I am pretty sure its not supposed to completely stall on eco Carpet was gross, window and door had something on it and gas cap was off when i went to fill it ourselves. Pretty sure it has rats or mice. Just glad it was barely able to get to speed south of the boulevard and pretty much on the highways. Terrible, terrible, morally corrupt company. I filled out my reservation online, and went to pick the car up at LAX. In my online reservation, I declined any additional coverage on the vehicle. The total price should have been around $200. Even though I had done this prior to picking up the car, while at the desk, the service agent quickly and quietly said, "And you said you just wanted to the most basic coverage option?" I said, "Yes," obviously thinking that he was confirming the information I've already selected/provided. He quickly had me sign the paperwork, and when looking over it, I realized that he had charged me over $200 extra for coverage that I didn't ask for. Come to find out, these service agents get commission if they sell this coverage. So I feel like I was intentionally duped into giving this guy extra money. When I contacted customer service (takes them 5-10 days to get back to you each time, by the way), they were absolutely no help. The only time they were quick to respond was when I finally disputed the charge with my credit card company. Suddenly they had plenty of time to send the credit card company a hand-written document as to why I couldn't dispute the charge. I wasn't worried since the website said they stay late for people and I had uploaded my flight information. Wrong. They closed so I couldn't even get my car until Saturday. When I walked in, they sent me back and forth between up stairs and downstairs while I traveled alone with a baby and a ton of gear. Had to wait while they took a cigarette break with no apology or offer to help. I had freaked myself out prior to my rental by reading all the one star reviews on here, so I felt the need to write this 5 star review because I had an amazing experience here. Don't let the 1 star reviews scare you off!I had no trouble picking up my car around 9pm on Monday. There was no line, and the car I had reserved via AAA in advance was available (a Nissan Pathfinder since I needed room for 7.) Magbet, my Thrifty agent, was so friendly and helpful. When I told him that I was a AAA member, I was able to get a free child seat and free extra driver added. Magbet even helped me carry the child seats to my car. He answered all of my questions and was able to get a supervisor if he didn't know the answer. I had no issues with returning the car either. Was not overcharged for anything. We had to wait 2.5 hours in line at Thrifty LAX - the agent said it's like that 24 hours a day, year round. The car they gave us had terrible mechanical problems & it took forever to reach someone on the phone only to be told it was a call center & I'd have to go in person to talk to them about ending my contract early or getting a different vehicle. I still had questions to ask the agent and she just ended the call even though I was saying please don't need this call, I have more questions to figure out a solution. Flew in from Atlanta to LAX for my sons graduation and the LAX Thrifty location did not honor my prepaid reservation made online and paid in full for the amount of $151.96 on 5/17/2024, For in-person Pick up date made on 5/28/2024. The counter person Rico and his supervisor Nick Godinez refused to accept the identical card and drivers license information I used to make the original reservation, also refused my Wells Fargo card, and ran a credit check, Although the charges were previously paid in full. I was literally stranded and had to walk a 1/4 mile to Enterprise rental who was able to get me in a car in no more than 15 minutes, with the identical credentials and payment method presented to the counter rep Rico at Thrifty. First I would like to say that I had placed a reservation through American forces travel and when I placed a reservation online I had requested for the drop off to be at the Burbank airport. However, when I went to LAX to pick up the rental, I didn't realize that the customer service representative had to change the drop off location to LAX without asking me and I know it was my fault for not checking before leaving the place but I was really tired. The flight was long and so when I did realize that he had changed the drop off location to LAX I decided to come to the thrifty location in Burbank to see if I could return it there. Thankfully I was able to do so because the manager Adam understood the situation was able to help me out. BUT when I was trying to return the rental, the lady that was taking the cars was being extremely rude and when I ask her for her name because I had forgotten her name, (i have really short term memory) she said to me, I already told you as if I'm not allowed to forget or ask again... this is my first time having this type of issue so I didn't wanna leave the car there with her even though I know that's the drop off because I wasn't even supposed to drop it off there. I was going to speak to a representative to see if I was able to leave it here at the Burbank airport, so then when I started walking away from her, she told me to fuck off and I asked her "did you really just told me to fuck off?" and she just looked at me like i was dumb. and when I asked her to take me to her manager, she just pointed and gave me a disgusting look like letting me know that she didn't care and clearly she didn't because you don't tell your customers to fuck off I wasnt mean or rude to her. This company fraudulent. There is an additional airport facility and tourist taxes that you would not pay if you rented the car elsewhere. They don't disclose that! Rent somewhere else if possible because after the extra 80 you are paying more. They will charge your credit card up to three times and you will have to call to get the money back. We have been charged about four times already on two different cards. So now the cards tied up. There's no supervisor available if you have any problems and every employee does as they please. I will never rent a car from Thrifty again. When I arrived at LAX airport! Was shocked to find a line several hundred people, some of whom were already waiting over 8 hours for a car. It was chaos. There were no cars available, even though people had reservations for cars. Thrifty took money from a lot of people even though there were cars. The situation was unbelievable. When I tried to cancel my reservation I was told that because it was less than 6 hours before my "pickup" time, I couldn't get my money back. Luckily I booked through Expedia. I should have read the reviews when booking this car. However, one doesn't think about having to do that at highly trafficked airports. I arrived at 10:38pm to pick up my rental car. The entire rental counter for all but Enterprise rentals were shut down, although they close at 11pm. When asking security where I could find someone to help me retrieve my vehicle they reported they all went home at 9pm because they ran out of vehicles. My reservation was made on July 31st and I was picking up my car on Oct 6th, it's completely unreasonable that a vehicle was not waiting for me. I was told that I could come back at 6am when the counter opened to possibly retrieve my car if my reservation was still valid the next day in their system. When I asked what I should do for the night I was now stranded in Burbank for, I was told to get a hotel, that would not be reimbursed (thanks to the Enterprise guy). All hotels Burbank, CA to West Hollywood, CA were completely booked unless I was willing to risk a 1 star motel alone. I was left to sit in the Burbank Marriott lobby for 6 hours (thankfully inside) at least until the Thrifty counter opened. The next morning I arrived at 5:45am to ensure I was first in line, and I was not. There were other several angry customers. The counter opened at 6:15, instead of 6. When I got to the counter and explained the situation I was told "That's hard" by the employee and was given a choice in red or blue vehicle because all he has was 2 compact cars. I booked an SUV. He told me to walk down and the key would be inside and head out. When I arrived at the vehicle it was covered in dings, scratches, and paint chips. When I asked for a vehicle inspection form I was asked why I had wanted one. (be sure to take pictures before you drive away. Even with the form filled out, they still tried to charge me till I showed them the photo evidence with the date and time-stamp). Running on 28 hours no sleep due to their lack of professionalism, and I was told nothing could be done to reimburse me for the difficulty, lack of service, or in general for the failings of their company. When I called customer service upon returning home I was told by the agent I was not allowed to know the name of the person I was speaking with and that I was ungrateful for only being given a $100 credit towards my next car with them within the next 6th months. The $100 doesn't even reimburse me for the headache or the vehicle I had. Stay far away from this company at the Burbank Airport if possible. Had they not had my reservation they "would make me a new one" for double my original, when they only had 2 vehicles on the lot, and 10 people in line. read more

I had a paid reservation for a rental car at Los Angeles airport confirmed with an arrival time of 11:30 pm. After waiting at the airport for an hour for a shuttle bus, I arrived at the rental office, where there was a line of more than 50 people with two employees. After waiting in line for 15 minutes, an employee shouted to the crowd that there were no cars available for at least five hours. By then, it was 1:00 in the morning. Nobody answered the phone at Thrifty's LA office or corporate customer service My family needed sleep so we took a Lyft to our hotel 45 minutes away.
