The saying "Don't judge a books by its cover" rings true for this long time Atlanta Sports bar. Like many of it's kind, Three Dollar's interior is dim lit, old, and dirty, but the food is quite tasty. First and foremost, the wings are awesome. They are big wings, and have alot of good meat on them. The best sauce in my opinion is the medium buffalo sauce. This sauce has the perfect amount of spice. Goes perfectly with some cool ranch dressing. The sandwiches and wraps are worth your money as well. My personal favorite is the TDC wrap, which is chicken fingers, lettuce, tomato, buffalo sauce, cheese in a grilled tortilla. Their cheesesteaks are solid too. Their fries are usually very crispy, and are steak fires, which you don't see often. Three dollar has a large outdoor seating area, and has a ton of T.V.'s inside and out to watch any game. The waiters and waitresses are not the most cheerful, but they do their jobs well, which is all I ask. The manager, who has been there for a very long time, is always working at the front of the house, seating and greeting customers in a friendly manner. I try to go to Three Dollar a few times a month, especially during football season. That being said, be wary of trying to go to the Three Dollar Cafe on Friday and Saturday nights when there are big sports games on. There will most likely be a wait. All in all, a well run establishment with some mileage on it and most importantly, some damn good wings. read more

Ate lunch here today and won't be back. Started when I entered and had to wait for the guy at hostess stand to stop scrolling on his phone and finally notices me and seats me. Ordered a sandwich and a side & iced tea. Food comes out & was amazing. Wait a few min on check which is brought out by a different girl than the one that took my order. I noticed price was a dollar more than what I remembered on menu. She said, "yeah , prices went up". I said you should update the menu, she said "that's the price". I asked for the other server. She comes and says: "cuban sandwich is $12.98". I said I got chicken & cheese sandwich, which is $11.99. She said I "upgraded my side". I said I didn't. She said "I could argue with the manager" and walked off. The dweep that seated me (NO way he was the manager!) comes over and and shows me the menu and insists I upgraded my fries (I didn't). This wasn't about the money. It was about customer service, of which this restaurant is clearing lacking. And explains why this prime Buckhead location was (maybe) 20% occupied at 12:45pm. If you enjoy your food made with sweat, snot, and potentially the coronavirus feel free to be a patron at this disgusting establishment. While looking for the restroom my son and I made the mistake of walking towards the kitchen where we noticed that the kitchen staff wore no gloves and were knuckles deep in preparing food. I even spotted one worker wiping the sweat off of his forehead and nose only to place his hands back on the sandwich he was preparing. When I spoke to my server about the issue she tried to tell me that they do wear gloves, after I mentioned that I had just walked back there she proceeded to tell me with an attitude that it was illegal for me to have walked back there. At that point there was no way my family and I were going to eat here. I was so appalled that I left my phone behind when I went back inside to get it I attempted to record a video of what I had witnessed the kitchen staff still had not put on any gloves. The owner then had the audacity to put his hands on me to stop me from recording. This had to be the most disgusting establishment I've ever attempted to patronize from the owner all the way down to the staff. This place honestly should be shut down. After the Three Dollar closed on Peachtree, this one opened in a drastically smaller location even after closing in their even smaller open air patio. You have to park either at the Mexican place across the street or the other Spanish place next door. Get the trend?! There were so many sad guys over 30 in here high-fiving I thought I was in a John Hughes movie. No matter where you tried to hide, they were stacked in packs all over the place. Took forever to get out 3 beers, got charged .89 for the ranch dressings we NEVER got either. Told her we had honey dressing for the salad not RANCH. The old closed Three Dollar Cafe in Kennesaw had left a bad reputation of service and food quality in my my mind. We arrived just at the start of the Georgia game so the place was packed inside. We opted for the Patio to get our party of three sat quickly, and within 15 minutes the patio was filled too. It took a while to actually get service to the table. Im assuming this was because they were busy trying to figure out which of the thirty tables that just poured in had been waiting the longest. The cute poor waiter was obviously trying very hard to get to everybody as quickly as possible. He talked so fast I could barely understand him. We explained that we were trying to eat quickly to get out in time to make a movie and to please bring the check with the food and he did just that. He got one drink order wrong, but quickly fixed the mistake - no biggie. I was pleasantly surprised to find that even the SALAD (baby spinach) was yummy. Typically wing joints aren't known for their salads, but this one was really good! The wings were tasty. Not the best i've had in my life, but i'd come back for them again on a game day. There is something about the combination of the roll, the blue cheese, the buffalo sauce, and the super moist chicken breast, that just makes me crave this masterpiece. Fantastic wings! Typically visit on NFL Sunday's. They have a ton of TV's and fans from all teams are watching. Usually have sound on for the Falcons (or the best game at the time slot). There is a nice covered patio with additional TV's. Outside of the wings, the rest of the food is pretty average. They could use some seasoning on fries (they have none). The chicken tenders are always good and the homemade honey mustard is great. Friendly staff - they can get a little busy during the games and disappear for a while but overall we haven't had any other issues. Visited Three Dollar Cafe today for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Our server, Noah, was sweet and attentive. We got potato skins for an appetizer; nothing amazing (just potato, bacon, and melted cheese) but good. I also ordered the Cuban sandwich which was absolutely delicious and HUGE. I took the other half to-go. It came with really yummy fried plantains and house potato chips which lacked seasoning. My husband got teriyaki wings, which he loved. This is a dimly lit sports bar with lots of televisions, so nothing fancy, but the food was solid and they have a decent draft and bottled beer selections that are decently priced too. I absolutely love TDC food I've been to the Sandy Springs and McDonough location which are both great! This location in Buckhead however is less than good. We arrived around 8:14pm. They were closing around 9pm so I know we probably needed to order soon. Upon arrival the lady said we could sit anywhere which was nice since a lot of tables where open. We choose to sit in a booth. She came by 10minutes later which I found odd because we were one of the only tables there. We ordered our drinks which no lie took about 25 min. Not only did it take long it tasted terrible! Two more family's came in and one sat behind us and eventually I overheard them asking for their drinks as well and the server just pointed at the bar saying she was about to get them. I read some reviews but I was really hopeful because all other TDC establishments ARE GREAT. We actually tried to wave the server down to order and she ignored us. We actually ended up getting up and just leaving. There was a family just standing waiting for someone to great them to seat them and no one even paid attention to them. As we were leaving they asked why we were leaving and we explained the service was awful. I'm not sure if anyone reads this but I really hope they find someone to fix this place up and hire people who actually care about the service industry! read more

I did a good ol' Yelp search for hot wings. The name says they are the best wings in Atlanta. That was WRONG! The ambiance was cozy but the food was mediocre. The wings were DRY to the bone and overly fried. I ordered hot Buffalo wings with lemon pepper dry rub with a side of steam vegetables. It was speckles of pepper not an actual lemon pepper dry rub and my vegetables had no seasoning. My sons friend then had an ice cube that froze a piece of black something. I frequent Three Dollar Cafe. This was my first and last experience at this one. We came on a Saturday Night 2 1/2 hours before an event in Atlanta. The service here was the problem and should be addressed. Train your staff adequately. We were seated in maybe 15 minutes. 15 Minutes later No one came over to our table. I had to ask who our server was. That should've been indicative of the situation to come. Alex took our order and didnt apologize for the wait at all. I also, didnt realize that this was a beer and wine establishment only. We waited almost 50 minutes for food. When we received our orders they got my fiancee's order wrong. After waiting 50 MINUTES they didnt offer any type of solution. They just said they would remake hers so we couldnt even eat together. My wings got cold waiting and my sisters Grouper sandwich also got cold because we wanted to eat together like anyone going out to eat would. Alex admitted her mistake saying she rung in Chicken tenders instead of Grouper fingers. I told Alex my concern. Here is the kicker...she then says to me "Well if I change anything or take it off this will come out of my check." Sorry, Alex but that isnt my issue. Me paying for dinner for my family when you put in the correct order and having cold food is coming out of my check. I advise anyone to not go to this location. Travel the extra 4 miles to the Three Dollar in Sandy Springs or just go somewhere else. We also ended up barely making our event due to the length of time it was taking. From Roswell Rd, Three Dollar Cafe looks like your average dive sports bar, and it pretty much is. But I kinda like 'em that way. The inside is dark, but clean. I haven't sat outside, but the patio looks nice. There are a bunch of nice TVs with the standard sports selection, and Id imagine that during prime sports times its a great place to sit and watch the games. The menu, as some others have mentioned, is a bit erratic, but its all tasty. For all the health-conscious types, they have a great salad selection. Soft drinks are HUGE, and service, at least when there aren't a bunch of games on, is quick and the staff is nice. I go here because its in the neighborhood. This has been one my more favorite spots for years. I really dug the Buckhead location (which is closed unfortunately) in its heyday. The Roswell Rd location is much smaller but it does have an adequate patio and dining area. The atmosphere is of a typical sport bar - pub environment. There aren't too many thrills, just beer, wings and TV's to catch your favorite sporting event. The service was decent and above average as the cute waitress served us. I had the buffalo wings naked ordered wet and hot (wet means the wings come drenched with buffalo wing sauce). They were cooked well throughout and very flavorful. They were of above average quality and do recommend them. You must have a pitcher of beer with those. It's only natural as they both go hand in hand. In addition I had the country burger which was cooked to order and was of average quality. Yes, it is better than Taco Mac, unfortunately Taco Mac's burgers are among the least flavorful plus grizzly. It came with steak fries which were of course of frozen quality but edible nonetheless with a nice dousing of ketchup and salt. The bun was fresh with an abundant side of lettuce and tomatoes. In the past I have eaten the buffalo chicken sandwich which I had enjoyed. I do recommend that as an alternative to say a burger or another sandwich. 3-stars because this is one of the few places open late weeknight in Buckhead but wow, can't believe so many people took a squat and had a big dump on this place. Well,​ the name is misleading for starters because there's no $3 about it. That's how they lured us in. It's just a higher end Waffle House for me I'd say. Heard this place was the bomb, but it wasn't even a firecracker. But the food is good though. I had the chicken wrap with steak fries. They are kind of stingy on the steak fries but they are huge. The grilled chicken wrap laced with lettuce, tomato, ​and some garlic mayo dressing. I wolfed that down no problem. Inside the decor is happy hour friendly, rustic high-end​ dive bar because come on it's Buckhead. Go there to watch an ESPN game, stay away from the scene. The staff is pretty good, efficient but understaffed so it takes a while for the ​food to come in. I do like the menu though. Loaded from chicken fingers, potato skins, chipotle​ cheese dip. Their entrees around dinner time average $13-$15 a plate with items from spaghetti​, lime chicken to alfredo whether shrimp or chicken. Of course,​ they have sammiches and plenty of choices of sammiches from grouper, the Cuban​ and Reuben​n (definitely going to do a review on this alone and this can either bump them up/down a star off Reuben​).
