Horrible experience! Service Date: 3/23/19 1) My mom took me here as a way for her to treat me to something nice. She got me a manicure and pedicure; but upon receiving the service we were disappointed. The water for the pedicure was cold and the massage on the leg was more like the women was petting my leg, rather than a gentle massage. And then when it came time to do my nails, they did the two colors i wanted, but failed to announce the additional charges it would tact on. :( Just because I did one finger a different color than the rest. 2) My mom got me the manicure because she thought I'd enjoy the massage that went along with it, but instead of getting a massage along my arms down to the hand, the lady just massaged the hands, which was rather disappointing. (Especially because I believe I had the manager.) 3) Two days later, Monday, March 25th, I noticed one of my fingers were red. I didn't really pay attention to it until the following day I noticed it was real swollen. I looked up online and it said to wait about a day or two and if it worsens seek medical attention. Well it got worse to the point of where my finger was a red and green tint. I took it the hospital where they I had to get four injections of numbing medication for them to slice my finger open to push out the puss. He asked if I got my nails done within the past week and I informed him saying that I got a manicure where they clipped my cuticles, etc and the doc said these cases are normally caused by manicurist and their tools!! Ugh, $250 in medical bills + the outrageous cost my mom paid for getting my nails done = Hand Down a Nightmare of Customer Service

Just got a fill, polish chipped, and acrylic needs to be all the way up the nail.

I am very particular when it comes to my nails, but let me tell you, I love this place! Everyone there is amazing, but I have to give a shout-out to Donald. Ladies, he's the best--seriously! I can show him anything, and he'll turn it into magic. I need to start posting his portfolio because every nail set he has done has been incredible! He takes his time, never rushes, and communicates everything with me. His pedicures are perfect, too! As I mentioned, I'm quite picky and often get anxious about going places, but I've never had a single bad experience here. Even my brows by Mandy was perfect! read more

Mandy is AMAZING! Came in with a vague idea of what I wanted, and she totally brought it to life. She's so patient and really took her time to make sure every detail was perfect. The woman employee needs to be a bit more friendly and not so moody. She had the water too hot, so I told her about this being too hot. I pulled my feet out of the water and all she was concerned with was getting water all over the floor. I had also asked her a question and she seemed to ignore me. My nails I wanted a natural look, he rushed my nails and complained because I wanted a clear color so my nails could look natural. My nails were lumpy and rushed and. I get my nails done regularly (every two weeks) I heard there was a place I should try... so, I find myself here at Thunderbirds nails... oh dear , where to begin???? The customer is expected to chose nail dip color through the color in the jar? (apparently regulars here are risk takers ). I recovered from this shock and took the plunge on a unknown nail color(I was hopi g for light pink) . Well, then he begins taking the dip off like you would an acrylic nail! I was surprised so I asked "what are you doing?" Then he said "uh okay I'll soak them" ... okay so he then brings out a bowl of acetone to soak my fingers in??? WTF? I said "uh aren't you going to wrap my nails???" He replied "if you want" again, WTF? "If I want?" I said "no thanks I'll just pay you for the massacre of my thumb nail and I'll go somewhere else" . I get the feeling they're use to cutting edges around this nail shop, which isn't my style! Unfortunately, my daughter had already began getting her pedicure so I was forced to sit in their waiting chairs... As I'm sitting here minding my own businesses , the gentleman is nice enough to start talking with a customer regarding my lack of knowledge of the proper way to apply dip powder and why his way is superior etc... Since I did not want his so called expertise( my nails being butchered or soaked in acetone in the attempt of him taking off my previous dip) I can not attest to his expertise... My experience was horrible and I would not recommend this nail shop to anyone! read more

My last review was not great, but I feel Ann has redeemed herself in my eyes. The polish was perfect, the nails were exactly how I wanted them and there was absolutely no wait when I walked in. I think this would have been my new go to salon had I not found out that the prices change from person to person. For instance, they charged me $32 for a simple fill with gel, no design or anything else. When I spoke with my friend who usually goes there and gets the SAME fill WITH matte finish, she's only charged $25! WTF is up with that shit!? Why are the prices not posted?! read more

SO I have gone to this shop before covid, they do great fills. But my friend an I went in for pedicures, we go every time together, last pedicure we got we were in Palm Desert. We both just get regular polish. Well when the ped is over she said my total was 60.00 and my friends was 30. Why the big difference I ask, and manicurist says she put gel on my toes so it was more, and she said thats what I had on before, no I did not and she never asked if thats what I wanted. Just did it. My friend pop up and said that I did not have gel and the manicurist said we were calling her a lier, so I just paid it. I went to give her a tip, all I had was a 10.00 I gave that to her intending on giving her 5.00, she said thanks and walked away!!! So 70.00 for a pedicure is a bit much. If you go to this shop make damn sure you tell them exactly what you want. read more

I was completely disappointed with this place. Every time we went we had a bad experience. ESPECIALLY the last time. Let me tell you what happened the last visit. 1). First of all, my mother and I made appointments for 10am. Mind you, I HAD AN APPOINTMENT. I had to wait AN HOUR AND A HALF. For a fill and pedicure. I don't mind waiting. But to wait an hour and a half is completely outrageous. Especially when no one else there told me why. 2). Secondly, they knew when my appointment was. AND TOOK SOMEONE WHO HAD A LATER APPOINTMENT BEFORE ME. Not an apology was given FOR ANYTHING. 3). They also never talk to you, as they're working on you. It's completely awkward sitting there staring at them. 4). Every time I left this place, my nails were completely crooked. They weren't straight at all. read more

Went to visit my sister who lives in banning and needed our nails done! Tony took us in 1 hr before closing with 4 people ahead of us. He stayed an extra Hr & 1/2 to take care of us! Almost 5 weeks later. Gel is still perfect and no lifting at all! Thank you Tony! read more

I wish I could give 0 stars but this is horrible and no good very dirty and he tricked me with my money in telling 50$ just for my feet is crazy I can get a full set with that. As I walked up, I appreciated that the sign clearly states that walk-ins are welcome since I didn't make a reservation prior to arriving. Upon entering the shop shortly after they opened for the day, I surprised by how large and well organized the it was. After approaching the counter, I asked the employee if she would be able to wax my face since all information online mentioned only threading eyebrows. The employee informed me that yes, they do waxing but I would have to wait since she had just turned the wax on to warm up. After getting go waxing confirmed, the employee directed me to a touch screen board to select what waxing I wanted done which was waxing of my chin, neck, and sides of my face. While sitting waiting for my turn, I enjoyed the chill vibe created by having a television on that played upbeat yet mellow music videos. Fifteen minutes later, the employee guided me to a chair to have my waxing done. After confirming with me the areas I wanted waxed, she went to work on my face and neck. As my face was being waxed, I appreciated that the employee asked I was doing okay several times. After the waxing was finished, the employee asked if l she could also thread my face since she noticed some ingrown hairs while she was waxing my face and I replied that was okay. Following the waxing and threading, the employee asked did I want aloe or rose water on my face to help cool it down after the waxing as well as moisturize my skin. When paying for my waxing, I accidentally selected threading instead (which is a cheaper service,) but the employee was quickly able to correct my mistake the texted receipt since their receipt partner wasn't working at the time. I feel that their pricing isn't clear since you can only see prices for services when you check in at the shop. To me, by their prices for their waxing and threading available online, this could possibly lead to an increase in customer visits. Overall, my threading experience went very well and I absolutely plan to make this my new primary place to visit for my threading or waxing needs.

If you want to get creative with your nails you need to make an appointment AND BE SPECIFIC with what you want done. Not all of the nail technicians can do designs or special acrylics. This place is great and affordable! Tony is awesome! read more

When the nail woman came over, I asked for a thin, gel-only acrylic set (no powder) which I do at my regular salon based on their suggestion to give my nails a break and bc they look more natural. After a 15-minute wait with no word from anyone, a second tech came over and made me re-explain everything from scratch, visibly irritated the whole time. Then she asked what shape and I said btwn coffin and square. Annoyed again she asked if I had a pic so I Googled nail shapes and showed her a pic of coffin and square and said btwn that please. She argued that my current nails were coffin. I said, OK, bc I was getting tired of explaining and feeling like I had to defend the shape I wanted. She seemed fine with that eventually & started my nails, but then said there was no one there who knew how to do gel with no powder & no one ever asks for that & it was a "special order." Then she walked off. A woman from the front came over to me and loudly, in front of other customers, said that no one could figure out what I wanted bc I wasn't happy with any nail shape. I was totally confused and embarrassed bc her voice was raised. By then my nails were filed with one acrylic tip glued on, but I was so uncomfortable with people staring at us over her raised voice, I said I would just go somewhere else. I'm visiting my mon again and we drove a little further to BB's Nails instead bc I will never go back to Lilah's. I can't say enough good things about BB Nails. They were gentle, patient, and kind, and they had no problem with a thin acrylic set and a coffin/square shape. And another woman in there mentioned her last place making her cry, and found out it was Lilah's! She said they were awful to her too. No idea why they are so unfriendly there, as if we all don't work hard for our $ & not only want to enjoy a nail day, but we also may have reasonable requests, and that should be OK.
