She also gave us two packs of Toomey's Seasoning . My son and I each got California's Greatest Burger with fries (I subbed Brussels sprouts), another son got the grilled rack pork chop, and my husband got fish n chips. Al the food was really good! This is our go to place when we come to Mammoth. We're here for a little over a week so we've come twice so far. The first time, we had Erin. She was very friendly and we were thankful she informed us that they were shorthanded so we lowered our expectations on the service. We've come so often that we know what is normal. There were three of us this time and my girlfriend and I want to split a meal. We simply asked if they would cut the ribs and the meatloaf in half. Erin went above and beyond and brought out two complete splits for us. It was very kind. My husband ordered the pork chops and said they were excellent. Everything was really good that night, but we sat outside, near the end where they used to have a yoga studio, but now it's a bar of some sort. The competing music was annoying. My husband and I returned again and everything was back to normal. We did sit closer to the front door, but the music seemed to be just fine. Eric was our server with assistance from Em and Brian. Everybody was so attentive and on top of things. The minute my water glass was half empty, Brian had it filled up. The owner, Matt, even came out to say hello. We told him that we have been following him since he was chef at the gas station My husband and I are older and don't eat as much as we used to. We stopped in for drinks and a bite but the restaurant was empty except for a couple of tables. We just didn't feel a vibe so decided to order a couple of Bloody Mary's and move on. The restaurant is baseball themed with every wall covered with baseball memorabilia. There are several TV's do you can sit in the bar and enjoy whatever game may be playing on TV. They also have a nice patio should the weather permit. Cheyenne was our bartender and server. She was excellent and customized our bloody mary's to our preference. They were delicious. Mery and myself were spending the weekend in Mammoth Lakes Village and the restaurant is within easy walking distance from our room. The restaurant and staff were very friendly inviting. From the moment we arrived the waitress was very professional and very helpful. Service was strange. The hostess told our party of 9 they had some tables to accommodate our party but didn't walk us to the tables. When we were unsure of what she was talking about we went back to her and she again instructed us to find the bigger tables but wouldn't walk us there as a hostess normally would. We figured it out and pushed our tables together. I ordered filet minon the server forgot they were out. Ok fine I'll get the only $80 steak you have in place of that. We got drinks and they came in plastic vending machine bottles. Also strange. The food was surprisingly good so hats off to the cook. Pretty pricey but the area is like that anyways. Got dinner here on a Friday night. Place was pretty quiet so we got a table right away. We ordered some drinks and the grilled salmon and the pistachio crusted sea bass as mains. The sea bass was great, really buttery texture and perfectly cooked. Liked the lemon butter sauce as well. Salmon was topped with a mango salsa which was also good. Both dishes came with broccolini, mashed potatoes and red cabbage. Veggies were good, mashed potatoes could have been a bit creamier. If you're a baseball fan like me this place has an additional treat for you as it's full of memorabilia like signed jerseys and bats. Decided to stop and grab lunch here after a day on the snow and we were so glad we did!! The restaurant was fairly empty upon arrival and it was just the bartender that was also our server. We all ordered our drinks and food (carne asada tacos, burger/fries, and chicken tenders/fries). Everything was fantastic. My son said his chicken tenders were the best he's ever had lol. Our server was really nice and came by often. We didn't know that there were two sides to Toomey's - seems like one is an order at the counter, grab and go side and the other side is the sit-down restaurant/bar area. This was our first time to Toomey's and what a delight! Our waiter Maddy was super kind and attentive took our dinner order promptly with a smile. I ordered the pork chop and my partner ordered the elk chops. The pork chop was cooked perfectly with a beautiful rosemary and mustard crust and a delicious fruit compote. It was the one of the best pork chops I have ever had! My boyfriend's elk chops were also cooked perfectly and super tender. The owner also came out and said hello and made us feel at home. Ordered the baked brie 4/5 great app if you want something sweet/savory. Bison meatloaf 4/5. This was super hearty, really filled me up plus extra to go home. Second time here. First was in 2011, I think the place had just opened. Looked the same today, maybe the same tables too? I got a cup of cream od mushroom soup for $11, and the crab cakes (2 small'ish) over a very large salad for $27. The salad and soup were very good. Our waiter was great and we sat by the window. We had the pork chops with berry glaze, buffalo meat loaf (tender, tasty and grilled like a steak) and salmon. We lost cities and honestly with the baseball decorations almost didn't go in, but because the meals look so good on, we decided to give it a try and we are so glad we did. It was perfect for my friend joji and gobbles, they were seated on each other's laps. I'm so glad dogs are not allowed because my friend gobbles is deathly scared of dogs. A lot of the restaurants in the Mammoth ski village only have decent reviews, oftentimes because they are overpriced or have long waits or only average tasting food. We were staying really close to the village and wanted to do dinner somewhere that was walking distance, so I was looking up all the possible options. What caught my eye with Toomey's is that they are dog-friendly, even inside the restaurant! We were so excited to bring our dog with us for dinner so he could be with us in a warm place and not have to stay at our condo alone. Our server, Kevin, was extremely friendly and personable. He even brought out a water bowl for our dog! The interior has an odd seafoam green paint job on all the walls, looks like it has been that way for forever. It's more of a sports bar vibe on the inside but the menu does not consist of matching pub style food like you'd expect; they actually have some nice dishes that are more characteristic of a formal dinner restaurant. Prices are on the higher side, but that is to be expected in a ski village. Plus you at least get large portions here which is nice. We split a bowl of the clam chowder to start, they even divided it up into two separate cups for us which was really nice. I got the ribs for my meal and my husband got the buffalo meatloaf. The ribs were covered in a blackberry BBQ sauce which was actually really good. I wish it came with a little less sauce and that the ribs were more tender, but overall I was still pleased! My husband usually doesn't care for meatloaf but was intrigued by this one being made with lean buffalo meat. He ended up really liking it! We were both satisfied with our meals, everything was good but we didn't feel like it deserved 5 stars which we usually give to places that exceed our expectations. Last time we came to Mammoth Lakes, we came to Toomey's but we sat in their big dining room. It was fancy, food was great , service superb. It really hit the spot. This time we came to their "cafe". A super nice young lady helped us. She explained the menu and made suggestions. She even brought me a side salad of Caesar without it being on the menu. The dressing was fantastic. My wife got the same salad with tuna added to it. I got to eat her leftover and that salmon was goooooood. Didn't smell fishy and it was cooked perfectly. A young man was the chef. He knew how to cook. I got the fish taco. I got two whole pieces of fish. It was delicious and the portions were BIG. This is good and bad. We skipped skiing on a heavy snow day and decided to check out the village and eventually ended up at Toomeys for a late lunch. It's a baseball themed restaurant with a lot of photos and artifacts on the walls. There is a front section for quick orders or takeouts and the dining room with rather low ceilings and somewhat dark interior in the back. It was deserted while we were there - the weather and time of day being a factor - so not sure what the usual atmosphere might be. Food was quite good if a bit pricy - we had the clam chowder and baby back ribs - the chowder was $15 which was just about the most I'd ever paid for a soup. Servers were friendly and efficient and kept the water glasses filled. It's a fair sized place but there's only one bathroom - could be inconvenient if the place is busy (we were told more are being added however). read more

I've been here quite a few times. The food here is superb (I am a hungry girl above all else.) Pick anything on the menu and you'll be fulfilled; everything I've ordered has been truly delicious. This is a sports-themed establishment- not at all my usual.... But the staff here is so welcoming that this is a safe space for my introverted self, even if I have absolutely no clue what's happening on the tvs.. We were torn between where to go for dinner in the village but decided on Toomey's because it seemed more laid back than some of the other options. I thought it was more of a fast casual place because the kitchen was visible and seemed like a place where you walk up to order. It's dine-in which meant that my initial idea of getting a burger was nixed in favor of trying one of their heartier entrees. I also wanted to try their mushroom-sherry soup as a starter. The soup came in a large ramekin and it was a creamy start to my meal. In between, I got multiple refills on their Arnold Palmer which was mixed just right. I saw they had some game meats and I was torn between the buffalo and the elk. I asked our server Frank what he preferred. He too was torn because both of them were great but he said the buffalo meatloaf was a 'classic,' one of the first items when the restaurant that first started. The meatloaf was great, a lean-which I expected from buffalo but mushroom jus added that extra level of richness and I ate it all up. Frank was spot on and during the meal he was friendly and outgoing.
