This is a new spot in downtown Hampton. Real authentic. Flavors amazing. Lunch margarita less $5. Large size too. The service was a little slow for my liking. They have the most flavorful dishes. Least amount of oil in their fajitas. That may sound like an odd thing to write a review about but it's a huge deal to me. So many Mexican places bring out the fajitas and it is swimming in oil and completely gross. This place is just full of flavor. The prices are what you would expect from somewhere that uses top quality ingredients . It's not Taco Bell folks, it's worth the little bit more that they charge. read more

Showed up at the location with 4 adults and 3 kids at 8 pm. 2 people were sitting at the bar. One group of 3 were inside and there was a table on the patio. We were brought chips and sat there without being acknowledged until we walked out without even being brought menus at 8:20. We have been there a few times and order food to go often. So my husband and I are currently here at Tierra Mia and we are pissed. First of all, this place gives me gentrified Mexican vibes and the food does too. It is Valentine's Day so we expected it to be busier than usual but our waitress was just neglectful. When we first sat down, we waited and waited AND WAITED. I went to the front where the "hostess " was and asked for a new waiter because clearly ours didn't get the memo that they had a table to wait on. Our waitress, an older white women with a dark brown short cut and glasses, came over and apologized and stated that they told her they sat a different table. Whether or not "they" told you the wrong table or not, how could you miss the only black couple in the entire restaurant at your assigned table. So long story short, the service continued to be slow. The waitress continued to be blatantly neglectful because we watched her and counted how many times she checked on all her other tables versus our table. We had to get our check and a to-go box from a different waitress. And The irony is that We've been to this place multiple times prior and the service was GREAT but tonight was a complete turn off read more

I decided to order from this Mexican restaurant as opposed to my normal Mexican place just to try something different. I ordered online as well as paid online. I was told 15 mins but I waited 30- just to be safe. When I arrived, I was ignored for the first 10 mins and when I finally got acknowledged, I told the girl my order, and she responded with my total. I explained that I had already paid and she said she could not see that so I needed my receipt. I went outside to my car to get my phone and pull up the receipt. I go back and of course there is a line because they are strictly to go orders because of covid. I am trying to he patient but at this point it has been nearly an hour. I finally catch someone's attention and ask them to check. She disappears and I don't see her again period. At this point I am getting frustrated but I don't say anything. My face probably says a lot, but my mouth is quiet. I wait, and wait and FINALLY after over an hour and a half, a lady brings out my food. I take it and proceed to the counter to check it, and of course- it's wrong! So I walk back over while the lady is speaking to another customer about their order and I stand waiting behind him- she interrupts him and yells at me"you got something to say?" So I respond " my order is wrong..." and before I could go any further this lady reaches towards me and attempts to snatch the bag of food from my hands! I pulled back and she acted like we were about to tug of war over it. I said" you're not going to snatch something out of my hands!" to which she YELLED at me" you not gonna disrespect me in here- I'll just give you your money back" and proceeded to try to remove it from my hands AGAIN! I pulled back and she responded that she could either remake it or refund it. I told her I needed the manager but as she continued yelling at me in front of about 5-6 different customers I said you know what, I have been waiting almost 2 hours for my food but there is no way I would eat anything you "re-made" so I said screw it walked out. When I got home, not only was mine wrong, it was all so disgusting. The containers were smashed because they put three full orders in one bag and everything looked like slop. My kids quesadillas were literally floating in grease. They were so soggy they couldn't eat it. My husband's enchiladas were awful it looked like someone threw up on his plate. I will never in my life go there again and I will tell everyone I know about how terrible the whole experience was. read more

This restaurant was an unexpected surprise. Food was the best Mexican food I've had south of Atlanta. Restaurant was very clean and wait staff were nice and professional. I had the enchiladas trio and all sauces were delicious. I'm not giving it 5 stars because our chimichanga tortilla was not very crispy and quickly became limp. Last time coming here. I've been twice for to go orders. The first Time was nachos...the chips should be separate because of course when they are on the bottom of the nachos they get soggy. The second experience was tonight and my shrimp alfredo was alfredo with shrimp throwed in the container. The shrimp was extremely overcook,very hard to eat and almost burnt tasting. Wasn't impressed with the service, after asking for silverware several times I finally went to the next table and got ours. Salsa tasted like it came out of a can, sent one of the mixed drinks back (couldn't drink it, some kind of strawberry special that night).
