STILL SUPER CREATIVE, SUPER FRESH THO!!! octopus and shrimp tostada - lilly i get what you mean when you said the sauce is a little ketchupy i think it tasted a bit like old bay (i like old bay). overall, the flavors were light and well-balanced, with notes of spice, cucumber, lime, and avocado. the octopus was super well cooked and quite flavorful, but i thought the shrimp was a tad overcooked? avocado crema was to die for. my second favorite bite of the evening; but iv also realized that i just don't like large octopus all that much (like why does it taste like chicken of the sea???) steak tartare - JAIL this was so unbelievably nasty to me i had to force myself to finish it. it might just be my taste buds so i will generously exclude this from my overall score but it tasted liked licking a slaughterhouse floor after a particularly violent cow butchering. very metallic, like blood. the texture was also super thick and super buttery, which if not for the flavor would be phenomenal, but as it was, it only further icked me out. the crazy thing is, they use all the same ingredients as the steak tartare i had in quebec, but that one tasted so much better. scallop and chorizo - FULLY REDEEMED THE MEAL. omg this scallop was so soft, tender, buttery, and perfectly seared i forgot all about my steak tartare horror. the chorizo wasn't overpowering, but added just the right amount of salt, fat, and funk to the scallop to really bring out its sweetness. again, it came with the avocado crema (i love it! but can't they come up with some other, equally delicious cremas?) mezcal piña - good strong mezcal with the most delectable toasty fireside notes. the pineapple was super faint though so i would've appreciated a more concentrated fruit flavor (especially since they're charging schmuck/dcp prices). tbh it was a good experience but i don't think i'll be back, especially considering the price and the wait time (45min since we went in the rain but 2hrs when the rain stopped and we were getting seated). The starter was the scallop ceviche and the literal star of the night with the sauce and bits of shallots. The drinks (especially watermelon margarita) were delicious. Fried oysters were a bit more breading than necessary. The seared scallop was good but a bit under seasoned for seared. Overall, definitely worth a try and a return. Came with a friend on a Tuesday around opening (a little before 5pm), and got in no problem. It did fill up fast though since there are only ~15 seats in the entire place, so would recommend getting there early. Food itself is fantastic and so fresh! Here's a quick rundown of what we split: -Aquachile Negro (Maine live scallop): super fresh and sweet! Sauce compliments the flavor of the scallop beautifully. Also I'm a huge raw scallop fan so this was a huge win for me. -Mar y Tierra: huge seared scallop on a delicious hash of potatoes and chorizo. The scallop was so juicy and delicious. Probably my favorite bite of the night. -Tostada de Pulpo: octopus was perfect and these tostadas were really tasty and very saucy but still crisp. -Enmoladas: basically chicken mole, which was delish. Mole sauce is incredible. Definitely a heavier dish. -bonus Coco Mojo cocktail (tropical and refreshing!) they have a hugeeee cocktail list so there's something for everyone. The wait was only about 1.5 hours on a Friday night which is fine because there are plenty of the spots in the area you can just grab a drink before. Just know when you're in there, you will be cramped. All the seating is basically bar counter, whether you're at the bar or on the table against the wall. I was initially a bit apprehensive of having to line-up for a chance to dine in their (notably small) establishment as they don't take reservations but was pleasantly surprised that we only had to be ~15-20 minutes early to be the second party in line. We were promptly seated at the bar (highly recommend coming early if you'd like to be facing the bar/kitchen vs the wall/window) and given a quick rundown of the ~5 special items they had on hand. Our waitress recommended ordering 3-4 items per person which we would agree with unless you are getting primarily larger items such as the salad or lobster. All of the items were delicious but the stand-outs to me were the tartare (which was rich, flavorful and filling) as well as the razor clams. Both felt reasonably priced compared to some of the other menu items and were beautifully presented. My partner and I noticed that many of their dishes used a pleasant portion of this (avocado?) sauce which you'll notice once you order. Quique Crudo is the hottest kid on the block. Literally. Strolling down this stretch of Bedford St on a Friday evening, I saw staff from neighboring, nearly empty restaurants staring forlornly and longingly at the never-ending crowd in front of Quique. It was....awkward. And Quique knows just how to style itself. They take no reservations--you have to walk in, sign up and pray to Dios that you'll get contacted before your stomach eats itself in the next two hours. Is the food worth the wait? Some of it is. Our Tostada de Pulpo y Camaron was our best dish, full of fresh seafood pieces, a cocktail sauce that for once wasn't too sweet or tart, and perfectly prepared accompaniments. The Ceviche de Pescado was a well-done classic that felt like a bite of summer. The beautiful Aguachile Verde de Navajas was Instagrammable loveliness, but the clams were too chewy for my liking and the marinade was lackluster. The special of Soft Shell Crab had a great smokey sauce, but the portions were a bit small for the price. Our biggest disappointment was the much-touted Mar y Tierra: not enough scallop and too much cashew filler instead of hash potato and chipotle. Expect Manhattan prices as well. Though the menu is mostly small plates for sharing, most dishes are $25+. Sigh. I probably could've forgiven my quibbles with the food if we hadn't been packed like sardines. Quique Crudo is the classic NYC conundrum of too many people packed into too small a space (and probably too high rent). We had the last two seats at the bar next to the restroom, and no more than 5 minutes went by without me being jostled by one of the staff entering and exiting the kitchen (despite trying to sit as far from the corner as possible). It was a good thing it was a warm night because there would have been no walking room if people were still waring their winter coats. In a nutshell: The restaurant ambience is a fire hazard waiting to happen. I'm guessing most people forgive the claustrophobia because they love the food, but since it was hit or miss for me, I just couldn't. Won't be back unless they move to a bigger space. read more

The seafood are very fresh and the sauce is the best, I can just eat the sauce by itself The whole lobster is a bit pricy but definitely my favorite of them all. I will go back to Quique every time I'm in the city. This was the most delicious meal I've had in a while, and the whole menu aligned with foods I love. We got here 10 mins before they opened and were seated at the bar. This is where you want to be as it'll feel cramped otherwise. Service was efficient and professional. Once we ordered all our food, we were fed consistently. All the tostadas and ceviches were excellent. I didn't love the mar y tierra, but I get why others would. Short review/recommendations- Enmoladas, Ceviche De Langosta (Atún if available,) Steak Tartare. To a lesser extent- Aguachile Verde De Navajas, Mar Y Tierra. All were tasty though. A sister restaurant to Casa Enrique, Quique Crudo is an excellent little spot specializing in Mexican seafood or more particular, a raw bar though there are some excellent meat and cooked seafood options. They get quite crowded and don't have much room at all even by NYC standards but if you're looking for fancier well flavored composed Mexican seafood, I can't think of a better place right now. To drink, I had a cocktail/cóctel from their extensive menu which was the Noche Buena Mezcal with Mala Santa Mezcal Espadin, fresh orange juice, fresh lime juice, and brown simple syrup which was $18. The drink also came with a tajin rim on the outside and it was very tasty with it having a nice sour-sweet mix from the juices with a subtle nice smokiness from the mezcal. They recommend people order two to three dishes a person so 7-8 for our party of three but we made due with what we ordered with me adding an extra dish as one of the specials sounded excellent. The first thing that arrived was the Aguachile Verde De Navajas for $25 with Cape Cod razor clams, cucumber, lime, red onion, cilantro, chile serrano, and avocado. As per all seafood, the raw razor clams were very high quality with some citrusy notes and as per the word, aguachile, the dish had a kick to it but it didn't overpower the rest of the ingredients. This was tasty and I would recommend two people to share this or three if each wants to have one piece. Soon arriving was Ceviche De Langosta which was market price/$MP (I believe around $50) with Maine whole lobster, coconut, ginger, salsa macha, cilantro, cucumber, and red onion with it also coming with some totopos/fried nixtamal chips. The lobster had a nice supple bite to it due to it being partially cooked from the ceviche juice with the light coconut flavor adding to the natural sweetness of said lobster. The slight spice and smokiness from the salsa macha made the dish helping to reduce the sweetness and balance everything out. Even with the price point, I would recommend it heavily. The last raw seafood dish ordered was a special of the day which was the Tuna Ceviche (or rather Ceviche de Atún) for $25 or so with said raw tuna, guava, yuzu, lemongrass, pistachio, and serrano. I'm using not usually the hugest fan of guava as I find it to be a bit too sweet but with the other citrusy flavor, it worked nicely with the yuzu and lemongrass adding a touch of sourness for balance. The large pieces of tuna melted in my mouth and the bit of crunch from the pistachio worked nicely. This was excellent as well. We also got two orders of the Tostada Steak Tartare for $22 with peanuts, capers, chives, cornichons, parsley, shallots, grain mustard, and salsa macha. The steak was roughly cut within the tartare adding a nice texture with there being some crunch, some sourness, and a little smoky bite from the salsa macha. It was tasty overall. There was also the popular Mar Y Tierra for $28 with seared scallops, homemade chorizo, hash potato, cashews, chipotle aioli, and salsa verde. The plump scallops were nicely seared though I found the chorizo less spiced than usual. Surprisingly, the potatoes paired nicely with the scallops and the mix with the meat was a fun spin on chorizo y papas. This was not my favorite but it had good contrasts. The last main dish was the Enmoladas for $24 with chicken, black beans, mole, crema, queso fresco, onion, and avocado. The mole is apparently Mole de Piaxtla which is the same Puebla style mole used at Casa Enrique and is made with dry peppers, almonds, raisins, plantains, sesame seeds, chocolate, and other ingredients. The mole was of excellent quality with a good subtle bitterness along with some sweetness and savoriness with the shredded chicken being tender. This was excellent and a worthy main for those who don't want seafood. We didn't bother with dessert though the Pastel de Tres Leches sounded good. The price point might be high but as said by a local place by me, fresh fish isn't cheap and cheap fish isn't fresh. Overall excellent quality with equally excellent drinks. I would definitely go back even with the cramped space as the quality of the food was that good. read more

I loved my dinner at Crudo. I arrived about 15 minutes before they opened and got one of the few non-reserved seats. The place is small and gets packed. I started at the back facing the wall, but they moved me to the main bar near the window, which made all the difference from an experience perspective, as I was solo. I had the ensalada cesarin - their version of a Caesar, and while it meant trying one less fish dish, it was worth it. Great portion, delicious and refreshing. Second course was ceviche de pescado. Run here! Would be shocked if they didn't get a star this year. The food, service and cocktails are phenomenal. It's an intimate space that's walk-in only. We put our names in around 6pm and were sat at 8pm. Sitting at the counter is awesome, you get to watch the chefs work with such precision and focus. We got to chat with the chefs, bartenders and other staff, really making your evening here a memorable experience. The staff does not rush you out either, we were here for 3.5 hours! Now for the food, I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with anything. The scallops, steak tartar, fried oysters, and lobster were out of the world. Try everything! Overall I'd highly recommend for a date or catching up with a friend. Given it's very small and they don't take reservations, I would not recommend for groups. read more

Incredible! The best high-end Mexican food I've ever had. Loved the octopus and shrimp tostadas and lobster ceviche. The lobster ceviche is a whole lobster! It's taken out of the shell so it's very easy to eat and delicious. Also, incredible homemade ice creams! I was going to get all 4 but decided to start with 2, which was a good idea because they are big! I may go back another night just for dessert. The ice creams were amazing - thick, creamy, and incredible flavor. They also have a tres leches cake I want to try next time. read more

I dined here a long time ago....I'm always on the look out for exceptional food and service and I thought I found it since it was rated so highly.. Sadly, I did not enjoy my meal as well as others. It was one of the worst meals I ever had. I didn't want to be the first person to give it a bad rating so I didn't complete my review for a long time. We got there around 7pm, no wait. We got the last two seats... we should've waited to sit at the counter. The place is tiny, not much room to maneuver. That alone, I can't recommend it to others if they wanted a comfy environment. Counter space and some seats when you enter and some seats against the wall. We normally would never consider places like this but again it was so highly rated.. The bathroom is also...so tiny, it's like a larger port-a-potty. The water from the faucet splashed onto the floor. They even kept the soap high above since there wasn't any space! We sat at the only available 2 seats. Right next to the bathroom. Fantastic. Anyway.. to start. Water... the options are..sparkling or still, so L chose sparkling. I don't drink tap. We received a bottle of Topo Chico $8 which fyi has really high lvls of PFAs. I had a few sips. The waitress was really nice and explained that everything is small portions and that we should order 5 dishes to share but we actually spent almost $200 on HH nearby so we weren't really hungry; we wanted to try a few items since we were just literally around the corner. We ordered Ceviche de Langosta ($59) and Mar y Tierra ($28). Prices at the time... I tried a mezcal Negroni and I ordered a coco mojo for L cuz he doesn't drink much. The Negroni actually tasted pretty good at first but it sobered me up instantly. I didn't finish it. After a while it just tasted weird and why drink it if I can't get drunk from it. I really wasn't a fan of the food. Mar y Tierra is one of the most popular dishes, the waitress recommended it and you can see everyone posts pics as well. The scallop, seared perfectly, that is delicious on its own. Once paired with the sauce and the pointless nuts, that's where they lost me. I had one bite and I was good, I literally did not want more.. Mind you, it's just four small bites of food for almost $30... Ceviche de Langosta...another popular dish..I was completely disappointed with the flavors. I seriously could not tell what I was eating. The lobster wasn't sweet or buttery. I didn't want more than two bites. I didn't like the sauce. $59. Yes it's a tiny lobster. I don't even care about the price, I just wanted some really good seafood. If it was even $59 for the best bite I ever had in my life I wouldn't even complain but I could honestly say it was close to the one of the worst lobster dish I've ever had. It was a bit under seasoned as well and I'm on a low sodium diet, but the lobster was just so bland and the sauce really didn't go well with it. I think I enjoyed the fried tortilla chip the most out of everything I tried. Not that I'm saying the chip was great.. It was pretty hard, but still better than the rest of the food. Maybe they had an off night but I heard some people really enjoyed their food but they sat on the counter so they had a better visual experience. Interacted with the chef, staff. Based on just taste alone, we didn't enjoy our meal. Taste is subjective, but we are "foodies". We have eaten a lot of different foods from all cultures... from hole in the walls to 3 star Michelin restaurants.... Few hundred for this meal, plus $200 for the meal we had 2 hrs before. My review based solely on the food. I literally review restaurants for people not for money or followers. I hated the food here. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.. The service was 5 stars. I was really really impressed by this spot. Made by the same guy who created Casa Enrique, Queque Crudo serves some of the freshest and yummiest seafood in the city. The restaurant is really small, with maybe twentyish seats available. It's also walk-in only, and on a weekend night the wait was about 15 minutes, not bad but perhaps we got a little lucky as we were originally quoted a 30-45 minute wait. The seats are pretty much exclusively bar seating, which will probably be a turn off for some (though I recommend you look past that). The menu focuses on Mexican seafood dishes, think ceviches, tostadas, and aguachile. The restaurant also has a rotating menu of specials. From the specials, we ordered the razor clams ceviche, which was chopped, marinated, and served on the shell. It was delicious. Actually, everything was delicious. I absolutely loved the shrimp aguachile and the oysters were some of the freshest I had. Also, the margarita I had here was awesome. I cannot stress how good this place is. The execution of everything is on point. If you like seafood, please come here before the line gets too long. read more
