I frequent Three Dollar Cafe. This was my first and last experience at this one. We came on a Saturday Night 2 1/2 hours before an event in Atlanta. The service here was the problem and should be addressed. Train your staff adequately. We were seated in maybe 15 minutes. 15 Minutes later No one came over to our table. I had to ask who our server was. That should've been indicative of the situation to come. Alex took our order and didnt apologize for the wait at all. I also, didnt realize that this was a beer and wine establishment only. We waited almost 50 minutes for food. When we received our orders they got my fiancee's order wrong. After waiting 50 MINUTES they didnt offer any type of solution. They just said they would remake hers so we couldnt even eat together. My wings got cold waiting and my sisters Grouper sandwich also got cold because we wanted to eat together like anyone going out to eat would. Alex admitted her mistake saying she rung in Chicken tenders instead of Grouper fingers. I told Alex my concern. Here is the kicker...she then says to me "Well if I change anything or take it off this will come out of my check." Sorry, Alex but that isnt my issue. Me paying for dinner for my family when you put in the correct order and having cold food is coming out of my check. I advise anyone to not go to this location. Travel the extra 4 miles to the Three Dollar in Sandy Springs or just go somewhere else. We also ended up barely making our event due to the length of time it was taking. The grilled chicken wrap laced with lettuce, tomato, ​and some garlic mayo dressing. I wolfed that down no problem. Inside the decor is happy hour friendly, rustic high-end​ dive bar because come on it's Buckhead. Go there to watch an ESPN game, stay away from the scene. The staff is pretty good, efficient but understaffed so it takes a while for the ​food to come in. I do like the menu though. Loaded from chicken fingers, potato skins, chipotle​ cheese dip. Their entrees around dinner time average $13-$15 a plate with items from spaghetti​, lime chicken to alfredo whether shrimp or chicken. Of course,​ they have sammiches and plenty of choices of sammiches from grouper, the Cuban​ and Reuben​n (definitely going to do a review on this alone and this can either bump them up/down a star off Reuben​). BEST WINGS IN TOWN... I am somewhat new to Yelp, but have been going to this location of 3 Dollar since they moved in 10 years ago (Roswell Rd / between Wieuca and Windsor Parkway). I have ordered most everything on the menu over the years, but I am particularly fond of the blackened grouper, the wings and the All American salad (with grilled chicken). Service is always amazing !!! An extremely low turnover of waitstaff tells me that this place is run well and that folks are happy with their jobs there. A happy staff sets such a great tone for any restaurant, and I think this all begins with the owner- Peter. A great place most any time of day or night....Great for the family, great to watch a game, great lunch spot with your co-workers, and even a great date spot. Call ahead and even get your food to go. On a scale of 1-5, this place is a 10. Great people and consistently good food will keep us coming back for many more years. read more

Unfortunately I have to leave a star. I would leave none if possible. This was a terrible experience. This is not a friendly establishment. My family and I came in and we have my service dog. The employees watched us come in and sat us on the patio. We were only sitting for a few minutes when one of the employees rudely told us that Atlanta does not allow pets onto the patio. Which is weird because we drove by earlier and they're were several couples of outside with their pets and where eating their meals. The employee didn't even ask which I know they're not allowed to. Lots of tv's and a large menu with many food choices. I have been to this location about (7) times. Very disappointed in couple of the servers. One female server in particular frowns and has no interest in customer service. She spends little time listening and sadly is rude. We have always been Taco Mac wing people, because we used to live around the corner from one. Now we live almost equal distance in the middle between Taco Mac and Three Dollar Cafe. We've begun to choose Three Dollar more and more over Taco Mac. The wings are really good, and I weirdly love their ranch and French fries. Patio is lovely. The hostess and the waiter were pretty unfriendly, almost to the point of being rude. Ordered a rum and coke and it was just a coke, so I got a Moscow mule and it was straight up ginger beer. I drank less than a quarter of it but paid $8.50 for the drink. I'd say if you come here and want a good strong liquor drink go to the bar because I've gotten great drinks here at the bar. Wings were good. Service was good. Beer was cold. Reuben sandwich was not a reuben. 3 Dollar has one of the best reuben's in Atlanta, but not this location. The sauce came on the side! You want it cooked into the sandwich so it's part of the gooey cheesy goodness. I've been going to 3 Dollars for 20+ years, and never seen it like that. I specifically asked our waitress whether it was made the same as other locations and she assured me it was. As made, it's not a Reuben, it's a corned beef sando w sauerkraut. Mentioned it to the guy who brought it who looked like the manager. His ridiculous response was "We are catering to our demographic. So many people ask for it on the side we just serve it like that now." Bull. The cook forgot it and they straight up lied to my face. Good thing I hadn't told the other people with me to get it cause it was so good(j/k, I had). stopped for lunch here today, first time here, and while the place was nice enough, not impressed with the customer service: I am standing right by the register and no one asks me anything, so I ask for a menu since I don't see any, and was told to hold (which is not an issue), she assists other customers already seated and then FORGETS to give me a menu, so after standing a while and she's back and forth and around from the register, she asks if I've been helped, I said no, she asks what would I like, I say well I don't know yet because I haven't seen what's on the menu, she gets a little annoyed look on her face and said she didn't know I needed one (now how is that possible when I've been the only one standing at the cashier counter for quite a few minutes, with nothing in my hand? and why no apology at this point instead of the sour/annoyed face?), I order, and am given no direction after she charges my card, so now I have to actually ask if she wants me to wait there or where do people with take out orders usually wait for the food, so she points me to the bar, then when the food comes, I double check on my way out if she had put a fork in the bag and sure enough she had not. So, forgot me, forgot my menu, forgot my eating utensils, and no smile and no apology. North River Tavern down the road never gives me that sort of service...just as a comparison...too many options out there for anyone to dish out bad customer service. Also, it wasn't just me, I noted other people (males) who came in and had to ask where to sit for someone to acknowledge them standing there, and instead of just being shown a seat were told they can sit "wherever." One guy joked about sitting exactly where he was standing (I am sure it was a subtle hint that "wherever" is not an appropriate response) and another group just didn't move off at all after being told that, which forced whichever waitress was addressing them to show them to a seat. Since moving to the Chastain area a few years ago, this place has become our favorite go-to place for dinner. It's a sports bar, but the food is fresh and delicious. My family loves the wings and the burger here is one of the best in town. There is a nice large patio and it is awesome to eat outside on a nice day. My only complaint is that it can get a little loud. There are tons of families that come here after sports at Chastain Park. Most of the kids are very well behaved, but some are not. But hey, it's a sports bar. I do not come here to have a quiet meal. read more

I visited Three Dollar Cafe on 7/26/2019 in Jonesboro, Georgia . My experience was horrible. My order did not get taken until 40 minutes after being seated and I did not receive my food until another 40 minutes. Although it was during lunch time, the restaurant was not packed and a party of 10 came in afterwards and got their order first. The manager took forever to come see me when I asked to speak with him. And although he apologized verbally, he was unapologetic. The food here is good but I will never want to visit again because of my bad experience today. I would like to speak with someone in the corporate office about this matter. read more
