty's. Great food and service is great. We've been there a few times both day and evening and it's been good each time.

This is a great place to spend a lazy Saturday of Sunday afternoon. Lots of outdoor seating, games, and kids play area. They have a limited, but good menu. A friend of ours played in the ping pong tournament they had for their end of summer "party". Other than the flies that were all over our table, it was great. They make a good Bloody Mary! We ordered the veggie & spreads which was good - the ranch dip and black bean hummus are good. The wedge salad was your typical wedge salad. The Church Street Club was good. It comes with a side, and of course, I had to get the elote which was also good. A couple of friends ordered the Sissy's Chicken Sandwich and enjoyed it. We arrived 8/15 around 5:30 pm. The restaurant didn't seem too busy. We were a party of 12 so I can understand it being difficult to accommodate such a large party. The food was delicious however the staffs attitude was just rude. When we asked questioned she rolled her eyes. When given the receipt she WAVED IT IN MY FACE. I cannot believe we we're treated with such disrespect. We were being, as far as I know, as respectful as we could have been. Had we been rowdy I would understand the attitude. Really cool restaurant. Wanted a light dinner and ordered the half order of patio nachos, which were fantastic. The tinga chicken was well prepared, and the jalapeños were spicy (like they're supposed to be). I enjoyed the salsa as well, great flavor. There was a non-alcoholic beer option, which is perfect for me, but there is also a good-looking cocktail menu and beer selection. Misters out on the patio keep it bearable when inside is full. The bartender who helped me was laid back but attentive. Filling my water and asking how the food was. Cant remember his name, long brown hair, monday night shift at the outside patio bar. Great spot if you're looking for a patio and a place to bring your four legged friend with you. There's plenty of seating outside and there's also patio heaters so you can still enjoy being outside in the cooler weather. There's a pretty vast menu for you to order from if you're hungry and a variety of cocktails, beers, and wine for you to choose from. I've seen many kids here too so it's a family friendly spot but also a great spot to come with a group of friends. Definitely a chill spot that I enjoy coming to! read more

We came in last night to celebrate my daughter's birthday and unfortunately left unimpressed. We ordered 6 meals; 1 was inedible, 4 were subpar at best considering price and 1 according to my husband was delicious. I will say my skinny margarita was fresh and tasty. The service was mediocre at best. Once our food was dropped off our server never came back to check to check how we liked the food. We left feeling like we ate food that compared to a fast food joint only with a much heftier price tag. I've been 3 times now and always look forward to coming back. Anywhere that lets you bring a dog is a-ok in my book. Shrimp appetizer is awesome. Queso is pretty good. Honeysuckle drink is good if you like grapefruit (I do). The frozen bourbon drink is great. Old fashioned was average/good, but overpriced for what you get. Watermelon cocktail was disappointing. Not bad, but just kinda meh. The mahi board is incredible. Fish portion was smaller the second time I got it than the first, but it tasted even better than I remembered. I was sad when I was finished lol and I rarely finish a meal in one sitting. Elote is awesome. My brother says the regular fries are better than the waffle, but both are good, so I'll take his word on that. He also loves the burger and says it's one of his favorites of all time, but that the Stix one might win slightly. Before Stix opened up though, he was all about it. Do wish they had a little more variety and more vegetarian and/or vegan options, but what they do, they do well. Was also very disappointed they no longer served the hot drinks in early-ish February when it was freezing outside (aka the best possible time for them!) and they are still listed on the online menu. I was looking forward all week to trying out the hot chocolate! Maybe next year. The fire pits also weren't on even though it was really cold out, but the heaters definitely help. The e-mail sign up is also broken according to a few friends who tried to sign up. Wish they still had cornhole and other games, but the atmosphere itself is really cute.
