What a great place! Atmosphere was everything you would want for your neighborhood hangout, relaxed, great view and everyone was upbeat. Oh, and the food.....amazing! The grouper bites flew off the plates for starters, the mahi mahi, grilled, blackened and fried was a hit, the special grouper egg rolls and tomato bisque were delish. Tide Tables has the best fish tacos ever!!!! This is the best thing on the menu and it has mahi mahi, colwslaw, and their ginger sauce was amazing. The service is good and it has a bay side view which is nice. It has a bar inside and a few tables inside and their is a bar outside and more tables outside to get a view. Boy, did we make the right choice to go to Tide Tables tonight, the last night of our vacation. You may have to wait for a table (no reservations taken) but this casual seafood restaurant is worth it! The fresh grilled grouper was just a delight, simply prepared with a perfect char and succulent texture. The fried scallops my husband had were delicious, with a light-as-air batter. Our teen son loved his blackened scallops. The coleslaw and the carrot salad were both fresh, crisp and refreshing. For dessert we had their homemade key lime pie, which was out of this world--nothing prefabricated about it. The graham cracker crust was somehow firm and a bit crumbly at the same time, just like homemade. And the filling! A just-right balance of tangy lime and creamy sweetness. Our go-to place for cold beer and a fish sandwich with a view of the water. Staff is friendly, the beer is cold, and though the menu doesn't rise above good bar food seafood, it's really good bar food seafood. Great views of the back bay to boot; we'll be coming back. read more

The food is ok. Definitely was expecting more based on the raving reviews. We're definitely spoiled because we have places in Tampa and St Pete that are better, similar and a bit cheaper. Not that this is severely over priced seafood, but it was more maybe because it's charging the tourists who dine here. The service was very very slow, which deserved a one star deduction. The other star was for the food being so-so and the bug issues. The sides definitely need to improve. I realize that you go here for the fish but honestly side dishes aren't too difficult to make and offering other kinds would really round out the menu. The baked beans are fine but there should definitely be other options aside from frozen french fries and coleslaw. I ordered the combination platter which came with blackened mahi mahi, 2 shrimp and 2 scallops. My husband had the blackened grouper sandwich. Again it was fine but not spectacular. We also ordered a bowl of gumbo for our son who doesn't like fish. He didn't like the gumbo. It paled in comparison to other gumbo we've had. We sat at a picnic table outside. The table had an ant problem and the busboy kept coming over to kill the ants with some kind of spray. As soon as our food was brought to our bench the flies flocked to it. We kept having to bat the flies away. It's hard to contend with Mother Nature but it definitely impacted our dining experience. read more

We come to Longboat Key annually and this was our first time eating here. We started with the conch fritters and they were the best we had all week. All of us adults had some sort of grouper entree as it is fresh caught. All of us loved it. I had the grouper cheeks special with baked beans and the beans were also amazing. We had the key lime pie and I've not had key lime pie that good in years. In short, if you want fresh fish shack food done properly, eat here, you won't regret it. read more

Best fish tacos hands down I've ever had ever. If you like spicy make sure you get some of their hot sauces to put on your fish. And if you like craft beer they have 4 of Cigar City's signature brews. That Jai Ali and Fish tacos go hand and hand. They've been getting new craft brews lately but nothing very good like Abita and some other not so good brewery's. Only thing I would suggest is they keep getting good stuff like Cigar City. Wonderful little dive (in a good way!) on the water. Simple but excellent food, fast and friendly service, and local character. Beer and wine only, and selections are limited, but they do have craft beers available, which is a bonus. Skip the touristy spots and go here. read more

We really loved this place. It's casual and really captures the spirit of an old school Florida fishing village. The bartender Jessie was absolutely fantastic. Great customer service. If you're not in the mood for French fries, I highly suggest you order the carrot salad as a sides. It's refreshing and delicious! The food is a little pricey but you get what you pay for, so we never mind shelling out the extra bucks. This restaurant was recommended to us by Our fishing guide Captain Dan. He told us to check out the fish tacos. We love fish tacos so this was not a problem for us. So off we went for a late lunch. We were greeted with a friendly smile and welcomed in like old friends. We (my wife and I) ordered the fish tacos while one grandson had a Caesar salad with shrimp add-on and the other a kids burger and fries. The server introduced us to the two sauces and I must say the category 5 is phenomenal! It was a great accent to an already great product. The Caesar salad was huge and my grandson said it was great and the shrimp were as well. I took a bite off the kids burger as that grandson is a light eater and I must say it was fantastic. This place skipped nothing on quality. They also have a good selection of hand crafted and domestic beers. The service is excellent and very efficient. The pricing is of great value for products being served. The fish tacos were so good we came back the next day for another round before flying back home. You can bet this will be our first stop when we come to AMI next year. If you like fish tacos this is the place! read more

Soo sitting outside on the patio overlooking the water is very cool. We waited and ended up having to find our server because we got overlooked. Not a whole lot of seating for smaller parties. They have you share a table. We were a party of 4. Kids meal options are chicken strips or hamburgers. Soo the biggest disappointment is that they refused to honor a request to have the shrimp grilled and the mahi mahi blackened when buying their most expensive combo basket ($28). The excuse was "our kitchen is too small to do that" even though we explained that our daughter didn't like spice. Soo yes atmosphere is cool but they lost me when they are too cool to help a customer. read more

OK! We'll be coming back to Tide Tables! Apparently they opened just a year ago, and seem to be an instant success. And we can see why. Excellent food and great service! Atmosphere is very casual. Indoor seating is at high top tables. Outside is picnic tables along the dock. Service is very attentive at both locations. My husband had the Jambalaya and said it was excellent. I had the grouper tacos, and they were among the best I've had. The sesame ginger sauce on the blackened grouper is a very nice combination. Sides were good. Collards are nicely done. Not overlooked and not bitter. And Strawberry shortcake....homemade shortcakes and the strawberries have just a touch of nutmeg. Yummy end to a great meal. Not sure of their hours. They closed at 8:00 on a Tuesday night, so if you want to enjoy this great food, don't wait too late! Congratulations, Tide Tables on your upcoming 1 year anniversary and your great success. Had a wonderful experience here today! Superb service (didn't catch the server guy's name, but can say he was a younger guy), showed a lot of patience with me while I chose my beer, letting me sample a few draft selection before finally deciding. Started with the peel & eat shrimp, fish tacos for main dish (we had the mahi-mahi blackened) and concluded the meal with the homemade key lime (so goooooood). Hands down, the most fish I have seen on three tacos. Also, I am a hot sauce junkie and was pleasantly surprised to learn they make a few in-house...my fave, Category 5-delish. AWESOME. We actually won a trip to dear Anna Maria Island and found this little gem on this wonderful site. We sat at the outside bar and was served by this great guy by the name of Jesse (his family runs the the place; request him!). He hooked us up with great food, booze and suggestions of where to hit up for a good time.
