WOW !!!!! Bakersfield is adding Ice Cream / Gelato / Italian Ice all over the town. Our recent visit to TIFA did not disappoint. We decided to stop by after a killer dinner experience at Valle last night. The place itself is absolutely beautiful inside. This is a franchise business that has many throughout US. We got a missed pack of macaroons for my daughter and we ordered for ourselves the Coconut Gelato and the Chocolate Raspberry Ice Cream. My choice was the chocolate raspberry. I got a single scoop in a small cup. The portion was huge and was literally flowing over the cup. A little messy but absolutely delicious. It had a great flavor of raspberry throughout the ice cream and was loaded with chocolate shavings. Luckily for us they do have wet wipes to clean up the mess. Like one of our favorites that is a lot closer to us, they do offer samples of any and all of their product. They keep a hand full of their staple flavors and according to the server they can change flavors almost weekly. My wife got the Coconut Gelato which had a great flavor throughout her single overflowing scoop. I did taste the Mango Gelato and it was incredible. The service was spot on and super friendly and very knowable on the product they were serving. Luckily for us we have a good reason to drive to the other side of town since we have our only grand-daughter close by. Looking forward to trying more of their creations. read more

This place was recommend to me by one of my colleagues from work and I'm glad I took his recommendation. The place is cute and they have so many flavors. Free samples are giving if you're interested in a flavors you're interested in, just ask. Customer service is great and their selection is awesome. Passion fruit won first place for me. Then it was cantaloupe and third was the mango passion fruit. My friend got Elvis and it was delicious!!! I'm definitely going to go back and try more flavors. The staff was incredibly friendly, the shop was very clean, and the entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. Everything we tried was delicious, with flavors that were rich and flavorful without being overwhelmingly sweet. My family and I enjoyed the Chocolate Strawberry Dubai flavor, Guava with Cheesecake Chunks, Mango Passion Fruit, Cantaloupe, Pineapple, and an Affogato with Vanilla. Awesome gelato spot on the west side of town! I gotta say it's ever so slightly more expensive than typical ice cream, but their stuff is special. I got a strawberry matcha and a strawberry dubai. Very yummy! An awesome family-friendly spot for reasonably priced sweet treats. I stopped by recently with my grandma and we both had a great experience. My favorite is their Cookie Monster gelato. I tend to stick to chocolate and cookie options when it comes to gelato and ice cream, but they have so many flavors. You can try multiple ones before landing on which ones to include in your yummy gelato creation. The folks serving the gelato and sweets are very kind and welcoming. When I heard Bakersfield had a gelato Shoppe, My mouth was watering wanting to try it! The shoppe is cute, festive and cozy inside. Not huge, but enough tables to enjoy your sweet treat. My boyfriend and I split a large cup (4 scoops). I had a scoop of the strawberry sorbetto and a scoop of the lemon sorbetto. They had a soft and dense texture. It's a chill that melts in your mouth and bursts with flavor. The lemon was perfectly tart and the strawberry was fresh and sweet. My boyfriend ordered the vanilla bean flavor as well as the cinnamon almond dulce de leche. The vanilla was amazing, but the cinnamon almond dulce de leche was a little too sweet for me. We ordered a cone (one scoop of cherry chip and one scoop of raspberry chocolate) and a Tifa Fizz (one scoop of lemon sorbet and one scoop of mango sorbet) and both were really good. The cone was fresh and crispy and the fizz was refreshing. We will definitely be back, there's so many good flavors to try and other things to try as well! read more

Brand new gelato spot in bako! The gelato Itself is fluffy, sweet but not too sweet (not that fake Over powering sweet) it's great high quality. The staff were all very friendly and we tried many flavors. Portions are pretty generous and enough seating for about 20 inside. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt seeing as they just opened and I'll be back again and see if things improve but my only few notes: The Space was pretty dirty, floors and tables really sticky and crumbs and drips everywhere. It would also be nice if they had some background music on and if they would have something like a little water station for customers. Mainly if they clean up more after the turn over of customers then it will be 5 stars for me in the future. Chocolate and Gelato! My chubby self made it here as fast as i could. A very magical lady asked if I wanted a sample probably because I was drooling. She kept offering more and more. I settled on the medium which is 3 scoops. Ube, strawberry basalmic and cherry chip. I do not know which was my fav. They have small which is 2 and large which is 4. The ube had crushed cookies that gave a pop of crunch. The cherry chip had flakes of chocolate and the strawberry basalmic had hints of tart. They also have monster cookies, pastry, and muffins - plus individual chocolates. I almost got one of each but I stuck with a few items and my fat chunky happy self will be back. read more

Located off stockdale Hwy there's plenty of parking when you plan to stop by. This places is bright and clean and it smells soooo good walking in. The folks are very friendly and we got to taste a few of their gelatos before settling on our choices. We took a salted Carmel cookie to go and that was great as well. The gelato was creamy and not overly sweet there are a couple of tables inside and another two outside. A great addition to the area. Tifa's Chocolate & Gelato deserves every bit of praise I can give. Over the course of three visits, I've been continually impressed by their variety of gelato flavors and delightful selection of macarons. It took me a while to finally post this (after losing my photos--twice!), but the flavors stuck in my head far longer than any pictures could. The Pistachio, Double Nutella, and Stracciatella took me straight back to Venice and Bologna--authentic, rich, and crafted with care. While Tifa's may have slowed down a bit during the cold season, their gelato alone is worth the trip. And their *hot chocolate*? Pure delight. Their coffee has a full-bodied flavor and aromatic depth that pairs perfectly with their pastries. If you stop by in the evening, like my neices did, treat yourself to both a warm drink and something sweet--you won't regret it. I had a great chat with Rocky (pretty sure he's the owner or proprietor), who mentioned they might start opening earlier during the winter months. Right now, their hours are 10 AM to 9 PM (or 1000-2100 for my fellow military minds). Great location, nice quiet ambiance, friendly staff, and plenty of treats that capture that of an authentic Italian gelato bar. Bakersfield is lucky to have a place as genuine as Tifa's. The flavor and texture were completely off, and definitely not worth the $40 I paid for three small cups and a cone. What really pushed this from disappointing to frustrating was the service. When we walked in, all the chairs were up on the tables, so we assumed they were closing. We figured we'd just get our ice cream and eat outside. But while I was paying, another family walked in -- and suddenly the owner was cheerful, welcoming, and immediately started taking chairs down for them. We've been here twice in about 4 days and I think my favorite is the strawberry balsamic so far, but everything they have is amazing. A new little gelato spot that opened up in West Bakersfield got an alert that we try it out. We went after dinner and it was a very charming place. The representatives were really nice and they treated our son very well with 1 million and one taste just so that he would get the perfect combination for himself. We all had our all individual ice creams but we sure did enjoy all that Rich delicious flavors strawberry Dubai is probably my favorite amongst them. The ice cream is not dense like gelato. It's more like ice milk very light and with small granules of ice in it. Also too sweet for me. We arrived and there was a family in front of us and one employee working. A moment later a man comes in behind us and washes his hands behind the counter and begins to help us. We try two samples and two women come in behind us he greets them and then they proceed to order. So he leaves us standing there to make their order. I opted for the cherry chip, pistachio lemon and lemon pie. All very flavorful. The pistachio lemon had a stronger lemon flavor but a great crunch with the nuts. The cherries were a little tart in the cherry chip. The lemon pie was just perfect. I did get to try the Cafe one and tasted like coffee. I went for gelato I wanted pistachio flavor The owner heard me and told me they don't have it today but they would go in back and make it for me if I'd like. I am not one to make a fuss so I went with lemon sorbet it was delicious I got the smallest size it was $6.98 and came with a small wafer cookie. The customer service here is great! We saw this place on Instagram and we were happy to see it's right around the corner from our house! It's tucked away inside the new shopping center on stockdale across from Flame and Fire. We got a brookie, cookie butter gelato, dark chocolate gelato and an afagato (espresso with a scoop of gelato on top). My husband has a gluten allergy and we didn't realize that they stuck a little waffle cookie into the gelato in the afagato. I felt so bad but I asked if we could just get a new scoop of gelato since the cookie hadn't touched the coffee yet and one of the two men that was helping us insisted on remaking one for him and let me keep the other one!
