    Ambience with my boy Brian

Came all the way from White Center just for this. I got the yellow chicken curry. Tastes amazing and the service is amazing. Thuy is a wonderful cook and great person. My friend got the pho and the broth was so rich and delicious.

My friends and I spent memorial day on Bainsbrige island and decided to try Thuy for casual lunch. When you first walk in to order, the place looks really small. If you walk further in, you will find indoor seating and quaint outdoor backyard seating. I think it's particularly charming when places have outdoor backyards like this. Once you order, you sit down and they bring the food to you. It comes out pretty quickly. Their prices are fair for the area. It seems like everyone felt like the food was good but not great. The lemongrass tofu lacked a lot of flavor. I had to put a lot of sriracha and hoisin sauce to make it taste like something. I would probably not come back unless to try their drinks.

Dim sum on weekends! We saw pork buns on the menu and couldn't help passing it by. Indoor and outdoor seating. Tight quarters inside shared bench with Chairs on opposite side of table. The fried pork dumplings I think were the best I've ever had. A really delicate balanced flavor and maybe handmade wrapper something made it pop. We saw shiu mai and other traditional dim sum dishes come out. If they taste as immaculate as they looked they won't disappoint. Oolong boba was delicious too. Had a side pho broth for the chill outside. I would go back and eat a noodle dish for sure. Friendly staff.

This quaint little spot is hidden but their food was amazing! Their service was 10/10 the crew was very kind and gave us our drinks while we waited to be seated. The pho with tendon and rare steak was to die for! I will be going back when I'm out in Seattle again! Oh and they had dim sum on the weekend !

Fantastic Vietnamese food! I'm surprised this place only has 3.9 stars because, in my opinion, it's a 5-star spot. The chicken pho was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the tofu spring rolls were just perfect--light, fresh, and delicious. The ingredients tasted high-quality, and everything was well-prepared. I wish I had taken better photos (before we started eating). Highly recommend giving this place a try!

    Large beef combo pho

When you walk up to the menu outside it looks like it could be a fancy pho restaurant but when you step inside the order window is straight ahead with two tables on the side and a set of stairs going upstairs which I'm not sure where that goes. The layout is a little funky but it works! I'm not sure where the other tables were but it looked like there may be more space in the back. We were greeted by, I assume the owner or manager. She was nice. We ordered two large beef combo pho's and one child pho. The broth was good but a bit too oily for my preference. The beef, meatball, tendon and tripe were good and as expected. The portion was hearty as well. We found the price to be quite steep since for two adults and one child = $58. But I understand it could just be location and the city it's located in. The bathroom was clean and as expected. The service was as expected.

    Pork ban mhi

Great food. Fast service. Great prices. Friendly service. Clean restaurant. This place exceeded my expectations. The pork Ban Mhi was on $12.50, came out in 5 minutes, and with fresh vegetables that tasted great. They have a convenient sauce trey with all you need for your pho or noodles or any Vietnamese dish. Will return.

    Veggie Pho

This is a nice little restaurant in Bainbridge island. We were really craving pho and stumbled onto this restaurant. We ordered a small veggie Pho and it was honestly large enough for two people, and at a low price too! The pho itself tasted excellent. The broth was magical, especially with the chili oil and squeeze of lime. The service was also excellent - everyone was super nice and helpful. My only regret is that I didn't get another bowl to go.

    Taro milk tea
    Brenda L.

Found this place hiding away in an alley while exploring Bainbridge Island, and decided to get a drink. We ordered the taro milk tea with boba, and it came out quickly. We were quite surprised that it was really more of an icee/slushie than a milk tea, which may be ok under normal circumstances, but it was really cold and rainy that day and we didn't quite enjoy it. Maybe if you're having a bowl of piping hot pho, the slushie would be perfectly complementary? Anyhow would not recommend the milk tea unless what you really want is a slushie.

The veggie and tofu pho and tofu banh mi were EXCELLENT. The broth on the veggie pho was so flavorful and it was full of vegetables and plenty of tofu. The banh mi bread was perfect, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the pickled veggies were just right. Highly recommend!

Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and well executed in this fusion restaurant. The spicy truffle wontons with grilled shrimp were a standout! They were super aromatic with the truffle flavor coming through, and the shrimp added a nice extra layer of texture and richness. The wontons were not quite spicy, however. We also tried thier chili prawn noodles, which had egg noodles and was just as good. The tempura shrimp was also crunchy and added to the great mix of textures. We also had the rockfish, which was in a nice creamy sauce and cooked nicely, complementing the rest of the meal well.

Truffle chili wontons - skin was too thick for my preference and not a lot of filling. They were like mini wontons. The sauce was interesting though, the combination of truffle and chili oil was something that I had enjoyed. I wish I saved the sauce for some other dishes Chili oil noodle with prawn - noodles needed more sauce!! They were a bit dry and I could not really taste the chili oil. Needs more flavor for sure Duck leg confit - this dish tasted so Vietnamese to me? The sauce they put on the duck was reminiscent of something my mom would make. I enjoyed this dish the most. I really liked the way that the sauce from the duck mixed with the rice. Vietnamese coffee creme brulee - coffee flavor was so strong I did not know that the menu changes, so there were some items I saw people get months ago that I was excited to get but they did not have. HI LIFE is an exception, and will be a go-to going forward. The Poke sho-ka-do box is a great option for open minded first-timers. It's a huge amount of food, easily satisfying two and giving you a nice sense of the variety of fish and marinades on offer. Note that it's a fixed set, so you'll likely end up with some marinades/fish you prefer over others. The mayo-base poke wasn't my jam, but that's personal preference. One note, it'd be nice if the box included rice. it's available for $3 extra, which feels trivial. As for dining environs, it's located in a refurbished service station. There's limited indoor seating by the service counter, but most tables are under the overhang where gas pumps would have once been. I'd go at a slightly off-time if possible to ensure you get a seat!
