Plates big enough to share, that's for sure! I tried their fresh fish sandwich and salad. Both were amazing, but so filling! Food! Service! Vibe! We had such a great time! We made a reservation for Friday night 6:45 PM. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we arrived, the restaurant was already very busy. There were people around the bar and it looked like all the tables were full inside and out enjoying the evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was extremely attentive, cheerful, and made sure we were well taken care of. (Wendy) We ordered the filet with smashed potatoes and the Maui ribeye with broccoli. The food was fantastic. My husband's filet was perfectly woodfired and seasoned with a nice salt crust, and perfectly cooked to medium rare. When I say perfectly, I mean perfectly. I'm not sure who their meat distributor is, but it was an excellent cut of meat or we just hit them on a great night. The Maui ribeye was also fantastic. It has more of a sweet marinade flavor, which I loved. We would definitely return for both of those entrées again. Both of our entrées came with smashed potatoes. Came for dinner and left feeling satisfied. We started with some glasses of Prosecco which took a while to arrive but the waiter apologized and said the bar was backed up. For the entree, I got the Brasserie Chicken, without capers and switched the side of broccoli for extra mashed potatoes. The chicken was good, but could have used a little more of the lemon sauce. The bites with the lemon sauce were delicious though. It comes with small tomato chunks on top which added a little extra juice. The mashed potatoes were creamy and had just the right amount of flavor. The portion was substantial and I took the remainder home in a to go box. The wait staff was very friendly, and although my water glass did sit empty a few times, it was never difficult to flag someone down for a quick refill. There are lots of booths, tables, and also some bar seating. We did make a reservation for this and it was moderately busy on a Saturday night. I ordered one martini cost me $27. This is not New York City and you restaurants need to learn where you're located and what you're charging. I will go Hals steakhouse in Buckhead that charges less. Hals Restaurant is five stars all day long and has never charged what you charge for a drink. Their service their steaks their drinks are amazing. The food here was amazing. My steak was a high quality cut that was perfectly cooked. They had a Cajun seafood pasta that everyone at the table shared and enjoyed. My daughter got the Mac and cheese that she got last time and enjoyed it just as much this time. The spinach con queso and chips was so good we ended up ordering a second round! Honestly, this is never a bad idea for lunch. We stop in here from time to time if we know we're going to Perimeter Mall, which is just across the street. We are always able to be seated immediately which is nice! Normally it's just me and hubby but we had the two tiny ones in tow this day. Their food came out fast and first (a plus!) and they ate it with no trouble. Having them there also means I spent an inordinate amount of time accompanying someone to the bathroom. This was about to be a 0 review - we were sat down for lunch and then forgotten. After seeing others that had come in around us being served and we hadn't even gotten water, we figured it was time to go someplace else and walked out. We did let the hostess know that we had never seen a server and continued walking back to our car. The Assistant GM found us in the parking lot as we were backing out. She explained that our server had a medical emergency and apologized for no one else covering our table. She did encourage us to give them another chance and turned a never going to go there again experience into a when we are looking for steak that we will go back there experience. read more

I'll be staying with the Thai Kai salad from here on. I tried the filet with bearnaise sauce and was disappointed. The steak had the kitchen torch fuel taste. I ordered Medium rare and it arrived rare which I didn't mind however the fuel taste on the filet was a no go for me. J. Alexander's has been a family favorite for years. Mac n cheese is always delicious and so is the French dip sandwich. Our server, Addison, was kind and attentive. The hostesses need some training in hospitality. There were 4 girls behind the desk, 3 of whom appeared very confused and 1 waiting for direction from the other 3. No one was waiting at the desk but it was 5-10 minutes before we were greeted. Went here for Sunday dinner with the husband and kids. Food was good, however, the experience was tainted by our server who persistently asked us, while we were still chewing, with half full plates and still holding silverware if we needed 'to go boxes'. I landed at J Alexander's on a day I designated for self-care! Yay for prioritizing ME time! I arrived at lunch with no reservation and was offered a table at the bar. The bartender was a little slammed with a weekday lunch crowd, so I prepared myself for a bit of a wait. Nope! Quite unexpectedly, the general manager, Reed, appeared from the kitchen and kindly stopped to take my drink order. I was so appreciative for the team effort! I decided to be good and bad, so I ordered a house salad with a side of French fries! I love J Alexander's fries (slender and crispy!) - they're some of the best around. The salad is good, too - look at all the veggies (and bacon) atop my greens (see pic!) The bar area is loud around lunchtime, but it was a non factor for me as I was simply enjoying some web surfing over my meal. This is a 5-star review because of the service. The bartender, Bry, was so friendly and attentive even though she was so busy. Again, Reed, the general manager, promptly kicked things off on a courteous note! Reservations are recommended! A week ago today a friend and I had an early dinner here (I guess that's what it was). YELP, it exceeded my expectations! Like , exceeded. My friend had come to this location a couple of times and spoke highly of her previous meal and experience. I trust this friend soooo instead of trying somewhere new(which I love to do) .... We came here. There's something about being hungry. You want to go somewhere solid. Somewhere tried & true. Ok! I immediately loved the atmosphere here. It's so relaxing. It was perfect for having adult conversations with my friend over a good cocktail and a good meal. I ordered an old fashioned to sip on. My friend had something yummy and sexy to drink. I forgot the name of her cocktail of choice. We both enjoyed our drinks. (See pics of my drink) We both ordered the chicken fingers entree. This was a lot of food!!! Coleslaw and fries as my side were perfect! This dish didn't miss. I know I know , it's chicken but very crispy outside and juicy , tender white meat inside. (See pics) I added a Caesar salad. It was outstanding! I didn't think I would eat all of it but I definitely put a dent in it! The tomatoes I requested to be added were a nice touch. Oh and the dressing seem homemade. Wonder salad !!! I originally met a friend at another restaurant, but the wait was 30 minutes. We decided to walk across the parking lot to see what the wait was at Alexander's. They were able to get us right to a table and we had our food before the 30-minute wait would have had us seated at the original restaurant. I thrive on customer service which in turn makes the dining experience better...aside from the preparation & taste of the food. The menu offers contemporary American & wood-fired cuisine. The bar seems to be a lively spot as the Bartenders are uber-friendly & not just with mixing cocktails. Lettie, our Server has wonderful table service & went the extra mile to ensure I was able to have a good meal amongst the meat eaters...the Ribs were a hit. I started off with the house-made Veggie Burger - not a fan at all. It was dry & bland...I really would like to see a Beyond or Impossible Burger on menus nowadays. After Lettie made a few trips to the kitchen, I got a heaping plate of veggie pasta & was happy with the creativity & taste. The AGM stopped by our table to check in & again, which coincides with my perspective of dishing out good customer service. The price point works for the dining establishment & menu. I attempted to go to the Peachtree Corners location but there was a hour wait. So we drove the short distance to the Perimeter location. It was busy Sat night but we were seated immediately upon arrival. Our waiter Brandon didn't offer his name. He seemed a little tired already. Nonetheless, he turned out to be a good waiter once we ordered. I was disappointed that the steak egg rolls weren't available. However, the chicken egg rolls were delicious . My steak burger was average. I admit I was expecting more but it was still okay. The Mac n cheese was good. My dinner guests liked the Rattlesnake pasta and their steak. J. Alexander's is a good spot for dinner. I thought the food and service were great and the ambiance was welcoming. I had the grilled salmon, subbed the orzo and wild rice for broccolini. It was delicious! The fish was nice and flaky, perfect temp. A friend ordered the same dish so I did still get to try the orzo and wild rice. It was pretty good. Note, if you get this dish the rice is chilled, which isn't too bad since it has the dried fruits. I'd get it if i were in the mood for something cold. We also had carrot cake. Because it was my friend's bday they comped the dessert. The cake was warm and moist. Sooo good. Good location... near everything by Perimeter Mall. Plenty of free parking. My mom is obsessed with J. Alexander's, so we come here and order for takeout often. Here's what I've gotten: - Old Fashioned Cheeseburger ($17): Good. The burger is big. The fries are good, but they don't hold up as well in takeout. - Grilled Salmon (around $33; they list it as Market Price): This is delicious!! The salmon was grilled to perfection. The Orzo & Wild Rice side that it comes with is amaaaaazing. - Alex's Salad (add to entrée for $8): The price for adding this to an entrée has gotten higher, but the portion has gotten smaller. I get it with the champagne vinaigrette dressing and it's good, but I'm reconsidering ordering it now that it's $8 and smaller than it used to be. We recently went here for my mom's birthday and they gave us free carrot cake! It was really good! The dishes are good and the portions are fairly big, but it's pretty expensive for what it is. read more
