Nothing special. Quiet. Slow service. Terrible nachos. The place is more for the drinks then the food.

Looks decent, but similarly I've been yelled at multiple times by other people. It's not a pleasant environment.

Met the owner and super nice guy…read more Pies are unique and were great! Loved the mushroom one and their chicken pot pie is one of the best. Different take on a meal and serving only pies... but hey, it works.

In a sea of Indian joints, I think Pie Guyz deserve some props for doing something a bit different…read morefrom everyone else! It's a small little shop, can't remember if there's even any seating, but as soon as you walk in, you will see pies staring back at you. Everything is labelled, so there's no guessing games. On the left, there are Indian-influenced pies, i.e. Chicken Vindaloo (spiciest), Butter Chicken, Lamb Curry. And on the right, more British standards, i.e. Steak & Kidney, Potato/Cheese/Onion. You know, the boring stuff...just kidding! There are also veggie/kebab roll options as well. Unfortunately, for those of you who are coming in to satisfy that sweet tooth, you won't find it here. :( Prices vary, but they range from $4-5 for a 5"-ish sized pie. Great price point for a snack/pre-meal/craving satisfier! I got the Butter Chicken, which is supposed to be a top seller, and it did not disappoint. You can tell that the ingredients are fresh, flaky, not frozen. Nicely seasoned and not too heavily salted. Tip: Consume shortly after purchasing. I ate mine the day-after and I suspect that it was better yesterday 'cause I had to reheat in the micro! Btw, I wished that Yelp would change the category. No idea where "South African" is from 'cause the dude that I spoke to mentioned nothing about a SA influence!!!

I didn't go in myself, I dropped ma off for what she thought was karaoke on a Friday night. Turns…read moreout, it was jammy-oke, which, for those unfamiliar, is like karaoke but with a live band. Cool concept if you're into that, but it's definitely a different vibe than choosing a track from a catalog and singing along. From what I gathered, the band was friendly and offered an alternative when they didn't know the song my mom wanted to sing, but she opted out and left shortly after. No big deal. The place looked decent from the outside, kind of like the kind of pub you'd slip into for a pint and some low-key tunes. Later, I mentioned the experience during a karaoke chat somewhere else, and people who had been to Queen Victoria Pub spoke well of the jammy-oke setup. So, while it wasn't the right fit for my mom that night, others seem to enjoy it. Probably worth checking out if you're open to a more live-jam kind of karaoke scene.

So on a Friday night I suddenly fancied some Fish & Chips. But I am rather fussy about my fish. I…read moredo prefer halibut over haddock or cod. But as many know halibut is a premium fish. But I found this pub had halibut on the menu so I ordered two dinners plus a side (1 lbs) of wings. The food arrived hot and the fish was very good. The portion size was decent and the fries were still edible. I often find when ordered for home delivery fries seldom make the trip. I kind of wished more restaurants/ pubs vented their boxes so the fries did not get too soggy. I did find my order came with a generous portion of tartar sauce but they served white vinegar not malt. A bit of a faux pas here. I did find the wings a bit under done. I guess I prefer a bit of a crisp so I popped those in my air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 ° F. After that they made a tasty side.
