I was going to grab lunch elsewhere but saw Yoyo while at Winslow Green (corner of Madison and Winslow), so thought I'd check it out. I'm glad I did! I came in on the tail of a mini lunch rush. When I placed my order, I was told it'd take 10-15 mins to get my to-go order ready. It didn't. It was much faster! And the owners were so nice and friendly about it too! I ordered the Salmon bowl. Chock full of salmon, rice and other ingredients, all fresh, topped with their spicy sauce, and wasabi on the side. I asked for jalapeños, but I only got two thin slices. Next time I'll as for more. So tasty nonetheless! And filling! The place is not hard to find in the Winslow Green shopping center, right on the end of downtown. Plenty of places to sit both indoor and outdoor. Definitely on my regular spot list in downtown Bainbridge!

# 11 Island Poke Tuna & Salmon

We were visiting Bainbridge Island for the weekend wondering around and found this excellent poke place in a little strip mall in the town center area. I got a Hawaiian bowl with spicy mayo. It was so delicious and fresh tasting. The place was small with patio seating but the staff was very nice and friendly. If you are Bainbridge and craving something fresh and satisfying, definitely check this place out!

This little spot is easy to miss, but so glad we didn't. Husband ordered the #19 and I the #2. SO fresh and crisp veggies, greens. Def try them!

Visited Bainbridge Island on a day trip and stopped by for a snack. Never had a poke burrito before, so decided to give it a try - it's just like a tiny poke bowl wrapped in a big tortilla, very small portion and I wasn't told salmon would be $1 more, so $15.40 wasn't worth the value. It is a touristy island so it's expected, but the tortilla was thick and the poke wasn't flavorful enough. It's a small place with a few seating, more of a grab and go or eat quickly place. The staff were friendly though.

I love this little poke shop! The service was so kind and friendly, there are several seating options (indoor, outdoor), the menu is simple and easy to navigate, and the poke is plentiful and yummy. It's fast, casual, and located near a couple cute shops you can shop around in while you wait for your food.

Got the yoyo bowl and was blown away by how good the scallops were - would definitely recommend if in the area as well as the texture of the rice. Only thing I would say is the drinks are a little pricey ($6) being made out of powder

We were visiting from California and spotted this poke place. It turned out to be an amazing lunch! Fish is super fresh, plate was full of veggies and sauce. They do take a bit to prepare but well worth it. The staff were super friendly and gave suggestions. Place was clean as well and a lot of outdoor tables to eat!

The food was amazing! I don't eat raw salmon and they were able to sear it for me! Good customer service and fresh food.

Fresh fish, good vibes, tough-to-beat value. What's not to like? While Bainbridge is a great…read moreweekend destination, I've always found the food to be a bit underwhelming. HI LIFE is an exception, and will be a go-to going forward. The Poke sho-ka-do box is a great option for open minded first-timers. It's a huge amount of food, easily satisfying two and giving you a nice sense of the variety of fish and marinades on offer. Note that it's a fixed set, so you'll likely end up with some marinades/fish you prefer over others. The mayo-base poke wasn't my jam, but that's personal preference. One note, it'd be nice if the box included rice. it's available for $3 extra, which feels trivial. As for dining environs, it's located in a refurbished service station. There's limited indoor seating by the service counter, but most tables are under the overhang where gas pumps would have once been. I'd go at a slightly off-time if possible to ensure you get a seat! Overall: 4.5/5

The staff were also super kind and helpful. We were originally about to order three boxes, but they actually recommended sticking with two, saying it would be enough and they were completely right. We were stuffed. Each bento box comes with a variety of poke styles (9) you can mix and try, which made the whole experience even better. Every single one we tried was fresh, flavorful, and really well-prepared. I'm from Seattle, but this is absolutely worth the ferry ride to Hi Life. I'll definitely be coming back.

Super nice staff, amazing views of the marina on a beautiful day. We loved the clam chowder (more…read morelike a soup, but perfect) and the salmon banh mi. The chicken Caesar salad used a lot of the center of the head, but was still fine. We had two (one entree, one side) so you can see the size comparison. The only minus is a 5% surcharge for kitchen staff tips. It's management's job to sort that out, and not have an extra fee on the bill. It made for an awkward conversation at the end of an otherwise nice experience.

Not gonna lie but I think the Doc's experience has degraded a bit since I was last here (and a…read moreregular with my parents). Stopped in for a bite of dinner after we were torn between another local pub (near Safeway) or here. We both had such fond memories of Docs and that led us to our choice. Got seated quickly but it took kinda forever to get even water delivered much less a drink order placed. We decided to make our dinner order too because of the drink delay. Hubby was too happy that they had his fav beer - black butte porter -available so her ordered that. My Chardonnay was from WA which is not my fav but it was a choice of $11/glass or $20/glass for an overpriced, under-tasting CA option. Our dinner came almost too quickly. 3 piece fish and chips. First impression: wow, that's hardly any fries. Second impression: wow, how long have these been sitting out. You can always depend on Docs fries to be amazing but not this time. They were limp, soggy and just about inedible. We did let our waiter know and he did reorder us a batch but they came almost at the end of our dinner tho. BUT these were the fries we rave about at Docs... hot, crispy, real potatoes. Yum! Now the fish: the cod itself was perfect. Thick, fresh, hot, moist but I don't know what this 'crusting' is. It's like it's been rolled in seasoned cracker crumbs then fried sure it's crispy but it's like it's encased in edible armor. Not a fan. The batter they used to have was so superior to this. I was disappointed to be honest. Upon paying and leaving hubby says: well, we won't do that again. It's too bad because it was such a regular hangout for us with my folks who just about everyone knew by name. It's also my first time back since they passed (2021) so I really was missing them. Not the same on many levels. Even the crack sauce wasn't 'right.' I've never left any behind in the cup before...I did this time.
