All are welcome in this lovely little treehouse of a restaurant. Seriously though, this is a great spot for people-watching during the summer months. After you order food, they will begin making the magic happen. You can then take in the sights and sounds of Bainbridge since you're sitting on one of the busier corners of the island (total guess, I've only been here twice but it seems accurate). You'll see people from all over the world with a tiny backpack with just enough supplies for a day trip. Emmy's seemed like they had a good amount of meat-free options, so we decided to indulge for our only meal during our trip. Little did we know that EVERYTHING ON THE MENU was vegan! This made the experience super fun because I was trying dishes that I've been eating since I was a kid, but veganised. I've never seen a restaurant try to make a meatless sesame chicken, but they nailed it here. The sauce was really what makes the dish taste just like the original. The chicken isn't exactly chicken-y, but it has a nice texture and tastes wonderful. I'm not entirely sure of the name of the next dish we ordered, but it was some sort of kebab-vermicelli-bowl-situation that sounded too interesting NOT to try, and I was right! There are egg rolls layered throughout this thing that are DEEPLY fried and almost have a mashed potato consistency inside. They seem very untraditional, but I looooved the addition to this bowl. The kebab was a surprising twist on a vermicelli bowl, I almost had a hard time believing that this wasn't meat! This was an outstanding order, but definitely needs to have sauce applied liberally to be consumed at its highest power. I love what Emmy's Vege House is doing in taking a multitude of cuisines, fusing them together, and then making them vegan. The food here is amazing, it's my favorite Vegan place so far!! I'm usually skeptical of plant based meats but I was pleasantly surprised with my Kabob Vermicelli salad. We got a vermicelli salad (5/5) & teriyaki strips (4/5). The vermicelli salad came with the perfect portions of every veggies, a side bottle of sauce so I could add as much as I'd like and was topped with two egg rolls. The teriyaki strips were good but not as great as the kabob vermicelli. Came with a good amount of veggies & rice. Service was amazing, the lady did a great job of reminding us the menu is all Vegan. The food also came out pretty quickly, which is perfect because we were very hungry after getting off the ferry. read more

Emmy's Veggie house is a darling little window with a wall menu displaying a dizzying array of dishes that LOOK meaty but are not. The gal taking the order and cooking the food (Emmy?) was very friendly. The outdoor seating area is very cute, though a bit chilly for November. The food was very pretty meh, but not awful. The curry soup was made with too much thickener so the mouth feel was oddly gelatinous. It lacked subtle flavors, overall not very good, but not horrible. I was glad I sharing it as a whole bowl might have been inedible. The sweet sour "chicken" was pretty good. The sauce was your run of the mill sweet sour sauce...I am guessing not homemade. It had fresh broccoli. The "chicken" was kind of novel for a long-long-long time vegetarian like myself. No idea if it tastes like real chicken. Cannot remember the third dish, probably equally okay but not great. Prices pretty good. Anyhow, if you are passing through and it is a nice night, it would be a fine choice. This food is so delicious. There was a beautiful contrast between the fresh crunchy vegetables and the chewy vegan meat and the broccoli that still has some snap. There are so many flavors and they're all good. I love finding a tasty vegan restaurant and this one exceeds expectations. The prices were very reasonable. Yum! Cute little place with delicious food. My friend and I had the pot stickers, stir fry noodles, and the curry noodles. All were good! And really liked that the noodles dishes came with crispy rolls and kabobs so we had a really nice variety of textures. The potstickers filling felt a little bit too wet, but that happens sometimes with veg fillings so not a big deal and still good. The space is cute, but outdoor seating only! We had nice weather when we went so that was lucky and a cozy experience. Service was kind and helpful, a little busy so the food was a bit of wait, but that's preferable as it was cooked fresh and came out steaming hot. Portions are big so plenty of leftovers. We came here for lunch on a Sunday day trip to Bainbridge Island. This place only had outdoor seating, but luckily we were able to pick a table that stayed cool in the shade. Emmy's had a variety of vegan noodles or rice dishes or salads to choose from, and the owner was super nice and patient in explaining the different ingredients that went into each dish. I'm not a huge fan of rice nor vegan meat, so the owner recommended me to get the ginger tofu with extra vegetables instead of rice. It turned out to be the perfect meal that I needed at that moment - the ginger sauce went well with the lightly sauteed broccoli and cabbage, and the tofu was slightly crispy and delicious. read more

My family and I dined here on New Years Eve. We appreciated the outdoor seating and its location near the heart of Bainbridge main street. The menu is extensive and ALL vegan! Many of the dishes are made with vital wheat gluten which is the main ingredient in seitan. The food took about an hour to cook since there were so many people ordering. We took advantage of that time to walk around some of the shops nearby. Once our food was ready, we enjoyed everything we were served. They served us some tasty dishes and the texture of the "meat" was spot on! Seating is strictly outdoors so plan accordingly. Also, plan to wait as it is a small kitchen with only one or two cooks at any given time. read more

This was the perfect place for lunch on a day trip from Seattle. We were an omnivore, vegetarian, and vegan, and all happy with the dishes we ordered. Filling, fresh, and friendly service. The outdoor seating right next to cool shops, has a great view of the busy intersection but wasn't too noisy. I'll definitely be eating there again when I get back to Bainbridge. read more

This place is fantastic!! My only regret was forgetting to take pictures before digging in! We had a group of 7 people including small children. Everyone loved their food and we definitely shared with each other to try as many dishes as possible., They definitely except card payments now as well as cash. They were super friendly and the place was really clean! I live over 7 hours away and would be willing to make the drive back here for this place. The Thai iced tea was wonderful as well. We ordered the noodles, sesame chicken, and teriyaki chicken, I don't remember what everyone else ordered. But it was all worth the drive and parking lol The area is truly a busy area. What a great find just a short walk from the ferry in downtown Bainbridge. Seating is strictly outside, which is under cover from the rain but lacking heaters, so you may have to bundle up. They have a great menu with so many creative vegetarian options. Portions are generous too. read more

Nice vegan find on Bainbridge island. It's an outdoor stand with some seating for guests. Fully vegan, and offers great tasting menu and affordable. It's a husband and wife team, from central Vietnam and always had a smile on their faces while greeting guests and taking orders. We got the #5 chicken kabob (texture and taste were right on, could be confused with real chicken), #16 tofu noddle, and #35 beef pickled veggie and rice (rice dishes usually served with brown rice but I asked for white rice instead since I like my white jasmine rice). They happily switched out for me. We overheard some guests asking are you sure it's vegan? The cook keeps having to response "no meat! No egg! No milk!". It was quite funny people were confused how realistically close the foods tasted. read more

A literal hole in the wall at the end of Bainbridge's main tourist street, Winslow Way, this place may be the least well-known highlight of the island's culinary offerings. I was first introduced to them by a vegetarian friend who swore by their kebab and orange noodles combo - at $9 it's probably one of the cheapest plates of food on the island, and while it's a little greasy, I was pretty impressed, especially with their kebab. Their imitation meats are pretty solid. They may not fool anyone into thinking they're the real thing, but they have a satisfying texture, solid savory flavor and are cooked nicely. The kebab has a nice little bit of char on it. Tried the duck on a whim after seeing someone else comment on it in a review and it was as crispy as some real Peking duck I've had, and honestly more satisfying. Their spring roll tastes super fresh, very filling, with a simple sesame/soy sauce that goes great with it, maybe the best spring roll I've ever had. Their "golden rolls" not quite as memorable, kind of an interesting starchy filling (yam?? plantain??) together with carrot and what seems to be their house seasoning. Still, it's nice to have as a crispy side to contrast their noodle plates. Altogether I just think this place is really cool. It can be a little tricky to order but I've never been disappointed, the people behind the business seem to be pretty nice. It just feels like they really care about making good vegetarian food and I have a lot of respect for that - I haven't been to another place that feels quite like it, not that I've been looking. If you're vegan (or otherwise) looking for lunch at a reasonable price in the area I'd highly recommend giving it a try. You may not be impressed, depending on your standards for this kind of food, but at $10 a plate, I'm willing to bet you won't regret it. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon, decided to stop by because we walked by and something smelled delicious. Decided to get a kabob and rice noodle dish with the eggrolls. Tasted exactly like home since my dad has made something similar to this! The man at the front was very friendly and when he brought out our food, he asked if we needed anything else. Was very helpful with all our restaurant experience. The place was small and quaint, but we were able to find space to sit down. This restaurant is completely vegan, so you don't have to worry about looking at every single ingredient like most restaurants. I got the thai tea and the vegan sesame chicken and they were both delicious! The thai tea was so refreshing and only $3. The prices are very reasonable and the food was amazing, I would definitely go if you're in the area! I was so happy to see a proper vegan fast food restaurant when we moved to Bainbridge Island earlier this year. I have tried about half the menu and my favorite is the "duck" which is amazing.
