The food was absolutely amazing! We did have to wait for around 45 minutes but we came on a Sunday around 1 so I expected it. Our waitress was super nice and took care of us in a timely fashion. The food came out quick, hot, and delicious. I had the double dip French toast (HEAVENLY) and my boyfriend had the shrimp and grits. He scraped his bowl clean the portions are large and everything is so fresh! We loved it and will definitely come back next time we're in Atlanta. read more

The only bad thing I have to say about this place, which can be fixed quite easily, is the fact that they are cash only. They do have an ATM in the back, but when I'm charged an atm fee I always get a bit annoyed. The place is a very popular breakfast spot on Edgewood, and the food is a) great, b) made quickly, and c) priced right. The staff is very friendly and attentive; they made sure my coffee mug stayed full my whole time at the diner, which was at least an hour or two because I took some work calls while there. And they didn't rush me out either. read more

Just got a chicken susage biscut from Thumbs up Edgewood .They had a list on how you wanted your egg cooked. I ask for over easy. I don't like hard eggs. The egg looked and tasted like it was cooked for ten minutes. So basically I just paid them and got nothing. Ubereats will not do anything and apparently Thumbs up doesn't answer their phones. Why do people take your money and could careless about the finished product or the customer? Well you got my money sooooo. Stay away... Also the bag was opened and not stapled shut. This place rocks. Came here on vacation, and yes, it was insanely packed, but we waited a decent time and were seated at the bar. I think it would be best to avoid large groups here and just come out here with your SO or a buddy. Ordered the steak and eggs, wonderful! I also wanted a side of waffles (1 actually), but it was huge and fluffy and just wonderful. Service was fantastic, and we definitely felt welcome. This diner serves breakfast all day until 3pm, I ate at the Edgewood location. I had the Ultimate Seaside which is a combination of a few items the Sassy Scramble, Catfish ,Shrimp & Grits with a whole wheat biscuit. I sat at the counter were the service provided was on point, the waitress had boinic ear because she heard everything we requested with all the noose.. lol The food was AMAZING and it came out piping HOT. The Sassy Scramble had eggs, cream cheese & lox, I like them all separately however, together it was a very good combination. The whole wheat biscuit was hot and I enjoyed it with the home preserves. We also had the Special which was Surf & Turf it came with Catfish, smoked chicken wings, grits and a whole wheat biscuit. Those smoked chicken wings was the BOMB the smokey flavor made them finger lickn good. The half ice tea & lemonade had just the right sweetness. Was visiting atlanta and we just wanted to eat brunch in the area. Found this little gem on our way to the city. Parking was easy to find, but can be difficult if you're not an early bird like we were, we had parking right in the back. The restaurant accepts CASH only but they do have an atm machine inside. Came to this place with friends after closing a weekend of celebration. The food was average breakfast. This restaurant is hyped by a few people, and I've had much better brunch at different restaurants. The food isn't horrible, but this would probably be my last option if I want a breakfast meal. This is a cash only restaurant so be aware. There's an ATM located in the back. Also this restaurant is very packed despite of COVID and although they have a sign that says mask are required they are not enforcing the rule. read more

It was just ok. I've had better food and better service at other Atlanta diners. I think the biggest turn off is the cash only, the second would be servers bringing me the wrong drink and telling me "idk she just told me to bring this" and the third would be the bland waffles. Wonderful food, horrible service. Our waitress Laneefa took 17 minutes to greet us once we were seated. The wait was about 42 minutes, which was a long time for such horrible service. We both had omelettes and I had coffee. Laneefa the waitress not once offered any type of customer service, and I had to ask another waiter (who was excellent and was actually doing her job aka waiting her tables) just for a refill of coffee. If it wasn't for my wife Laneefa would not have gotten any tip from me, except to ask for a new waiter/waitress via a Manager. I love the Edgewood Thumbs Up Family! I've never had less than a 5-star experience at any visit! This morning I felt like brunch and we all know the best place to do that is THUMBS UP! They have several locations, but others have missed the mark in the past! This one is by far the best in my experience! The wait staff is always so accommodating and quick to greet! We had a crazy wait today but that was MY fault, make sure you speak to ANYBODY when you get there... The waitlist isn't accurate if you haven't checked in. Got blueberry pancakes this time, but the chicken sausage and uptown (half lemonade half tea) are always our favorites. Came in for a Saturday brunch. It was packed. They have this concept of putting your number in this computerized stand right as you walk in. The host that was handling it was really disorganized with keeping up with who is up next to be seated. So our wait was extremely long. We ended up just sitting in a booth that we saw was opened. We ordered the french toast, bacon, eggs, grits, the chicken strips and waffle meal and a sausage. My french toast and grits were really good. Everything else was just ok. Our waitress was attentive and nice. I parked in a lot right behind the restaurant for free. I've always heard good things about this spot but was a bit disappointed with the outcome. read more

Our Lyft driver recommended that's place for lunch and I am so happy he did. We ordered the catfish sandwich, Friend fish and grits and one of the specials of the day, The Edgewood heap (bowl of grits topped with 2 eggs, spicy chicken sausage and picodegallo with whole wheat biscuit on the side.
