So I was driving down Rosswell and my wife says, "three dollar cafe. I wonder if there food is three dollars". By me just moving to Atlanta and being on a budget I figure, let's check it out! So we pull in and the parking lot is pretty small. And when we walk inside we also notice the place is pretty small. Alot smaller then it looks on the outside. Odd, yes I know. Lol So when I look at the menu, the first thing I ask myself is where is the three dollar items. Lol. There isn't any! But regardless, we stay and grab some food anyway. The wings was perfect! I will defiantly go back there for some more wings. I also ordered some chili cheese fries and they was not that great. So I would just recommend wings to anyone. And maybe a beer or two. Nothing impressive here. Despite a less than inviting streetscape, I just happened to be in the area and stopped in. I walked in with the thought of checking out a new place and grabbing something small to eat. There was absolutely nothing on the menu that looked appetizing, except the tortilla soup. I figured I would give it a shot, and if I liked it, I would stick around for something more. How big is a cup of soup? 8 ounces? I ate less than half before asking for my check. The bartender was a little on the rude side, acting as though I was putting her out to have to get food (despite the empty room), and was also put off that I asked for the check. First of all there was no where at all to park. After waiting for ages this lady finally left so we took her spot. We were seated at this dirty, greasy table. I've lived down the street from TDC for nearly 10 years and have occasionally stopped in here, usually for Sunday lunches with family. If you're looking for decent bar type food with something a little extra, this is a definitely a place to consider. I favor the Buffalo sandwich, and the wings are pretty good, as are a number of the other menu items, but nothing really has ever jumped out as exceptional. The place does get a little crowded and some of the tables in the front give me a clastrophobic feeling. I would definitely ask for a booth if possible. I wouldn't rate it as one of my favorite restaurants, but I've never had a poor experience either. You're pretty safe if you are looking for a wide selection of American grub. read more

Really I'm giving this place 3.5 out of 5. I haven't been to this exact spot in 5 yrs or more. Wings were great as expected. Service was above average. Nice flat screen tvs is a plus. I love smaller older dive looking bars. The bad. The place really is a hot dirty mess. Perhaps I just missed a busy lunch crowd but the floor was horrendous. Looks like they have not done a proper cleaning in ages. There is no excuse for not looking clean. I was praying I wouldn't see as rodent dash across the floor while waiting for our food. I couldn't locate the health score but I would be shocked if it were over 75. Even though food was good I may just return next time you have a few beers to play it safe. If you are looking for a super laid back atmosphere with yummy affordable food this is the place to visit. We love to come here when we want something super yummy and relatively quick. We always order the mozzarella sticks. They are by far the most delicious mozzarella sticks I have ever eaten. They are twice the size of regular sticks and always the perfect crispness!! So good! On this particular visit today we shared a grouper sandwich. Now this sandwich is delicious perfectly seasoned and fried and large enough to fill two people. The service was great as well, it literally always is especially at this location. The food is good... I love the nacho mountain. This last time I went the service was terrible. The waiter came and got our drink orders and came back out here 3 times in 15 minutes.. still no drinks. I literally have enjoyed coming here since 1990 or '91. I have come back at least once or twice per year. The building hasn't changed and neither have the wings. A lot of three dollar cafes have come and gone, but this location, in my opinion, is the best. Their wings are great. Their squash casserole is awesome. The french fries are of the steak fry variety. The only reason I am giving this place one star is because I have no option to give no stars. Went in between shifts (3pm Tuesday 3/8/16 )and was immediately greeted when we sat down. However, it being our first time in the restaurant, we asked for more time to look over the menu. 30 minutes later, we decided to leave and go to North River Tavern because the girls working were too caught up speaking with themselves. We both work in restaurants (hence the double) so we understand downtime and distractions.
