Bar at Ticino

Last night at Avon Colorado so we decided to go Italian, and we were not dissatisfied. Walking distance from Club Wyndham, where we are staying, called ahead to get reservation, since restaurant is not that big. Waiter was quick to get water and drinks to the table. Complimentary bread with oil and vinegar was served. Good came out hot and tasted great. I had a 12" pizza and was not disappointed. If you are looking for something different with a nice dinner atmosphere this is the place.

We went on a Saturday night and were able to get a same day reservation for 745pm. Very small restaurant so make sure you call at 4pm to get a spot. Very efficient service. Food was very tasty. Would come back again.

Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken

This little Italian place was amazing! Cute and cozy atmosphere in a small physical space and the food was unbelievable! The homemade pasta was phenomenal! We were there Saturday night and had Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and Pappardelle with Bolognese and chicken Parmesan. It was soooo good! The staff was super friendly and the food was superb! We'll def be coming back every time we're in town!

Rigatoni with La Rosa sauce and a meatball.

Was in town for work, ans we were all ravenous after a long day of travel and an impromptu hike in the El Dorado Canyon State Park. Anyhoo. We were seated relatively quickly and were brought a plate of bread with oil and vinegar dipping sauce. The balsamic vinegar was very tasty. The others liked their meals, but I LOVED mine. Homemade rigatoni with the La Rosa sauce and a meatball. I saw it on someone's plate when we walked in, and it looked amazing. And it was. The pasta was generously coated with the creamy tomato sauce and topped with the meatball. The meatball was very good, but it was dry on the outside. Being the sauce boss I am, I would've liked it to have had at least a thin layer of tomato sauce on it. But again. It was super tasty!

Was in the mood for something outside the Vail Village for dinner and discovered Ticino through Google. Between the reviews and the pictures, I had a good feeling about this place. It's in kind of a weird spot, occupying a retail space in a resort building, but the food and service were fantastic. Free bread: it's warm bread and olive oil. What's not to love? Caesar salad: Split this with my brother. Crunchy lettuce, dressing was a lil zestier than usual, and the croutons had a light crunch. Build-your-own pasta: You get to choose from many house-made pastas, sauces, and additional toppings. I opted for the spaghetti, bolognese, and a meatball. You get a COPIOUS amount of meat sauce with your pasta, enough that you'll run out of pasta before you run out of sauce. The sauce was hearty, hot, and tender. The spaghetti was thin and firm. A perfect comfort dish. Tiramisu: Always save room for dessert. This tiramisu was spongy, packed with fluffy cream, and had a very light coffee flavor, if any. Not overly sweet. Definitely a must-order. The staff were phenomenal. There were only two servers taking care of the whole restaurant, and they made sure everyone was having a good time, be that filling up waters or checking in after they'd received their food. If you want some stellar Italian food, drive on over to Ticino!

Ticino is an amazing place. It's a very intimate Italian restaurant tucked away on the ground floor of the Lodge at Avon Center. It's quite a small restaurant with 12 smaller tables and a handful of seats at the bar. The food we've gotten has always been fantastic and delicious. We've been served promptly and always with a smile. The osso bucco was out of this world. There was plenty of flavor and the marrow was cooked to perfection. The serving was pretty large, but I had to eat it all because it was so good. My wife got the pear salad and that was also great. We'll definitely be coming back here. It's close, comfy and delicious!

Escargot was the best part of the dinner! Pasta and Chianti were excellent. Tuna was delicious-ask for extra sauce. Pizza was 5/5.

Excellent little restaurant in Avon! They are quite small and have limited hours (W-M 5-9). I had been calling since Tuesday to try to get a reservation for Wednesday and finally got through to someone Wed night. Luckily someone had finished quickly so they were able to squeeze us in before the next reservation. Interior is warm and friendly. Service was prompt. Bread service was fresh and warm. We split the rucola salad. I enjoyed it but my dining partner felt the arugula was a little too bitter. The dressing and candied nuts were a good combination. We really enjoyed the entrees. I chose the bison ravioli special and added arrabiata sauce, which was absolutely delicious. My dining partner enjoyed the chicken piccata. Food was served very expeditiously, so we were able to finish in plenty of time for them to clear the table for the next reservation (not that they were rushing us). I will absolutely look forward to dining again at this gem of a restaurant next time we're in town. Hopefully the reservation system is a bit more user-friendly in the future.

The staff was super sweet and friendly. However, an Italian place that serves overcooked pasta? My kids complained. And the pizza was bland.

Best gluten free, diary free pizza I have had! It was actually, like, really good! If you've had…read moregluten free, diary free pizza's before, you know that most taste absolutely awful. To be honest, I didn't even want pizza for dinner, and was bracing myself for your typical gluten free, diary free pizza, but I was in for a treat and really glad I tried it! I ordered the gluten free, diary free, egg free crust, with vegan cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and olives. I also got a side of sauce. I placed my order online. After I placed my order, the website said my pizza would be ready in 22 minutes. I really don't know if I arrived early, late, or right on time, but my pizza was ready when I got there. The man behind the counter was very nice and upbeat. He helped me right away. After I paid and got the pizza in my car, I had to open it and sneak a peak (it smelled amazing).....it looked fantastic, just full of veggies!! I got home and opened the pizza, it was still hot. I had two slices and it was fantastic. I was disappointed that I couldn't eat a third, but am excited for leftover pizza later. The gluten free crust was thin and crispy. I am glad I had the extra sauce to dip it in. I will return the next time I am in Vail. PS. I have no doubt the regular crust, regular cheese pizza's are great here if the gluten free, diary free one was great! Enjoy!
