Definitely not the soft, fresh quality I'm used to from this place. On top of that, the service was struggling. There was only one cashier handling everything--taking orders, picking donuts, and ringing people up--while a long line kept building. She kept calling for her coworker, Ivan, to come help, but he never came out. I felt bad for her because she was clearly overwhelmed. It ended up taking about 10 minutes just to get a dozen donuts. This place is usually reliable, which is why this stood out. I'm giving it 3 stars because I think it was just a bad day, but there are definitely things that need to improve. During the morning rush, there should be more than one person up front, and the donuts should always be fresh--especially that early in the day. These donuts were fresh, fluffy, doughy and delicious. I tried the sugar, glazed, boston creme, maple bar, raspberry and strawberry filled donuts. Yes! They are all amazing. The croissant was also fabulous. Light, airy, flaky, buttery layers hid the jalapeno ham cheese filling in the middle. I didn't get too much jalapeno, but idc I loved the croissant anyway. I paid $29 for a dozen donuts and the two gigantic croissants. This place is old school- There were paper i. o.u's taped up beside the cash register...some had written the dates that they paid up for some items, so obviously this establishment has a loyal and trustworthy customer base and community relationship that is hard to find nowadays. I will definitely come back and perhaps pay it forward for some of those i.o.u's!
