Was a great treat to find this little cafe at Hapuna Beach! After enjoying the beach we wandered up to Three Frogs Cafe and ordered some lunch! We ordered the: Kailua Taco Combo with Ipo's Hawaiian Salad - the Pork was super tasty and served with a fresh mango salsa. The salad wasn't our favourite but then Li-hing mui pineapple was really tasty! Chicken Sandwich with Fries the Grilled Pineapple was such a great addition! To end our meal we ordered a Shaved Ice with Ice Cream...so good! They put ice cream in the middle of the bowl and then pack shaved ice around it. You can choose 3 flavours from a long list...we chose: Pina Colada Mango Passion fruit Such a great combo! The view from the tables at the cafe is amazing and there is a great breeze that funnels through. Being the only place that serves food in the area it gets pretty busy. We took our food to a near by covered picnic table that had a unobstructed view of the beautiful Hapuna Beach...was AMAZING! read more

Only one star because zero isn't available. This place should be reported to the authorities for robbery. $15 for a "fish" taco that consists mainly of cabbage. I usually don't use Yelp before adventuring to a new place because I like to make my own opinions but this place made me reconsider how I approach dinning. This cafe should change their name to Three Lazy Frogs Cafe. I was there 6/6 and walked up to the counter at 240pm to order food and was told the kitchen was closed, except for french fries. I see workers in the back and I asked what time does the kitchen close and the lazy worker said 3pm. So much for trying their fish tacos I read about from previous reviews. I've never seen such laziness and poor customer service. I guess this is considered island living that I keep hearing so much about; if that's the case count me out and I'll stay at my resort where their is first class customer service and a sense of urgency. I ended up ordering two shaved icees and they had no ice cream to add. How do you not have extra ice cream for your shaved icees? So we get our shaved icees and the flavoring has the after taste of plastic from the bottles they are sitting in. This place is crap and so are the shaved ice. I have had delicious tasting shaved ice on the mainland that would put Three Lazy Frogs to shame and out of business. read more

6 Killah Fish Tacos and two of their smoothies is the perfect lunch for a day at Hapuna Beach. Breaded fish, shredded lettuce, cheese, and sour cream combine to create the best fish tacos we have had. The mango salsa has a kick to it, and dresses the tacos nicely. We usually like to pair our meal with Guava Smoothies, but they were unfortunately out of guava. We substituted with a strawberry and piña colada. They were both very good. It is a cash only place. If you get the chance, be sure to grab lunch here in between relaxing in the sun and your boogie boarding excursions. read more

For starters this is a snack shop on the beach. So i was thrilled there was food offered on the amazing beach.As a tourist, you don't have the resources to be packing food. So for a snack shop the food was pretty good . Teriyaki grilled chicken sandwich was good and fresh. Chicken fingers was a safe bet too. Shaved ice looked amazing. Bring cash to this beach. Amazing food! My husband and I got and share a bacon cheeseburger, a jumbo chili cheese dog, an order of fries, a passion fruit smoothie, and a guava smoothie. Bacon cheeseburger: Delicious! I think they put baby souls in the meat... It was so good! Jumbo chili dog: I think they use a beef sausage. They were not kidding when they said jumbo. It was also very good. Smoothies: So so good! I personally like the passion fruit one was a little better, but you can't go wrong with either. Things to keep in mind: CASH ONLY. Seating is outside. It is shaded, but there are flies. For some reason these guys are the only food stand (at least as far as the eye can see) on Hapuna beach, which is my new absolute favorite beach EVER (see my review why it is so on my review collection). You would figure that having a monopoly on dining options make for bland cafeteria quality food, but thankfully the owners strive to give a good dining experience for those who didn't have the wisdom to bring their food with them to the beach. I had the pineapple cheeseburger, the fish tacos, and a guava smoothie. Yes, I was famished. No, I am not embarrassed. The cheeseburger was monstrous and had one endearing quality. The beef patty actually extended past the square inchage of the already large bun. Where's the beef? It's right here. The pineapple tasted like it was actually cut fresh from the pineapple, although I couldn't verify this visually. Maybe it's because even canned pineapple in Hawaii tastes fresh with the short transit time and all. The tacos were first rate and they were honking huge. No large empty sacs of batter that gives the false impression that you are getting your money's worth. You really are getting your money's worth. I'm kicking myself because I didn't get a photo of this place. The workers were very friendly and I am sorry that I didn't get a picture of them with me giving a thumbs up in the foreground. This isn't really a cafe, despite the name. It is a window from which you order beach food. It has covered outdoor seating between the beach and the parking lot. I got the double Killah Fish Tacos. One order is pretty good size. They have breaded fish, mint sour cream, cilantro, purple cabbage, lime, and cheddar cheese. The cheese isn't what I would choose if I was going to put cheese in these, but it doesn't ruin them. They were doing killah business, and the wait was @ 15min for our 2 orders of double Killah fish tacos, side of fries, and 1 shave ice. Seemed okay to me. We got a table, but if we hadn't, I'd have chilled on the grass, or found a rock or something. This IS the beach, so there were lots of bugs flying around and landing on us. read more

We had to ask for change and when we did, they scoffed at us. Plus we saw them tell a couple of German speakers that they didn't have something that was on their menu. Food was overpriced, service slow, and quality was just ok. They use frozen breaded fish, deep fried, in their tacos. If you can pack food from somewhere else, you're better off. read more

We tried the little pop up place at Hapuna beach. Best fish tacos I have ever had!! Super fresh local white fish, mango salsa that was freshly chopped, big portion....and all RIGHT on the beach! It was awesome. Plus the fruit slushies are great. We had mango and it was fabulous! read more

This is the only place around to eat especially if you're visiting the Hapuna Beach. This place has good food...you should expect 9 to 12 dollars for prices for most items. I got a BBQ Bacon and Cheese burger with fries and it was a good portion. Fresh ingredients, nice soft bun and fries. It took about 5 minutes after ordering to get my food, no big deal. Excellent beach, not so good with the snack shack! $50 for three meals which I expect on the island but since our ticket "flew off the line" we had to wait while they served multiple tables that came after us. I almost gave this one star, but I decided to be generous. The food here was okay, But they were out of a lot of several items. For example they didn't have the teriyaki chicken sandwich, they didn't have bacon for their crispy chicken sandwich, and they didn't have any chips. I found out about the chips the hard way - by the time I got back to the beach and opened the takeout containers, I found that there were no chips inside. However, they were supposed to come with the order and they charged me the full price, so they should have let me know upfront that they were out of chips or given me a discount. Both men working the counter seemed to be having a bad day. Neither smiled when taking my order, and I didn't even receive a short thanks when the order was filled. All in all, you can do much better if you stop by a dolly or grocery store for some takeout food. This beach has covered benches or you can sit down to eat, so it's easy to bring a picnic lunch. The beach is fantastic - just pack your own snacks and beverages. Prices run about $10 for a sandwich or burger, and $4.25 for a large soda. read more

We had heard a lot about the shaved ice from 3 Frogs before we came to the beach, so we had to stop by this morning. I have to say, we were not disappointed. The ice comes in one size: five dollars for a massive cup. You get two flavors, but for an extra 50 cents you can add a third. The pineapple was fantastic, but the fruit punch and cherry were so-so. The people working today were very friendly, and the seating works out, but you're at the beach - why would you sit up top when you can watch the waves crashing on the beach? We can't comment on any other food there, but I would get the shaved ice again. Pro tip: one order is probably enough to share. read more

Save your time and your money. I wasn't expecting the food to be great, but I still was really disappointed. Service is extremely slow and super unorganized. Mmmmmm Mmmmmm good!! I tried the Big Kahuna Sandwich and it was The Best! So big and huge amounts of tasty pulled pork! My husband loved it so much he almost stole it from me! lol The kids had the hot dog and chicken strips which was awesome as well. The hot dog was literally a foot long! And the hot dog was sliced in half and Grilled! which was Ah-mazing! The chicken strips were long juicy strips, very satisfying and filling. The killah fish tacos are the best tacos I've ever had ! The mango salsa that comes with it is so fresh and made perfectly . pairs great with the tacos. I also had the mango smoothie which was so good and refreshing. The customer service was great. I also recommend the shave ice with ice cream drizzle. Bring cash because its cash only . they also rent umbrellas and chairs, as there is no shade on this beach. I will deff be back ! read more
