We had a great waitress named Mariah. She answered all of our questions and was super patient as we reviewed the menu. We finally decided on the fish tacos, and I added avocado. My daughter got the chicken tenders and a pretzel, and my husband got a breakfast plate. For an appetizer, we got cheese curds. Can I tell you these are the best cheese curds I have ever had? They have a light breading, and they were seasoned perfectly. They come with a sweet chili jam that took it to the next level. My husband and I both indulged in adult beverages. He had the Texas beer flight. It was a bit of an experiment for him, and it turned out he only liked 2 out of the 6 beers, but that is because he is not a fan of dark beer. Keep that in mind if you order it without customizing it. I had the whiskey flight and I enjoyed it it thoroughly. My favorite was the Irish whiskey.They also have a tequila flight and mimosas (not in a flight). I feel bad giving it 3 stars. 1 person can ruin your experience. It was a long day of traveling with delayed flights, etc I check into my hotel pretty late and look up food options. I do not want fast food and not much is opened. I found them on Yelp and drove over. The area is cute with a lot of parking. I walk in by myself and the hostesses were sitting around. That's fine, it's late and they got up when I came in. I asked if the bar was open seating. She said yes so I found a seat and sat down. Since it's just me and I want to get food. The bartender... I never got her name because she never came and helped me or greeted me or really even gave me eye contact. She had short hair. She is helping people though... I finally ask the hostess "can I order here?" she replies with yes. But, doesn't do anything to try to get me help. So, I said "I'll take a table." Brittany A was my server and she was great. She gave me suggestions. She was personable. She was friendly. Opposite of the terrible bartender. Food: Scotch egg - I've never had it so I wasn't sure what to expect. The meat around the egg seemed dry. I liked the mustard and the cook on the egg. I only ate one piece. "Spicy" fried cauliflower - why is spicy in quotes? Because it's not spicy. It might be spicy for my white husband lol but, he wasn't on the trip with me. It was good though. The sweetness of the sauce, the cook on the cauliflower, and the sriracha on the side. I actually finished this dish. I ordered the Tuscan chicken to go. It was actually good. The sauce was good. I love all the sauces. It's a no for me on the carrots but, that's a personal taste. Wow. First the servers are all so friendly! All were smiley & said hello, overall good interactions. I went alone to read and eat, my server noticed and was still very attentive, but not overly attentive to bother my reading! I went around 4pm on Easter Sunday so it wasn't quite busy, but I can tell this place is the type to get busy in good weather & non holidays! Now the food, better than the service. I would like to say I'm a calamari connoisseur, get it everywhere that has it. This calamari is amazing. I thing having calamari with spice IN the breading is the best, and this hit that spot perfectly. Spice was there, sauces were both there. One thing I could do without was the lettuce that was under it, the left over grease just kind of hung to it. Next up! Cesar salad, can't go wrong here. If you're like me and like each piece of lettuce to have dressing, this is the place & salad for you. Last but not least, the spicy chicken sliders. I'm not one to like coleslaw, but this paired with the spice in the chicken was amazing. They're perfectly sized and full of flavor! Food- actually pretty good just over priced. Plus, they need better portion control. I ordered duplicate of the person sitting across from me and portions were drastically different. I did not get my money's worth in comparison. Service- the wait staff always seem really rushed, but friendly. I don't like the hand held computers to pay. It makes you feel like you have to tip extra since they are watching you. Ambiance- pretty nice. Loud music with video screen if that's your thing. Restrooms are clean. That's important. Thirsty Lion has always been a favorite every time I was near the Toyota Music Factory Pavilion in Las Colinas, so when I discovered they opened up a new location in Dallas, I was excited! We decided to host our Toastmasters Club Holiday Party here and so happy we did. The Manager Joseph was very personable and made sure we had a good experience. Rebecca, Lauren and Megan also did a fantastic job setting up the buffet area and delivered top notch service which made us feel like VIP! I'm just surprised this location is not open later as they seem to get a lot of business being a newer restaurant in town. Also loud music does make it hard to hear table conversation so I wouldn't come here for a quiet evening date. I still haven't had anything that I don't like from here. I ordered the espresso martini which was perfect and received a lot of great feedback from our fellow guests that their food and drinks tasted delicious as well. Popular gastropub in a great location! Went for happy hour Sunday night. There is plenty of seating and an energetic ambiance. Ordered some calamari and tuna tower off the happy hour menu - the food was just okay. The rice in the tuna tower was cold, hard and super undercooked. We pointed it out to our server who kindly took it back and the chef gave us a new one and took the dish off our bill! They were offering happy hour all night since it was during a Rangers playoff game, which was pretty sweet. TL;DR: good service and atmosphere, but the food fell short for me. Came by for a weekday dinner with some coworkers and got a table without reservations without any issue. Ambience: there happened to be a speed dating event that night, so it was lively and made for fun people-watching. It was on the louder side, but you could still have a conversation. Service: our server Vanessa was great - she was friendly, helpful, and attentive, despite the busy night. Food: I got the spicy fried chicken sandwich, which was pretty underwhelming - the flavors overall weren't bad (although I wouldn't call it spicy), but there was barely any chicken vs breading, and the meat itself was dry. Let me say off the top that I am NOT writing this review about the food. I've been to Thirsty Lion to eat and the food is fine. My issue is the fact that this is a sports bar, in Dallas, but when we went yesterday to eat, drink and catch the UT game, it wasn't on?! Whaaat? I asked the hostess and she said they don't have ESPN+ so there was no way to put it on. I'm sorry, but you're in Dallas, the Longhorns are the #1 ranked team nationally, and you aren't willing to pay for the right service to air the game? That's short sighted. We ended up leaving and going someplace else to watch, but my guess is our check easily would've covered the cost of ESPN+ for the month, and then some. Hope this changes so we can come watch another time read more

Service: I would say service was mediocre. I came in Friday, 11/24 at around 4:30pm. The hostess just stared at me as I walked in and did not greet me. From then to being seated just made me feel awkward as if I was being a burden. The service from the waitress was about average, there was nothing to complain about but nothing to write home about either. Food: I ordered the Hibiscus Basil Lemonade for my drink which was amazing! I really like it. Very fresh tasting! The Beer Battered Cheese Curds was my appetizer. Really tasty, the cheese curds were not too oily and tasted great with the dipping sauces provided. On to the main event, I got the Tuscan Romano Chicken for my entree which is listed as their speciality. This is two herb breaded chicken filets with a lemon herb sauce along with macaroni and veggies. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was very tasty with the lemon herb sauce. The macaroni came with a parmesan based sauce and was delicious! All in all, the food was great on all fronts! Ambience: They have a bar area which has two big screens which give a bit of a sports bar feel. The rest of the restsurant has booths and v the quality/quantity of the food and being located in Dallas, I would say the prices were reasonable. My drink was $6, appetizer $13.50 and entree was $23.95. Approximately $50 with tax before tip. I would have given 5 stars but the awkward interaction with the host was unacceptable especially as that is my first interaction in the restaurant. I will come back though and hopefully I have a better experience with being seated. read more

Went here for dinner before a movie at AMC Northpark. We got there about 1.5 hour before our movie to give plenty of buffer time. The restaurant itself is very clean and inviting inside, like the slightly upscale chain that it is. The food was too average for the price - almost tasted like an Applebees or Chili's. A few of the beers we ordered were flat. Unfortunately, the service was VERY slow throughout the entire experience. After we were done eating, we sat there for about 20 minutes until we had to wave down another staff member to get our waitress. It then took another 5-10 minutes for her to come by to close out our check. Because of this, we had to rush over to the mall to make it in time for the movie. When we left, we said it was disappointing and that we'd likely never go back - there are just too many better options around! read more

I was dumb founded. I've had ONE DRINK. Now maybe the entire group all together had a lot but the three of us that stayed back definitely had not drank but 1-2 drinks. We think it was because the next late happy hour was about to start and they didn't want us to keep staying at the table to lose on other business. My mom lives maybe a mile away from this place and it's quickly become of our favorite choices for dinner, late snacks, and drinks. Lots of bar/drink options--everything is hand made and yummy. The food is quite delicious, too. We've had most of the appetizers and a handful of entrees--Brussels sprouts and beer cheese soup are a couple of our favorite things on the menu. Spinach artichoke dip is yummy as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is clean, comfortable and pleasant. The (sometimes retro) tunes playing are always fun, too. We sometimes sit there and try to guess the songs, occasionally resorting to Shazam. We've discovered a few new artists just from dining there! I don't remember what it cost but it was definitely not worth getting the happy hour special. I even asked the server about it and he said that's the happy hour portion. So weird!!! I wish I remembered to take a pic of it, it was almost comical. We got a couple of basic drinks / beers and they were fine. We also got the cauliflower special from the happy hour menu as well. Clean, Fresh Menu, and attentive Wait Staff. Food was good quality, presented well, and never felt rushed.

Food here is a bit on the bland side. The beer-battered cheese curds taste like mozzarella sticks. I'm surprised they don't use a sharper cheese like Brie or cheddar. The Gastropub burger is too tall and under-seasoned, but not bad after salting it generously and eating with a fork. The fries taste like the ones you get in the freezer aisle and heat in your oven- nothing special. My biggest complaint is the restaurant is pretty loud, and the hostess told me there's no seating areas that are more quiet, and she didn't offer to turn down the music either. My friends and I were almost shouting trying to hear each other. I lost some of my voice after being here two hours. To make matters worse, our waiter wasn't filling up our water often enough. We had to keep asking for refills. Having said that, I like the ambience otherwise, and the prices are reasonable. Superbowl Sunday... They didn't prepared for the number of people that would come out, they were low staffed. The food was good and fast to come out but it was hard to find our server and get drinks promptly. We had reserved a table in advanced but when we got there all the tables that were near the tv had the reserved sign but no one sitting in them. They didn't let us change tables and during the night we saw that those 'reserved' table didn't even get occupied. + The manager took a long time to turn the volume up, he was apparently waiting for the game to start so we couldn't even hear the National Anthem.
