Yummy and reasonably priced tapas. The drinks were so cute as they came in pouches and are similar to an adult capri-sun. They are also strong, but refreshing. We ordered 5 dishes and it was enough for 2 of us. Even though portions are small, it's actually pretty filling. The truffle mac and cheese was heavy but had a good amount of cheese to macaroni ratio. The truffle flavor was there but not super overpowering. My favorite dish of the night. Edamame dumplings were different as it had a cheesy flavor and the edamame itself wasn't noticeable. The sauce surrounding it was savory. Also a must get. Wish it was more than 4 pieces. Lucky noodle was super chewy and reminds me of a Chinese noodle soup with ground beef. It has a hint of cumin flavor even though not sure if that ingredient is in it. The steak was super chewy and flavorful but is not a must get. Popcorn chicken was the weakest because it was a bit too dense. Overall, this place was only $100 in total with drinks and in NYC, it's a steal!
got so lucky w getting a table here within 5 mins but it is such a fun lively vibe and the Korean fusion food was done well!! i also really enjoyed it being tapas style designed to try multiple items. the edamame dumplings were my favorite!!! texture and flavor wise it was absolutely perfectly crafted. i would go here just for these. the truffle mac was also super creamy and indulgent- definitely filling and heavy fast tho so great for sharing. music they played was fire- it do be loud tho so expect yelling involved to talk to who you're with. not tons of vegetarian options - i just had 1.5 portions of edamame dumplings and split the truffle mac which was filling i will say
WOW THIS MEAL WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Me and my friends ordered virtually the whole menu for food, and I got a matcha IPA. The servers were good vibes and I loved the cozy ambiance of the place. All of the food was fantastic. So flavorful and perfect. My favorite bites were the potatoes, the noodles, and the steak courses. I will undoubtedly be back here to indulge myself in this greatness once again VERY soon. You must come here, and if you won't, I'll be very mad at you for being so foolish.
Wow--I cannot wait to come back. The staff were so incredible and friendly! The drinks we ordered were obviously very aesthetic, but were even more delicious. Every plate that came was more delicious than the last. It is very cozy so I'd recommend for dates or small groups! It seemed like it would be difficult to have a large group there. Cannot recommend enough!
Came here on a Thursday night with no reservation around 8:30pm. There was a small gathering of people waiting outside but overall, we waited less than 20 minutes. For 2 people, we shared - Tuna tartare tacos. Small but mighty. Good flavor and fish. - Soft Shell Crab Katsu. Crispy. Not too much batter in the batter-to-crab ratio. - Steak. Very very good and flavorful. That side salad/lettuce was delicious as well. - Truffle Mac & Cheese. OF course, very very very good and creamy. Good drinks (the light inside is so cool!) in a style my partner called "adult capri suns." I didn't know what to order but I asked for what the women at the table next to us had. Lots of fruit flavors. Dark, moody, romantic lighting. Lots of college students--clientele seemed to skew younger. Good service. Dishes came out one at a time.
Had a good experience at Thursday Kitchen recently! They have a modestly sized menu and encourage family-style sharing plates. The food was quite unique with solid flavors. We tried the edamame dumpling, kimchi paella, gnocchi, and steak (which was plenty for 2 people). My favorite was the paella. I found the gnocchi a little watery but the flavors were great. The spot is walk-in only, with a cool speakeasy-esque vibe. While we didn't partake, the Capri Sun cocktail spoof was an innovative, insta-worthy menu feature. This is a great option for a casual dinner when you don't have a reservation!
Group of 6 dined in. Service was great. We ordered one of everything to share (two of a couple of the smaller dishes). Standout dishes: the steak, lucky noodle, edamame dumpling, plantain and popcorn chicken. Cozy and intimate space but try to get a table away from the door as it got a bit chilly.
The ambiance was pretty much a Korean pub, selling anju (small eats) and drinks. The inside is pretty dark and cramped but it was very lively. The plates came out pretty small but my group and I had an ok time. Truffle Mac and cheese: 6/10 it was slightly more watery than other Mac n cheeses I've had but the truffle flavor was strong Kimchi paella: 4/10 not too flavorful, so we used it as filler food Steak: 9/10 probably the greatest thing we had this whole meal. It was slightly sweet and the mash potatoes paired well with it. Ordered another two servings since it was pretty small though, one person could finish two of these
I think the vibe is nice it's not super noisy so we can chat and still hear each other. Staff were very friendly. They don't seat you until the whole party is there which is fine. They have a small menu so options are limited. We ordered the strawberry drink, truffle Mac and cheese, kimchi paella, and Korean fried chicken. Out of everything I really enjoyed the Mac and cheese it was sooooo creamy and sooooo cheesey. I can eat that every day. But that was it. I thought the strawberry drink was too sweet. Paella is lacking in flavor and the chicken was too dry and hard, unfortunately. But if you go 100000% get the Mac and cheese
This place for me is hard to rate. I like the food yet it does not really make me feel like I should recommend this place to my close friends. The kimchi paella was too wet, and the umami flavor is lacking. However the shrimp was cooked very well and seasoned really well. Kimchi has a lot of water and I think they didn't recognize the water of the kimchi so the seasoning was diluted and it couldn't get a good char like normally paellas do. The edamame dumplings were surprising better than I thought but the use of truffle oil, Parmesan and lemon together kinda brought the pungentness too much. The truffle Mac was really good, I really like the char it gave it more flavor. It was also too soupy tho. I wish it was just a bit less soupy. My favorite was the steak tho. The flavor on the steak was insane. The kayle was really good but just a tad bit salty for me. The grits though was probably the best grits I've ever had. Even if it's not authentic for some people but I really liked it, the cheese was the right amount to give the umami instead of pungentness. I just really wish the steak could get a better sear and it will literally be some of the best steak I have. Overall the vibe of the place was really nice but the music is just a little bit too loud. I was constantly shouting like I was in a club or a rave, which if that's the vibe you like then go for it. Overall decent and if you wanna try something new in the area, it is definitely not bad.
Excellent and friendly service. Cute ambiance and concept. This is the perfect date spot, the quality for the price is fair in my opinion. The flavors and execution of the food is impeccable. The asparagus is so delicious, I could drink the sauce it's served with. The steak was perfectly cooked and again the sauce was finger licking good. I will definitely back, this is now my favorite spot on the LES and I'm very curious about the dessert menu.
Didn't take enough pictures here because we were too busy enjoying the food! Our group of 8 ordered 10 of the small dishes which ended up being a good mix for us. We loved trying all the fun combinations - the truffle mac n cheese (very strong truffle!) and soft shell crab were highlights for us!
Delicious food - edamame dumplings are my favorite !!! The steak is delicious as well. Drinks are always tasty and fun. Highly recommend !

Been there couple times in 2016, I think their tapas were just okay.. They surprised me on my last visit!!!! So sad they don't take reservation.. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because of the extremely long wait time because there's no reservation system- but the food is amazing! There are so many reviews for this restaurant and the hype is understandable. We came at 7pm on a Friday, where the wait was 2.5 hours for 4 people. Luckily, our friends lived nearby so we killed the time at their place. When finally seated, every dish that was brought on was astonishing. The only thing is I wish the portions were bigger! At first look, the pricing looks quite decent but the dishes, since it's tapas style, are quite small especially when shared. I'd recommend coming here with a small party. The standout was the truffle Mac and cheese and eel taco personally. Just the perfect amount of truffle drizzled on the creamy Mac and cheese leaves you wanting so much more! The eel taco is quite unique, and the guac adds a light twist to what might be a heavy bite. Be prepared to wait if you come, but also be prepared to have an unforgettable meal. read more

Awesome Korean place! The first thing that caught my eye was the soju cocktails in the bags. Really unique idea, and the drinks themselves are tasty and fruity! A bit expensive for what it is, but cocktails anywhere are always expensive. We ordered 3 dishes to share between the two of us. We got the truffle mac & cheese, Korean chicken, and kimchi paella. My favorite is hands down the mac & cheese. The truffle flavor is very present which I loved! I wish we even ordered two portions of it. The paella was pretty good but the chicken dish really didn't stand out to me. Another thing that would be a con is that each dish is pretty small. They're tapas sized, and I really wish they were bigger in order to really fill me up. read more

I have to make it to this place every time I'm in NYC and I recommend it to everyone I know will be there/ lives there. The food is just so good! The tapas are actually generous and all delicious. Their cocktails are delicious as well, although I'm not too happy about the single-use plastic. Some of the outstanding dishes I've tried: 1. The edamame dumplings: can't describe how delicious these are 2. The Mac and cheese. Blown away 3. The asparagus. Get them 4. The paella. Wowowow 5. The popcorn chicken. So so good 6. Best food ever! Experience = Disney vibes first let's start off with the lucky noodle.... Talk about texture and flavor!!! What a treat. The gnocchi was life changing to say the very least.... Gonna need that recipe. And DONT get me started on the edamame dumplings... TO DIE FOR. The popcorn chicken was charming and lovely. And last not least... the craft cocktails .... Truly a gem of a restaurant with Korean tapas and capri-sun soju cocktail pouches! Eating here is a fun treat. Dishes here are small plates with a Korean spin. DRINKS: super cute and fun soju based drinks that are served in a plastic capri-sun like bag that glows in the dark. Alcoholic adult juice pouches. All of the flavors are fruity and pretty good, not to mention strong! One is enough to get me feeling ~funny~ lol. I like the Strawberry Yuzu :-) FOOD: small plates with fusion dishes like gnocchi with gochujang, kimchi paella, etc. but the MUST try and best dish here is their EDAMAME DUMPLINGS!!! Insanely good. Creamy edamame filling that melts in your mouth. This is my favorite thing here and one of their most infamous menu offerings for good reason. We also tried their gnocchi and peach salad and they were just good, nothing too special. Although I adored their edamame dumplings and think their drinks are fun, I have to give 4/5 instead of 5 stars because of how pricey everything is for the size, as well as the fact that they do not accommodate modification requests for food intolerances / allergies / dietary sensitivity. Most of the dishes here have cheese or cream and they will not take out ingredients or prepare them differently if you ask. It's worth noting that these really are small plates, in the sense that the portions are tiny. Dishes are meant to be shared but it would probably take a good handful of items in order to get full if you are with a bigger group of people. Each dish is around $15 so it really adds up. I would recommend going elsewhere if you want an actual filling dinner and do not want to pay a lot of money on small dishes. Otherwise, this would be a good spot to come for drinks and snacks. Really busy place and gets so crowded at night, so make sure to come earlier to get on the waitlist if you can or be prepared to wait. Tip: Check out their sister restaurant MOKYO, which I prefer due to the enhanced variety of dishes and their makgeolli (rice wine) monitor that Thursday Kitchen doesn't serve! read more
Thursday Kitchen was delicious even on a Friday night. Small and intimate setting. The staff was friendly and funny. Everything we ordered was drool emoji good! The edamame dumpling had a surprisingly unique taste. I really wanted to try the kimchi paella, but they were out. Guess I'll just have to come back again. read more
Came to Thursday Kitchen this evening for my birthday since this is my favorite restaurant. Yet another great meal here. This time we tried the soupy and spicy Korean chili pepper gnocchi. My boyfriend got the kimchi paella which he said was really good. I always get the lucky noodle and the Korean popcorn chicken. We also enjoyed the lettuce jem salad. Really you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu at this place. The drinks and service were also excellent as always. Can't wait to be back again al summer read more

This place honestly taste like a westernized chinese takeout. I don't see where the Korean touch is other then use some kimchi in the paella. Food is average, long wait time. I will not recommend this place unless you have never had asian food before, or fusion Korean tapas. So from the start they do not take reservations. We waited 90min. I saw they had such good reviews I was expecting a place to blow my mind but in the end it was just some very average Americanized asian food. We ordered: Cauliflower- overly peppered, salty, garlic flavor stir fry. Soft shell crab- just dipped into batter and served with sauce. Popcorn chicken- this one shocked me because it taste just like general tso chicken. Steak- to salty, with to much thickened soy sauce. Wasted the steak. Pork- overly peppered, cummins, onion stir fry Kimchi paella- Not dry enough, so it came out very wet and not much kimchi. Very bland. The cocktails was a nice touch with the Capri packaging. Pricing- for tapas that's not very good it's on the pricy side. read more
TLDR: Decent food in a group friendly space, clearly tailored to students. A more polished palette should stay away or at least let the students know how overpriced the items are. With Mokyo being or one of our favorite affordable restaurants in the city, we expected Thursday Kitchen, run by the same chef, to be excellent. This place was more of a bar than a restaurant as evidenced by the chaotic atmosphere and lackluster food. The tables are squeezed in together so tightly that there is constant noise overlapping your conversation. Also, besides the general meh quality of the food, the prices were not agreeable--especially for the duck confit, popcorn chicken, and asparagus. More specifically: Edamame dumplings: 8/10 Satisfying in a creamy, cheesy kind of way but a little bit one-dimensional in flavor. Korean Popcorn Chicken: 5/10 I'm not sure how you could mess this up, no sauce or flavor? Hit up a fast food place in K town and they'll be more solid than these Soft shell crab: 3/10. Cool presentation with the deep fried crab still held in shape, but basically a funnel cake with very little crab in it? Asparagus: 6/10 the sauce was nothing special, but it was a little bit better than vinegar and oil on your grandma's version Duck Confit: 4/10. The thick, deep fried crust overpowered the duck completely. An extremely subpar experience overall; I'm still confused as to how students flock here by the dozens with such stiff prices. read more

Finally tried out Thursday Kitchen and got the classic caprisun pouches - both the Ms.Cutetini and Lychee peach rich were yummy. Nothing mind blowing though We got the truffle Mac and cheese, wings, and kimchi paella. Wings and paella were mediocre, I enjoyed the truffle Mac and cheese. This is a tapa-styled restaurant so it's perfect for those who like to try new things. We ordered the adult caprisuns to start and they made us really nostalgic. For food, we ordered the truffle Mac and cheese, kimchi paella, and Korean popcorn chicken. We throughly enjoyed all three items and felt pretty satisfied after. This NYC gem was just a magical birthday celebration evening. NYC opened indoor dining back up to 25% and as I write this, it is now at 35%. We cannot lose these places...this is what makes New York, New York. I hope that we can all get through this pandemic and keep these gems alive. As I was saying... You will not be disappointed at all! Every dish created by CHEF PROPRIETOR KAY HYUN & team was MAGICAL! The flavors, the combination, the textures. Beautiful tapas sized plates were shared amongst my group. It is an art and every bite should take you on a rollercoaster ride. Very solid, The dumplings are the beat I've had of that kind. The truffle is strong and tasty. The mac and cheese is quite heavy but its solid. It is very unique tho I have to warn you it's not your refular bowl of mac n cheese. The thing I didnt like was the shrimp paella. Although the shrimp itself was very well cooked, the rice was not crispy and caramelized like a good paella. It was very watery. The beef noodles ( I forgot the name) are just spectacular, my favorite. The dish is creamy and beef is cooked to perfection. Full of interesting flavors but not overwhelming. read more

Best fusion restaurant in EV! The portions are small but you can try most of the menu and share which is great. Everything is amazing and flavorful (especially paired with the soju drink) and it feels like you're taste testing. Their bread pudding dessert is 10/10 would go again for that. Service is amazing too but you have to order all the food at once and there's a 90min table limit. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place! This was my second time at Thursday Kitchen and the food, once again, did not disappoint. The edamame dumplings are hands down my favorite dish there, I wish they gave more! The soju pouches are also very fun, innovative, and taste great! The place is always busy, and they don't take reservations, but we got a table in no time around 6:00 on a Saturday afternoon. Great service, and loved the ambiance. I came here for a friends birthday; there were 7 of us so we got to try almost the entire menu since its tapas size dishes meant for sharing. It was a good thing we came early because it's hard to seat big groups since the restaurant is pretty small. I would recommend coming about 30 mins before opening to get seated the first round since they don't take reservations. We came 20 mins before opening and was able to get seated but most people after us had to wait and there was a really long line once it was 15 mins before opening. The food is Asian Fusion - my favorite dishes are the truffle Mac and cheese, edamame dumplings and eel tacos. Truffle Mac and cheese smelled so good and cheese was super Ooey gooey. SO DELICIOUS! Edamame dumplings were smooth and creamy; surprisingly good! Eel tacos was an interesting and tasty combination; also came with a generous portion of guacamole. Overall, all the food dishes were amazing! I highly recommend. In terms of service, 5 STARS! Servers constantly came to check in us and made sure our water was filled and empty plates taken. They even came over with a tide pen when I got some sauce on my white sweater! It all happened in a matter of seconds - so attentive! I really appreciate it. Did my extensive research on yelp and have always wanted to try this place out because of the good reviews. Glad to say it didn't disappoint! Got seated super quickly. Went around 7. I was surprised because I've heard the wait is usually super long. Me and my friend got the edamame dumplings, lucky noodle, truffle mac and cheese, and kimchi paella. Also got one of the LED capri suns in the flavor: Pure Strawberry. Everything was super unique and tasty! Edamame dumplings: loved the truffle oil on top and the lemon on the bottom; both these components complimented the dumpling super well. The dumpling itself didn't have any bits of edamame in it, it was more like a cheesy edamame paste. Really nothing I've ever tried and really yummy as well! Lucky noodle: This was my favorite tapa of the night. I love spicy food and can handle it really well. This was just the right amount of spice for me. (my friend who can't handle spice that well could also handle the spice) This dish was super flavorful, kinda wanted to order another bowl haha. Truffle mac and cheese: Wow I must say, I don't really like mac and cheese and I hardly ever eat it, but this was sooo good. It was super unique, very truffle heavy, yet I wasn't mad at it. Must try! Kimchi Paella: This was alright in my opinion. I personally don't really like fish or most seafood, and this dish was super fish forward, even when just eating the rice. There's only two shrimps and 4 mussels in total. Wish there was more shrimp in it :/ Pure Strawberry Capri Sun: Really strong LOL. I wished it was more yuzu forward, which is why I chose it, but you mainly only taste the strawberry and soju. Still pretty good. read more

I'll start with saying their outdoor seating is a true accomplishment in the era of Covid and outdoor dining especially in this biting December weather. The menu options were mostly between inspired and creative. Despite the lag of more traditional dishes this Asian fusion please completely nailed it in terms of execution. Their edamame dumplings were almost as good as buddakan (almost but not quiet). The clear star of the show was the black truffle mac & cheese. The soft shell crab with the wasabi REmoulade was extremely well executed. I also love the broccoli Rob with the Korean chili oil but had a tough time picking between this and the brussels sprouts which were dragon flamed and I will hence be back for soon. The angry sweet potato came with a delicious and generous side of sririacha cheese which I almost wanted to save for the future. I was seduced by the plantain because of its unique pairing with Lebanese condiments such as Lebneh. I will also be back for the eel tacos next time since my stomach surprisingly could not fit another thing by the time dinner was done. The final crowning Jewel on top of the adorable Decour in the comfortably warm seating was the desert which was conveniently not too sweet or heavy. Omg!! What a great meal from start to finish. I have been dying to try Thursday kitchen for the longest time. We came on a Sunday evening and were able to be seated immediately (IMO the best spot for outdoor dining). We decided to share as many dishes as we could and left feeling full and satisfied. We ordered: Edamame dumplings 8/10 - overall flavor was delicious but texture a little mushy for my taste Steak 7/10 - steak was a little tough but the flavors were excellent Truffle mac and cheese 10/10 *MUST ORDER* - everything you could ever want. That cheese pull though Kimchi paella 9/10 *MUST ORDER* - amazing mix of flavors and perfectly cooked seafood Gnocchi 6/10 - gnocchi had amazing texture but the sauce was a little too sweet Definitely recommend checking Thursday Kitchen out for small but filling bites! I visited this place with a friend and I thought the restaurant was pretty good. I felt a lot of the dishes were good but nothing really great, there weren't any "Oh my God dishes." And I don't know if this is just me overthinking it, but I felt like I would I have enjoyed the restaurant more if I was in my mid to late 20's. The restaurant is on the small side so get there early, also the spacing between the tables is pretty tight so it is on the intimate/no personal space side. Being a Korean tapas restaurant, small, but highly priced plates were expected. Since last night was my girlfriend's and my first time dining at Thursday Kitchen, we were informed that plates tend go be on the smaller side, it's better to order most or all at the same time, things come out on based on the order of which orders are received, and they recommend ordering 2-3 dishes per person. The Soft Shell Crab was crispy, the Tuna Tartare Taco had a nice kick, the Truffle Mac & Cheese was cheesy, the Korean Popcorn Chicken was sweet, and the Steak was slightly sweet and cooked perfectly. The food was great, don't get me wrong. I've given Thursday Kitchen 2 stars on this review due to the rest of our experience. We arrived at around 9:45 PM and ordered our food before 10:00 PM. Based on the Yelp page, we thought that Thursday Kitchen closes at 11:00 PM on Wednesdays. We began to sense that there was a discrepancy between our knowledge and reality when our server told us that the kitchen was doing their last call around 10:00 PM and 10:15 PM. Most diners in the restaurant were already clearing out, too. Staff - kitchen and servers alike - were beginning to wonder and become antsy in the dining area. Those that weren't doing this were cleaning and seemingly closing up shop. I get that! I used to work at a restaurant. I wanted to get home at the same time as everyone else, too. It made me think, are they closing? After a quick search, I had mistakenly gone by Yelp's business hours and not by the one on Google. At the time of this review, Thursday Kitchen's Yelp page says that it is open on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM. However, Google says that Thursday's business hours were only until 10:30 on Wednesdays. Had we had known the correct business hours, we would have just steered clear, because we knew we wouldn't have had the time. Needless to say, this needs to be fixed! This discrepancy was the single reason why my girlfriend and I felt rushed to leave. Around 10:15, we asked for the check and a to-go-box, and we were out of there at more or less 10:30. A few more things to note, as staff were cleaning up and preparing to go home, one of the kitchen staff that came out to the dining area stared my girlfriend down in an intimidating manner. This DID NOT contribute to a good experience, even though we were near closing. Not cool. The spacing between tables is also too close. I felt like I was more apart of the conversations at the tables next to me than I was at my own table. read more

This place is phenomenal. The wait staff were super friendly and explained the portion sizes to us since it was our first time We ordered drinks and food, and I loved all of the things I didn't think I would. Walking into Thursday Kitchen, you're met with a very lively ambiance. It is a pretty loud but fun environment with dim lighting. Even for a Tuesday, it was surprisingly crowded, and we had to wait about fifteen minutes before being seated. Although it seemed like a busy night, the service was great and very attentive to our needs. I can with two other people and we ordered five dishes for the table. This restaurant serves tapas-style Korean-fusion food, so it is definitely a place to go if you like sharing. We ordered the Edamame Dumplings, Gnocchi, Korean Popcorn Chicken, Asparagus, and Tuna Crudo. Everything we got was delicious, but to me, the real stand out dishes were the asparagus and Korean popcorn chicken. The one dish I think I would probably not recommend is the Tuna Crudo. Nothing was bad about it, I just think there are better things on the menu that are more interest and more worth your money. The one con about the restaurant was I felt that the portion sizes were small for the price. While the prices were not extremely outrageous, it was more expensive than I expected, and I didn't leave completely stuffed. I wasn't upset with the prices that I paid as I did genuinely enjoy the dishes we ordered, but I did feel like it was worth noting. SO GOOD but I've honestly never seen portion sizes this small in my life. Everything was ~$15-$18 per plate, but I could fit all three tuna tataki tacos in the palm of my hand. Same goes for the soft shell crab and kimchi paella. The kimchi paella was one of the best dishes I've had in NYC - the seafood flavor was strong, but not overpowering, and the kimchi cut the creaminess quite nicely. Definitely a must get if you come here (along with the lychee drinks). We were seated in the outdoor area and the vibe was really interesting. This place was really good! I would like to come back to try the other dishes. steak - 10/10 best steak i've ever had. The grits and crispy kale make for perfect pairings. soft shell crab - 8/10 the wasabi sauce was a great pairing tuna tartare tacos - 9/10 perfectly crispy shell, fresh tuna meat paired with a fresh sauce and limes lucky noodles - 6/10 the least favorite dish for me although the texture of the noodle was really interesting. This is my official date night spot. Highly recommended soju cocktails or as I like to call them, Kindergarten Cocktails, are amazing! I had the strawberry and lemon one and they were both yummy. Pure Strawberry has muddled Strawberries so it doesn't taste fake, it's a sweeter drink. The Lemonie taste lemony and tart- I preferred it but I love tart drinks best. They are very busy so I'd suggest not getting there hungry, we went there on a Wednesday around 6:30pm and it was a 35 minute wait at least but we sat at the bar immediately. The bartender, Moon, did an awesome job! Our waitress was so happy and suggested we get 4 plates because they're tiny and she was right! I loved every dish, get the eel tacos, truffle Mac and cheese, duck empanadas, soft shell crab and bread pudding. You won't regret it! We waited about 40 minutes to get a table at around 7:30pm. There definitely is a wait so get here earlier when you can. Service was super bubbly and welcoming! They didn't rush my friend and I. Fantastic food! Our group of four thoroughly enjoyed our New Year's eve dinner - first time here - gorging on Thursday Kitchen's delectable small plates. Making the most of an eclectic menu, we got ourselves a wide set of dishes, each of which nearly disappeared soon after making an appearance. While the photo-friendly soju cocktail, truffle Mac and cheese, and steak stood out as clear favorites, the food and service overall, were excellent. I've been wanting to try this place, but every time I go here the wait is crazy long! Finally, on a cold Sunday evening I arrived here with zero wait time . I'd still recommend going a little bit ahead of time if you're a bigger group, they have outdoor dining but their indoor space isn't too big. They also do not take reservations. I came here with a friend and we were both so excited to try the food here and we were also starving. We ordered the Eel Tacos, Kimchi Paella, Lucky Noodle, and Truffle Mac & Cheese. We thought we over-ordered, since we were two people eating four plates but when the food arrived we gawked at the plate sizes. I should've known how small the portions would be given it's a TAPAS place . So just be prepared to pay $13+ for small portioned dishes. We started to think that we UNDER ordered, but found that the dishes were pretty comforting and filling so it was actually the perfect amount! Eel Taco: interesting concept with a tiny taco shell and guac on the side, but I didn't really get how it pairs together. The combination is unique, but not mind blowing or mouthwatering. It only came with 3 pieces. Truffle Mac & Cheese: you can NEVER go wrong with truffle! Loved it. It had broccoli in it too, but I feel like it was missing something. Maybe adding in actual mushrooms would've added more texture. Lucky Noodle: I was expecting long flat noodles, but the noodles were cut up like little chip sizes and they were chewy. It reminded me of rice cakes! So yummm. And it was pretty spicy! Kimchi Paella: imo the paella was very fishy. The mussels had a strong taste that stuck with the rice and the kimchi taste was more on the sour side?? I liked it but didn't love it. Overall a nice experience! Okay their fried soft shell crab is a must I loved it, perfect crunch and seasoning. Duck confit empanadas were really good as well. Kimchi fried rice was a missed though, the fried shrimps were really good, just did not go well with the kimchi fried rice, all the taste were off, try at your own risk. I just love coming to New York, because you have all of these hidden gems all over the city. Thursday Kitchen has an awesome vibe and quirky food combinations that are delicious and fun! My friends and I came here during Labor Day weekend, and we had an amazing night. It was packed and full of energy, and that made me that much more excited to have an awesome dinner. My friends and I started off with the Capri Sun style cocktails. They came in clear Capri Sun-shaped packages with light up fake ice cubes. They were definitely a throwback to elementary school and very "Instagrammable". The drink was delicious too! My group and I also shared an assortment of dishes, my favorites being the tuna tataki and the truffle Mac and cheese. The tuna dish had so much flavor packed into the small pieces of tuna! And the truffle mac & cheese was so creamy yet so light as well! All of the dishes were great, and we ate every last bite. The plates are smallish so you share 4-5 between 2 people. Everything we tried was great especially the truffle Mac & cheese which had the perfect amount of truffle flavor, not too overpowering. Walked in late on a Thursday night without any reservations. This place doesn't have a phone number and has IG as a website, runs pretty lean. Soju cocktail tasted well balanced and came in a plastic pouch with a neon light. This was the novelty for the night. Our group shared a bunch of dishes cause it's tapas style. Fried chicken - heavily sauced and not very crispy but still good. More like an orange chicken texture. Kimchi paella - decent amount of seafood, rice is a bit mushy. Soft shell crab - favorite of the night. Lightly fried, what is there not to like. Truffle Mac and cheese - overly rich. No more than a few bites. Didn't like how they were trying to rush us out of the restaurant when it was close to closing. We still had 30 mins left to relax so that left a sour taste in my mouth. read more
