Wow just wow! Janet was absolutely lovely to work with-she is a meticulous artist who gave me a gorgeous two color ombré gel manicure today. I'll be back as often as I can. Super clean space, everything is sanitized and or single use, pretty nail colors, and she helped me pick tones that would work with my skin tone in the color family I wanted. She is gentle with the instruments and I was so comfortable in her hands. I asked her to keep my nails healthy and she was a total pro-did the gel soak off in a responsible way without using a drill. Can't wait to go back!

I don't know why it took me so long to write a review! Janet is the absolute best. You can give her your nail inspo and she will make it happen. Not only that, she will make it last! I can go for a month without seeing her and my nails will still look good (even with the visible nail growth). She's also very nice and easy to talk to. I've been searching awhile for a place to get my nails done and I am sooo glad I went to her!

Loved my nails so much! Came here after seeing how long my sister's gel polish held up (1+ months!). I loved all the nail designs I saw on her yelp and Instagram pages. Janet is super friendly and can easily chat with you about anything, making the time fly by. She is also very detailed and will give you her opinion on color/design choices. She is located inside the salon, tucked away in a corner that is adorable decorated in all things pink! Best way to set up an appointment is via text message, she is super good about replying back in timely manner. Definitely will be back for more, I already saved some nail designs I want to try in the future!

I had such a great experience. The location is cute and clean. The prices are extremely affordable for the designs she creates. Janet has great taste when giving recommendations about what designs would look good based on a style I wanted. She's also extremely nice and friendly. She even offered me ice coffee. This was the BEST gel manicure experience EVER!! Janet was very pleasant and welcoming. Her work is very detailed, thorough and artistic. She only works on natural nails, no acrylics. She has samples of gel manicure colors and designs posted on her wall for an easier way to choose. She asked what shape I wanted, colors I like and any designs in mind. I chose a neutral color with a simple design and told her to shape my nails where she thought would be good since my nails were already short. I'll let my photo speak for itself. I am a very satisfied client and will return!!! This is located inside The Cutaway hair salon in PCH in Torrance. She has her own private room.

Another super late update! The attached photos are my wedding nails when I got them(0 week), then at 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, and 5 weeks after I got them! I love this spot! I also love Janet! It's in the Cutaway Salon on PCH. I moved to California about 10 months ago, and had a nail technician that I'd absolutely loved. I was hesitant to try and find someone to tackle my nails. Janet is so engaging, which is something I loved in a technician. She also wants you to be happy with your final product on your nails. She asks questions if things hurt, are too hot, etc. Her work is fantastic and worth every penny you pay. I absolutely recommend Janet! She's fabulous, and more importantly she knows what she's doing!

Janet did my favorite set of nails ever here! I love the pink glitter ombre nails she did for me and she added a jewel too :) The jewel and the nails lasted for such a long time. I highly recommend visiting when you have a chance. She's really nice and her room is nice and personal. I like looking at the samples of nail art work she has on her wall.

I found this little gem online when I got a bad gel manicure from another spot and she was able to fit me in the next day. Janet's work is amazing as she takes her time to talk to you and bounce ideas around so you are happy. The work space is cozy, super clean and sterile. Her nail studio is within the hair salon. Very personal 1 on 1 appt. Janet started by greeting me and offering a beverage, wrapped my nails to remove the gel using steam (never had that before but felt great). She recommended I change the shape of my nails and I loved it. She even tried my top 3 nail colors before I made the decision, for working independently she has a large selection of colors that most other shops don't (even presto my favorite). My nails came out amazing. She even included 2 free designs. She took her time and is a true perfectionist! Thanks Janet! This was my first of many appointments. read more

I absolutely loved this place! Janet was super sweet and easy to talk to and incredibly patient with all the questions I had. She helped a lot with picking out colors and combinations. I went in thinking I was going to get all one color but came out with some sparkly ones that turned out better than i imagined! I love how she took time with my nails and nothing felt rushed. First time here and I love it! Super easy to make an appointment and Janet is so nice and attentive. She is very detailed and precise which is exactly what I look for. It's a small and cozy area inside the Cutaway salon and I like the 1 on 1 because you don't feel rushed like other nail salons. I've been going to Janet consecutively for about 6 months now, and my nails have never been healthier, nor have they been cuter! She works in a really cute room inside of the Cutaway salon, perfect for her 1 on 1 sessions. Her nail salon is really adorable, decorated with pink and you can see all of the colours and cute designs she's done in the past. Her prices are crazy affordable for the quality of work she does - and she's never been inconsistent with the amount of skill she puts into nail art, so all of you people out there who want an amazing nail salon experience, you HAVE to see Janet! She's super skilled and I honestly don't think I'd go to anyone else. I've been to many, many high end salons in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas, and she blows them out of the water. I've been going to Janet for 4 months now and she has been making my nails absolutely **flawless** and healthy. Her gel manicures stay perfect for at least a month and your nails will growth long and strong. Have had the cutest short manicures as well, Janet managed to get the most adorable designs on my super-trimmed nails. Be prepared to receive many compliments on your nails once you start seeing Janet! read more

TBH, I don't really want to write this because I'm risking all you b-words taking up all the appointment slots...but man, Janet is a blessing to human kind. I drive from the SFV (more than an hour drive!) just to get my nails done by her because she is by far THE most meticulous nail artist ever. She specializes in natural nails, doesn't over-file your nails (not sure why most nail techs do this - do you want my nails to look like a naked mole rat?), and offers a one-on-one experience like no other. She has preset nail designs for you to choose from or you can bring her inspiration pics you find on IG and she'll make it happen. The manicure lasts FOREVER and the stones don't fall off because she uses the best materials. Her super cute station is located inside of the Cutaway Hair Salon. There's also a free parking lot with lots of free spaces. If you're like me and actually work hard for your money and don't have a money tree in your backyard, I think it's worth mentioning that Janet is also HILARIOUS and offers great advice, so you're really paying for therapy + friendship + beautiful nails. You're welcome ladies. You'll never have basic nails again after this and I hope you're not socially awkward because everywhere you go, people will be complimenting your nails like they do to me. I hope I meet my future husband this way...if that happens, I'll name my first born "Janet". read more

Janet was WONDERFUL to work with. She was able to squeeze me in for a last minute appointment. I don't live in the South Bay anymore and don't have a go-to nail person in the area, so I reached out to Janet totally based on her reviews. Janet was meticulous and so friendly. My time with her flew by as we chatted the entire time! She took great care to make my nails perfect. We finished in under the time she had set aside, and she was kind enough to do me a solid and paint my toes for me since I didn't have time to go elsewhere for a pedicure. Fun nails, good conversation, and extremely relaxed atmosphere. Janet is super easy to make an appointment with and there's plenty of parking in the lot area. I was soo excited to try this salon because of the amazing Yelp reviews but unfortunately am disappointed. Don't get me wrong, Janet is fantastic: she is meticulous and her tools are always clean, but she promises designs that last. My designs, which were cute little sequins that you have to stick on, fell off after not even three days! Also, this simple addition took my fee up from $35 to $50. I expect better when I pay an arm and a leg for my nails. She also painted rather far from the cuticle, so my nails looked grown out in just a week. However, if you are into elaborate nail art, I think Janet is very talented and will satisfy your requests. I personally will not return, though. read more

Janet is an awesome person to spend time with while she does your nails :) she is genuine and interested in getting to know you. Her spot is very intimate and warm. Fresh white walls and pink accents everywhere!!! Janet also makes sure you are set with coffee or tea before beginning her work. But probably not the best place to bring your gal pal and have a nail party, not enough space. I first met Janet before my Vegas trip and I wanted my nails to sparkle with all gold. Janet takes the time to figure out what you'd like and does a great job executing it. She is also very accommodating and a great person to chat with. That was around the time when the nail tech walked over to me for the first time to ask if I had chosen a color, not when my feet were in the water or when I was receiving the service, as I stated. She also walked away after the initial contact and returned a couple times, throwing supplies on her cart before proceeding. Regardless of that, my Zelle payment for tip was also confirmed at 6:54pm. So I do want to acknowledge that my time there was about an hour and a half total from my arrival/ appointment time. If I had known that later appointments were known to be thrown off schedule, I would've just showed up late so I didn't have to wait. There was no update or follow up. While I understand it is the business owners responsibility to ensure all reviews are accurate, the repeated attempt to disprove what I stated was unnecessary when the issue still stands: my appointment time was not honored, i had literal pieces of scrub and gel on my leg, and someone used a cuticle cutter to PULL pieces of my toenail off without asking me. I understand these services are a luxury; I would not come in expecting to be waited on but I do expect basic communication and respect. The service and response were both disappointing.

She also did my Barbie-in-Vegas-themed bachelorette nails, which were absolutely stunning. I felt like a bad b**** every time I walked out of her studio. What truly sets Miyako apart is her meticulous attention to detail. The shape, smoothness, and evenness of the nails are always flawless. Even with just a plain color, my nails would look like they were perfect press on designs. You can tell she's a true creative who deeply cares about her craft. The Verdict: At $130 for a Gel-X set, the baseline expectation is that your cuticles will look presentable and you'll receive basic courtesy. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!
