The best of the best! This small 6 table (+bar) masterpiece is a hidden gem in Telluride. It's shocking how 3 people can run the front of the house so well, but these employees are geniuses at the bar and masters during all aspects of service. Plus, the music is fun...singing along to every word! Now let's talk food. I mean....WHOA! First of all, the drinks are delicious. I highly recommend the Saketini is you love Sake and martinis. I'm making this one at home! Each table gets a bag of popcorn. It tastes like it has bacon butter on it but the servers corrected us with how they actually made it. I unfortunately can't remember but it is delicious! We started off with the shishaki peppers. I couldn't stop eating them. We ordered a lot from Act I on the menu so we skipped Act II. From Act I, we we able to order two bun options on lettuce, since I'm GF. We also ordered the prawns and the wagyu. Both perfectly cooked! We finished the meal with sharing the lamb lollipops. Again perfectly cooked and in the end the entire meal was a perfect size for dinner. Wow... Such mixed emotions.. on one hand I have so many great things to say about this place but sometimes just one thing/person can ruin the whole experience. If you like Rap music with the "N" word, this is your place. If you like a bartender pushing you to order and leave because they have more reservations behind you and you've only been here fifteen minutes, If you like seeing the staff take a "Shift Shot" every few minutes while you wait on your drinks, then this is your place. However, if you want excellent drinks made with a fresh and creative twist, and you find that Ritchie, the Chef is a genuine guy wanting each and every guest to have a genuinely delightful experience, then this is also your kind of place. So, I have mixed emotions and hence my mixed review. I'd return here for sure but I'd hope that T***** was not on duty. I've heard that "A company is as weak as it's worst employee" and in this case that is a fact. I was so sad when the Denver location closed, but glad that the original Telluride location was still open! There's not a lot of seating available during COVID so make sure to make reservations ahead of time. POPCORN - Free appetizer! WAGYU TARTAR - delicious! I'd give the eclectic, creative menu twenty stars if I could, but the bartender was so rude that it ruined our experience. We had a couple of creative, whimsical cocktails but the bartender and almost every staff we encountered were so unfriendly, it wasn't worth the whimsy. Our local friends warned us, they told us that they've left because of the attitudes, half way through their meals... but I was curious. I made a reservation for dinner, but we stayed for one cocktail. That should tell you something. To the bar staff: Get over yourselves, be nice to your guests. You're making food and cocktails not solving the national health care crisis... Way overpriced with small shareable bites that are a bit hilarious as to how small they are and how expensive for miniscule portions. Had a salad as a main course and it was a very small portion of romaine lettuce with a teaspoon full of yogurt type sauce. Nothing else. No nuts, no veggies etc. Try at least guys. Came here for a cocktail before a dinner reservation elsewhere and ended up loving it so much we stayed for two cocktails and an app. We sat at the bar and had a great experience -- the complimentary popcorn right when you sit down is a great touch. I got two jam drinks: one with red pepper jam and rum and one with blueberry jam and vodka. Both were great and in a world where it's hard to be inventive with cocktails, they were like nothing I'd ever had before. Highly recommend. We had the cauliflower as an appetizer and were very impressed. Again, in a world where cauliflower seems so overdone, this was unique and the furthest thing from bland. If I'm ever in telluride again, I will definitely come back and stay for dinner. read more

Quaint spot by our Airbnb and seems like this place was popping so we dropped in! A tad bit away from the main strip of Telluride, the ambiance was not as overly crowded and more intimate. As for the menu it's tapas style. Our group shared some Brussel Sprouts and Shishito Peppers; not much to speak about in my mind. For my main bites I ordered the Smoked Trout Rillet and the Wagyu Steak Skewers. The trout was not as fishy as I thought; atop a crispy chip was a nice added texture. The cream and caviar help provide a smooth and minor salty sting to the palates. The Wagyu was the highlight for me. It was tender and broiled to perfection with just a tad bit of bleed. In the end, There was a nice away from the crowd stop for our group. Their beverage menu was delightful and the service was on spot! - Enjoy! read more

There, there, there. I really wanted to give a 5 here...the food is truly unique and perfectly plated, presented, designed. The space small and quaint. It is a tad pricey...but we are in Telluride. Sadly I think the service/ employees are influenced by previous insensitive and perhaps ignorant posts of yelpers. When we arrived at 4:15 the bartender immediately greeted us with "do you have a reservation?". We were there for happy hour...in a downpour..at the time there were 2 empty seats at the bar...and I had read online that reservations could not be made for happy hour. Her 2 friends pass by us...she greets them happily with "there are 2 seats at the back." I say...we do not...we are here for happy hour. To which she replies, "we have no more seats." I respond, "yes...I see they were just taken." She says, "they have a reservation...but I can let you sit at a table for maybe an hour." I had read reviews...I knew this poor reception might happen. We are seated...and I locate where it shows this establishment does not take reservations for happy hour. We order with our waitress who is equally curt and informs us we can only sit for maybe an hour. She returns with our drink and I try to show her where I read no reservations. She actually says, "you are being too technical." I check in on yelp...and...wonder do they know I check in? Because now our waitress is sugar and spice. I have waitressed, hostessed, cooked in a kitchen...have children who have worked and work similarly (my daughter bartends in the summers). I have an idea what it is to do this work; I have no idea what it is to work under the current conditions where restaurants are consistently so short handed. So...I am giving the place a 4. Truly it is only a 4 for me. Nothing I would return to. The reception and treatment (we watched as other couples were treated similarly) would earn this establisent a 1...but it is a time for all of us to be understanding and kind. I only hope the owner can build up their employees in spirit and work toward a better plan for this establishment. read more

I ordered a tequila with raspberry jam. HOLY DELICIOUSNESS!!!!! We started off with the brussels sprouts. Got them extra crunchy + they were probably my favorite thing we ordered. Next, we ordered the spicy duck buns. The guys really enjoyed them but to me they weren't anything special. Papas bravas was the next item we ordered with a fried egg on top. We've been here twice in a row on our last two visits to town and both times have left extremely impressed with the food and even more irked by the service. So much so that we will not come back on our next trip. Last time 3 of us were waiting outside past our reservation time. The bar tender then let in a group of 6 people who didn't have reservations right ahead of us, they were seemingly his buddies, as he told them they need to make reservations next time... During both visits we were rushed out by giving us a time limit on our table and telling us another reservation was coming so we had to hurry up... They made us feel like we were overstaying our welcome as we ordered plate after plate and drink after drink. I understand it's a small place, but they need to come up with a better solution, this is rude and unprofessional. The food and drinks are great and this is the exact type of place you want to sit at, chill, order small plate after small plate, drink after drink; and just relax and talk with your friends. But, unfortunately you cannot do that here. It's a real shame, and in writing this I truly hope they change their service model because I would gladly spend $500 in a night here if they ever actually just let me... read more

Always consistently above the fold. Excellent recipes. The best Brussels sprouts you have every tasted a must try. Spicy duck buns are one of their staples and the burger is also always a winner. We visited Telluride during the off seasons. Found out 'There' was one of a few restaurants that was open. (Thank goddess). We've ordered each peach and coconuts flavored cocktails, it tasted so good. The bartender legit put extra love in our drinks, I got pretty buzzed after a drink, haha! It's a tiny oasis of beautifully crafted cocktails and small bites to try and share. The happy hour is a must. Half off small lettuce bites and steamed buns! Delicious but will not fill you up so order more than two. There are also larger plates as well that are not on HH. The cocktails are dreamy and dangerous. My favorite was the Diablo. The bartender had the right amount of warmth and sass that will keep you engaged and educated while sitting at the bar. We loved hanging at the bar and chatting with locals and visitors. The small town bar/restaurant with a funky modern twist has that affect on you and conversation flows. It's easy to go so engaged that you will forget Happy Hour actually ends at 6 so beware! The ambiance here is great. The small dining area and warm furnishings create a cozy feeling especially when it's cold. The cocktails are amazing and I loved trying new combinations with new types of alcohol like pear Brandy. I was a huge fan of the Hotty Toddy and the Winter's Storm The servers are great and attentive and take their time to go over all the information on the menu. Everything was great until we got to the entree, which is why one star was removed. We ordered a pastry with chickpeas, jerk curry, cooked golden raisins, and onions. I am personally a huge fan of jerk curry so that part was excellent and there were a ton of onions (again not a huge problem for me), but the pastry itself must have been cooked on a very high temperature because the outside was cooked and flaky but the inside was literally raw with slimy pastry batter running out of the puff pastry. It would have been an amazing meal had it not been undercooked at the end! read more
