I will never eat here again. Three Dollar's food is pretty good, has fairly large portions in correspondence with the price, and usually has decent service. I went this past Friday and ordered a brew and some wings--a pretty decent meal. However, the service on this Friday was absolutely horrific. They definitely had enough waiters and waitresses to cover each of the tables. Trust me, I've worked in the service industry before and it's not that difficult to check up on a table or refill a drink during a rush. So, I gave no tip. I never do this but our waitress was obviously giving other tables much of--if not all--her attention and couldn't even bother to bring me a water the entire hour we were there. The total was around $16 and some change. Checked my credit card about 30 minutes ago and it had a charge of $20 from three dollar cafe. Considering I am a struggling grad student, this is just unacceptable. This is a crime. An incredibly petty one at that. read more

Had lunch here today. Have been here a handful of times and sat at bar, food very good for the type of menu that it is. Second time in a row that I have had to grab a table and was already dreading it after only one other experience. Saw the server three times in 70 minutes. Tracked her down inside, sat on porch with heaters on with another table that someone else was serving, for checks as she had disappeared for about 30 minutes. Going out to eat is more than just the food, this consistent experience has ended my tenure at this location. Laziness is an unfortunate reason to lose a customer, and I hope the franchise owner sees this. The food is 5/5, it's purely the lazy wait staff that holds the overall experience back. Have been visiting several of his stores for decades. This one on Roswell Rd. seems to be a sole survivor. Last time I went the wings were tiny baby wings and not cooked to order. I asked for Hot and and they were dry and mild at best. The waitress was nowhere to be found and I had to go find her myself. Well the replacements were the same now dried up little baby wings re-tossed in sauce. I refused them and asked for the owner. After she brought the check and it was settled he comes to the table. I explained my issues and he said "next time you come back just let me know" It is doubtful that there will be a next time. read more

Not only did we get skipped after waiting but our table was given to a couple who came in 20 mins after us.. we also witnessed them being seated before us ... as a couple we were told they asked for a table and have kids.. which they did not ... that was a lie.. Extremely rude staff.. made me and my guest feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Especially after the long wait. Not enough tables during the weekends especially game days.. Customer service was extremely poor from the moment we walked up to the host stand . Very disappointed in this recommendation from a friend.. I will definitely spread the word to all my friends ,family, and co workers about our overall experience so that they won't have to experience anything like we just did. Won't be eating here or at any of the other locations anymore especially paying for such attitude instead of food to be served. What I like about this place is how dim the lighting is inside...the dark wood really brings an element to the place that gives you that private feel, for a sports bar, that is. Conversely, the patio is pretty nice with plenty of tables. The food is good...typical bar fare...and the staff is pretty on the ball. The buffalo wings are worthy of consideration as Atlanta's Best...not that I am eating them, but more than likely the person I am with is!! Nothing flashy, but a decent locale. Ok, cool place..ate outside, but I order a cup of salsa with our chips and cheese dip...keep in mind a CUP of salsa...of which didnt come with chips and they charged me 4.75!!!! I've been visiting this restaurant since they opened this location about 10 years ago. In the last year the quality of the food has dramatically declined and only surpassed by the poor service. The prices continue to spike and the portions of the entrees is in many cases half what they were just last year. The buffalo blue chicken sandwich used to be a nice sized butterfly breast. My last visit and today it was half as big. My side item was a tiny house salad. Sent the chicken back and was charged FULL PRICE for a six inch bowl of lettuce and one tomato slice. With iced tea (and no offered refills) I was given a $7 bill that was put on the table immediately after we started eating. Waitress never returned to offer bev refills or check if we needed anything. No apology, no service, no explanation. Only about 5 other tables in whole restaurant. And one table had about 5 servers and kitchen staff just sitting around talking. I doubt I will ever return and will be sure to tell as many people as I can to avoid this location at all costs. There are a dozen other establishments within eyesight. 3 Dollar has really blown it at this location. read more

She continued to throw her hands in the air with an attitude, yelling "we only have wings left! That's all I can get you." Extremely rude. I recently moved to Atlanta about 6 months ago. My wife and I have been looking for a decent pub. We found Three Dollar Cafe about 3 months ago and have been there about 6 times so far. We even brought a relative to the location to have them try it out as we have really enjoyed it. After the service we were given last night we will not be going back again. Last night we ordered the Cheese Steak and a side of cheese dipping sauce. When we ordered the cheese sauce she asked if we wanted the small or larger portion. We stated the smaller one that does not come with the chips. Enjoyed the meal as usual. When we got the bill we noticed that they charged us $5 for the cheese dipping sauce. It was a small size of cheese sauce. I thought for sure they must have entered it as appetizer. I asked the waitress about it and she started to be very defensive and stated that it was the price and there was a smaller portion that we could have ordered. From there she asked if we wanted to speak to a manager so we did. The manager was in a very similar perspective and kept saying, "Well I can do it for you this time.." in a tone which we found to be very rude. I can say we have enjoyed the food here and that is why we kept coming back, but after the treatment we received last night we are now looking for a new normal pub. read more

Went here the other evening for drinks with friends. I hadn't been to 3 dollar cafe since the one on Peachtree in Buckhead closed, so I didn't know what to expect from the "junior" location. I was incredibly unimpressed with the beer menu, selection and service. Of the 12 or 15 beers on draught there were only 2 that were appealing to me: Bass and Sweetwater 420. Everything else was Budweiser/MillerCoors. The bottle selection had a little bit better options, but nothing that I really wanted. I ended up ordering a Sweetwater GA Brown. When the waitress brought it out, she brought just the bottle, without a glass to pour it into but I guess that's alright for most of the beer they serve (BMC). The thing that really surprised me the most was the "Best if enjoyed by" date on the Bottle. The beer I was served was 4 months past its prime. I'm surprised that the waitress took so long to bring me a glass to pour my beer into, because it gave me plenty of time to find that "secret" out. I'm not real surprised that they didn't take care of their beer supply, after seeing boxes and boxes of beer stacked up in front of a window that no doubt gets a lot of sun, allowing it to skunk whenever it pleases. After my first trip to this establishment in years, I didn't see anything that makes me want to refer it to any friends or coworkers and I definitely don't plan on going back any time soon. read more

Well where do I start? When you walk in the place smells of musk. It's dark, dingy, and smells bad. I will say the service was pretty good, but the food was sub par at best. We ordered a Malibu and coke and it was watered down and flat. Where this place earns it's one star is for the fact that we had Three Dollar Cafe gift cards and could not use them for some insane reason. The Three Dollar cafe logo on the card was the exact same as the one plastered all over the building. When the waitress told us this I asked for a manager. She immediately got a little attitude and stomped off. Once the manager came over and clarified that they would not take the gift cards the server started yelling at me from across the restaurant saying I should not be yelling?! I wasn't even yelling! Ridiculous and she should be fired. Do not go to this place. Don't waste your time. It needs to be torn down and turned into something else-maybe a Chick-fil-a or a gas station (those are in short supply in this part of town). read more

We have been here many times, it is far superior to the ones in Gwinnett where we live. Always fresh good food, always friendly service we have usually gone before a concert at Chastain, but tonight we came in because the previous place we went for dinner was very bla. We had ten wings and the fried mushrooms, these are large mushrooms with great breading and they aren't overy greasy like some places that have those small mushrooms that are just pouring grease. The horseradish sauce is just right, not too tangy. The only thing to be forewarned about is the noise level, it is loud with all the tv's a few hyper kids here and there and the kitchen sounds because the kitchen it very open. None of that would keep us away, the parking lot is busted and needs to be repaved, but the food and service makes up for any of these items. Our bartender tonight is moving to San Diego in late Summer and we visted there last November so we had a really nice conversation. We wish her the best! read more

Ordered through a third party delivery service and waited an hour while they were waiting for the food to be prepared before the restaurant told them they were too busy. I'm sorry to have to report a bad experience at this Three Dollar Cafe because in general I've enjoyed going here. Unfortunately, my debit card information was stolen and because of some peculiar circumstances (it was a brand, spanking new card and this is the only time the card or its information has been let out into the world before the fraud), I'm reasonably certain that someone at this location took my information and used it online. Obviously, I have no direct evidence but I have a reasonable suspicion and would hate for anyone else to get hurt. Talked to the police and the manager - nothing specific to be done and the manager, while very gracious, didn't seem to think it was possible for that to have happened at his cafe. FYI. read more
