I've been inline skating since 1992 and for the first time ever in December of 2020, I started to buy parts and skates online. Normally (if applicable) I support my local shops, even when I lived in Spain this was the case, but I will be honest, buying online has changed my views on a LOT of things. First off- it takes a LOT of faith and trust to give a business, especially a small business, hundreds or thousands of dollars of your hard-earned money and hope that they hold up their end of the deal and don't scam you, or screw up your order. Back in December I didn't know who to really trust, so I bought a little from everyone. Inline Warehouse, Inline Skates, Peter Glenn, Pro Skaters Place and even several overseas stores like Clic N Roll, Xtremeinn, Bladeville and This is Soul. I was surprised at how many great options there were and more so by how much bigger a selection I could get by looking outside my local shop. By searching more and more I eventually found Thuro Shop in early January. It made sense that since they were geographically the closest to me, that it would be quicker getting things and maybe they could possibly become my "virtual" local shop. They did seem to have quite a few negative reviews from other customers, but I try to give everyone a chance and took a "see what happens attitude" with them. My first two orders were shipped and arrived in an appropriate amount of time. I was disappointed that instead of actually packing the skates in packing boxes (like 100% of the other companies I've bought from have) they opted to simply tape up the Rollerblade box and put a label on it. This obviously not only ruined the boxes themselves, but since they didn't put signature requirements on the orders, when delivery dropped it off in front of my condo- the whole world was aware that brand new Rollerblades were sitting on my porch. (3) pairs of skates totaling around $750.00. Not safe. Never the less at least the products were shipped and arrived. I placed a third order, this time for parts because I needed a set of wheels, a frame and I ordered a custom color kit - about $210 worth of product. For no reason what so ever, the shop dragged their feet on getting it out to me. Even when I called and wrote emails, I was told there was a 2-3 day processing time and that it was being shipped to me- only to find out that it wouldn't even be dropped off to the shipper until the evening of the 5th day. I received my order after 10 days and they sent me (1) set of wheels instead of (2). I called and when I finally got through they apologized and said they would send me the missing set. I never received any follow up because he shipped it the cheapest USPS flat-rate method possible and this took 6 days to get to me. I opened the bag to find that he had sent me a different set of wheels. Not just graphics and hubs, but completely different profiled wheels (1st set- bullet 2nd set- round) and when I finally got through to the shop again he suggested I use the 2 different types. WTH?!?! Two different sets of 3 X 110 with different profiles? I shipped back both sets for a refund. You would think a small business would try to take care of a customer who's spent almost a thousand dollars in a month, but not this place. This is BY FAR the worst online skate option for me and I can now see the other negative reviews are well warranted. read more

The best Skate-Shop I've ever been to and I've been around the block! They've got everything you want/need and I'd bet they'll bend over backwards to procure w/e rare item you might seek! 10/10 service! I started here for my E-Skate needs and now I'm a returning customer as I start learning how to snowboard. Just scooped so much amazing gear to shred the mountain last night! It doesn't matter if you've never shredded a day in your life! Gabe, or whoever's at the shop, just wants to help! I love the no pressure to buy atmosphere! This shop will never try to up-sell you! Never!. And honestly, that's saying something b/c there's loot to be made by selling expensive high margin equipment but they will not do that. If you don't need or want the crème de la crème, they won't even mention it! :) Keep in mind that local skate shops struggle to stay in business and Thuro still doesn't try squeeze every last dime they can out of their customers!!! Amazing! Think about that the next time you're about to click check out on some random website trying to save a few bucks... I bought a pair of Chaya rollerskates from Thuro last summer for $250. I tried on a few different sizes in the shop and determined the size 40 was the best fit. When I got home and put the skates on, I noticed that the left skate felt weirdly tight, but I was eager to get skating, so I ignored it. After a few weeks of skating, I finally realized they had sent me home with a mismatched pair of skates--the left skate is a 39 and the right is a 40. I emailed the shop right away to let them know. No reply. So I follow up. No reply. I start calling the shop, getting sent to voicemail, leaving messages. No one calls me. Finally I get through to someone, and I explain the situation and ask him if they can get me a left skate in the right size or refund me. He tells me to "just come into the shop." I tell him that I live an hour away, plus I don't want to go inside because, ya know, pandemic. He insists that I come into the shop. I ask if he can just tell me what they can do for me over the phone, reminding him I paid for a pair of matching skates...not two different skates. He puts me on hold for a while and then tells me they can't get me a matching set because I already wore the skates and they don't have any in stock in my size--the only thing they can offer me is a *discount* whenever they get the skates back in (though they have no idea when that will be). I tell him that I don't want to buy another pair because I already paid for the skates, *they* gave me the wrong sizes. Isn't this like customer service 101??? Eventually, because this is going nowhere, I ask him to send me an email so I have it in writing what they're going to do to fix the situation. Surprise, no email. TL;DR This shop sent me home with two different sized roller skates and then straight up refused to fix their mistake. I will never be shopping here again, obviously. read more

I received my items! However, the skates didn't come in the manufacture's box so I found it odd when I couldn't find the skate brake which as a newbie to inline skating I kind of wanted to leverage. I'm used to quads, but the skates that were offered as a replacement to me were fitness skates that protrude significantly more from the front more than the initial ones I picked out. But I didn't know that till I received them. I picked out a Rollerblade Bladerunner Formula 80 Skates Men size 4 (fits a Wide 5.5 foot perfectly) and received a Woman's MACROBLADE 90 W Size 6. The frames were a lot longer and I feel pretty duped for agreeing to that as a replacement. I was so anxious to have my order fulfilled I did agree to the first thing the sales representative on the phone sent me. So shame on me. They did give me a chance to cancel the order, but I still wanted the knee pads and they already had them pulled out in a box ready for shipping. Like why make you put them back? Overall, was really disappointed with the whole experience, I really don't feel like attempting to go through a return process with them, so I'll make do with what I received. I'm sure this place is great for seasoned skaters who know the in and outs of different skate styles. But a person who's new I'd suggest extensive researching prior and don't say yes just because they say it's better quality. read more

On 2018.04.12 I went to this shop to get the buckle replaced on my old TRS lightning rollerblades. The employee warned me that old skates get brittle, and tried to interest me in some new skates. Upon my first skate after he installed the buckle, the cuff ripped apart, with the tear starting where he bolted the buckle to my skates. I initially chalked it up to old brittle skates, as he warned. However, a year later I went to salvage some parts from the old skates, and upon closer examination it is quite clear that his installation used a bolt much bigger than the hole in the plastic it went into. He only got it in by screwing it down with force, and it was quite predictable that the cuff was going to rip, although I don't know if the rip had already started in the store or when I put them on. I see from my credit card records that this "repair" cost me $30.61. Not only am I out the dough, I am out a rollerblade. Thanks, Thuro. read more

Be aware of thieves! DO NOT buy online!!! I have purchased inline skates. They shipped it in the original box without additional packaging. I ignored it even though it is unusual for online stores. The skates fit fine so I didn't need to return it. After that I order helmet which was shipped in some duck-taped cardboard. Not even in a box. That was already confirming their professionalism but I was giving them benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately this item was wrong size and I had to return it, and exchange it for a better fit. I contacted the store by email, and David Holm told me to ship it back. I shipped it by FedEx with tracking number and the return was signed by David H. but the email communication died. I never got reply to my emails nor ever seen my money. Fortunately I found better stores online and I am ordering new Sebas from Seattle. TL;DR I have returned item, shipped with tracking, and never got money or reply from the store. read more

Exactly what I was hoping to experience. Got assistance selecting the right fit for the first pair of skates I've had since high school. Also got help selecting the right helment for both myself and my wife along with recommendations and suggestions for other gear. Despite being a brick and mortar retail shop, they had a signifactly larger selection of skates than online retailers. I got the opportunity to see Thuro's warehouse where they have a massive space with a half pipe and all sorts of ramps for conducting lessons, which I'll definitely be siging up for. I literally never do this. This might be my first time, but I had to give a shout out to the guy who helped me both times I came to the shop. I believe his name is Yvonne, 250 lb sporty guy. I knew nothing about longboards except that I wanted to try it. He took the time to explain everything I needed to know to make the right decision. And he explained it like we were best friends with zero condescension. This past weekend, two weeks after my first visit, he helped me again. I ordered a demo snowboard off the Thuro website a couple months ago. It was on sale for a close out price and the listing said there were two of the boards left and that there were some signs of wear where the bindings had been attached. I also expected there could be a knick or two - no biggie, it was worth saving money for me. The photo used in the listing was a stock photo. However when I received my board, there was an expected scratch or two but shockingly the edges were extremely rusted out, over 50% of the edges were completely orange and pitted. I called the shop immediately and expressed my concerns and disappointment. The guy on the phone basically said, well it was a demo board and it was cheap. I told him that I was shocked a snowboard shop would even send out a board in such condition and why wasn't this noted (at minimum) or photographed in the description. He also said they would be sure to update the listing for the second board but of course, that doesn't help me any. He offered me a $11.99 gift card to their website. I appreciated the gesture, I guess, but getting the board fixed was going to cost me more than that. Also, the shipping for online orders is $10, so really it was 2 bucks. Anyway, I worked on the rust some myself and am pretty sure I can't get it all off without a professional tune up and I am still pretty disappointed. read more

I wanted to learn how to skateboard and e-skate and found that Thuro does group and individual lessons for cheap. I signed up for a private lesson - David the owner was very accommodating and was pretty flexible with the scheduling. The lesson was one hour long, covered safety equipment, how to safely stop, how to turn, how to bail, what to do at higher speeds. At the end I felt like I knew how to keep myself safe and how to enjoy the skateboard. I signed up for two more lessons to get even more comfortable (they have a three-lesson package, highly recommended). The shop has a large selection of skateboards and e-skateboards too.
