Our server, Dan, was incredible. We sat outside as we had a couple of dogs. Upon arrival, Dan immediately brought two water bowls for the pups. The service was impeccable. The vibe is casual and inside is a pretty nice collection of Kansas City Royals baseball memorabilia. You don't have to love KC to enjoy this - if baseball is your thing, you will appreciate this. Dan even gave us the back ground on the owners history with KC. I highly recommend the baked brie as an appetizer - it was crazy amazing! I ordered the meatloaf and trust me, this isn't your ordinary meatloaf. It was recommended by a friend and you cannot go wrong with this choice. 5 stars! My husband had the salmon, and although it was very good, he wished he had gotten the meatloaf, so I graciously gave him half as the portion is huge! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the dessert. Dan had recommended the carrot cake and said the portion was larger than other selections so, when we got home, we were disappointed in both the size and the taste. Although good, both my husband and I were expecting an amazing carrot cake and it tasted just normal. Admittedly, both my husband and I are carrot cake snobs so maybe our standards were a bit too high. But I would try another dessert. Plus, the cake was in a large container so by the time we got home, the frosting was all over the side of the container instead of the cake. If you get dessert to go, ask for a smaller container. Although this must sound picky, after such a delightful dining experience, it just felt like a little let down when we got home. Other than that, the experience was top-notch and I will definitely visit again the next time we are in Mammoth. Thanks for a great experience, Dan! Came to Toomey's for a late lunch/ early dinner after some hiking. Our server Erin was great and took good care of us. Very friendly and quick service. My Aperol spritz was perfect! For the meal we tried the clam chowder, calamari, hummus plate and spring mix salad. I always have to try any restaurants clam chowder, and this one did not disappoint. And it's not comfort food served with irony, like a place that charges $25 for mac 'n' cheese, or $10 for oat meal. One thing- the portions are huge. We stopped in for drinks and a bite but the restaurant was empty except for a couple of tables. We just didn't feel a vibe so decided to order a couple of Bloody Mary's and move on. The restaurant is baseball themed with every wall covered with baseball memorabilia. There are several TV's do you can sit in the bar and enjoy whatever game may be playing on TV. They also have a nice patio should the weather permit. Cheyenne was our bartender and server. She was excellent and customized our bloody mary's to our preference. They were delicious. Excellent meal we enjoyed here! Service was great, our waitress was really friendly and shared with pride about the special blackberry BBQ sauce and how a lot of the menu items are created from scratch! She also gave us two packs of Toomey's Seasoning . My son and I each got California's Greatest Burger with fries (I subbed Brussels sprouts), another son got the grilled rack pork chop, and my husband got fish n chips. Al the food was really good! I loved the Brussels sprouts especially. The burger was juicy and the pork chop disappeared quickly. We will try to come back again sometime during our trip to try more dishes. read more

This is our go to place when we come to Mammoth. We're here for a little over a week so we've come twice so far. The first time, we had Erin. She was very friendly and we were thankful she informed us that they were shorthanded so we lowered our expectations on the service. We've come so often that we know what is normal. There were three of us this time and my girlfriend and I want to split a meal. We simply asked if they would cut the ribs and the meatloaf in half. Erin went above and beyond and brought out two complete splits for us. It was very kind. My husband ordered the pork chops and said they were excellent. Everything was really good that night, but we sat outside, near the end where they used to have a yoga studio, but now it's a bar of some sort. The competing music was annoying. My husband and I returned again and everything was back to normal. We did sit closer to the front door, but the music seemed to be just fine. Eric was our server with assistance from Em and Brian. Everybody was so attentive and on top of things. The minute my water glass was half empty, Brian had it filled up. The owner, Matt, even came out to say hello. We told him that we have been following him since he was chef at the gas station My husband and I are older and don't eat as much as we used to. So this time we split a dinner Caesar and split the ribs. They are so kind to give us separate plates and no split charge. The food and our experience was excellent. Mery and myself were spending the weekend in Mammoth Lakes Village and the restaurant is within easy walking distance from our room. The restaurant and staff were very friendly inviting. From the moment we arrived the waitress was very professional and very helpful. Came for lunch, understaffed and had an unpleasant & unprofessional service experience. The waiter Eric (who is also the manager) said it would only take 10 mins for the jimbalaya. We waited over 25 mins and still no food, so I waived him down and I told him I have a toddler. My toddler was having a meltdown earlier and probably going to have an another meltdown soon due to his nap being delayed. When I told him I have a toddler, he shouted and turned back while walking away "I have a toddler too!". He was rude. I was surprised by his attitude. I think this establishment is understaffed and yes there is a heatwave. Eric did bring the jambalaya out within a minute of me asking- which makes me believe it was ready earlier. Extremely disappointed in the service. No apology given and other than taking our order, he never came back to check on us or ask if we needed anything while we were waiting for the food or after food was finally brought over. Got dinner here on a Friday night. Place was pretty quiet so we got a table right away. We ordered some drinks and the grilled salmon and the pistachio crusted sea bass as mains. The sea bass was great, really buttery texture and perfectly cooked. Liked the lemon butter sauce as well. Salmon was topped with a mango salsa which was also good. Both dishes came with broccolini, mashed potatoes and red cabbage. Veggies were good, mashed potatoes could have been a bit creamier. If you're a baseball fan like me this place has an additional treat for you as it's full of memorabilia like signed jerseys and bats. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I would like to give it 5 stars, but I do feel it's a bit overpriced like many other restaurants in this area. read more

Decided to stop and grab lunch here after a day on the snow and we were so glad we did!! The restaurant was fairly empty upon arrival and it was just the bartender that was also our server. We all ordered our drinks and food (carne asada tacos, burger/fries, and chicken tenders/fries). Everything was fantastic. My son said his chicken tenders were the best he's ever had lol. Our server was really nice and came by often. We didn't know that there were two sides to Toomey's - seems like one is an order at the counter, grab and go side and the other side is the sit-down restaurant/bar area. Probably one of the best dog friendly spots I've been too! We were able to bring our dog and sit inside instead of most places we have to sit outside - came in the winter so this helped a ton! Ordered the baked brie 4/5 great app if you want something sweet/savory. Bison meatloaf 4/5. This was super hearty, really filled me up plus extra to go home. Only downside was wish it came with more gravy. The Brussel sprouts that it came with were 5/5, not bitter at all. Our waitress was also really great! Second time here. First was in 2011, I think the place had just opened. Looked the same today, maybe the same tables too? I got a cup of cream od mushroom soup for $11, and the crab cakes (2 small'ish) over a very large salad for $27. The salad and soup were very good. Our waiter was great and we sat by the window. This was our first time to Toomey's and what a delight! Our waiter Maddy was super kind and attentive took our dinner order promptly with a smile. I ordered the pork chop and my partner ordered the elk chops. The pork chop was cooked perfectly with a beautiful rosemary and mustard crust and a delicious fruit compote. It was the one of the best pork chops I have ever had! My boyfriend's elk chops were also cooked perfectly and super tender. The owner also came out and said hello and made us feel at home. One of the most delicious meals we've had in Mammoth priced much lower than the majority of restaurants in this area. We had the pork chops with berry glaze, buffalo meat loaf (tender, tasty and grilled like a steak) and salmon. We lost cities and honestly with the baseball decorations almost didn't go in, but because the meals look so good on, we decided to give it a try and we are so glad we did. The sides were all delicious and cooked al dente: baby broccoli and red cabbage, with mashed potatoes. A lot of the restaurants in the Mammoth ski village only have decent reviews, oftentimes because they are overpriced or have long waits or only average tasting food. We were staying really close to the village and wanted to do dinner somewhere that was walking distance, so I was looking up all the possible options. What caught my eye with Toomey's is that they are dog-friendly, even inside the restaurant! We were so excited to bring our dog with us for dinner so he could be with us in a warm place and not have to stay at our condo alone. Our server, Kevin, was extremely friendly and personable. He even brought out a water bowl for our dog! The interior has an odd seafoam green paint job on all the walls, looks like it has been that way for forever. It's more of a sports bar vibe on the inside but the menu does not consist of matching pub style food like you'd expect; they actually have some nice dishes that are more characteristic of a formal dinner restaurant. Prices are on the higher side, but that is to be expected in a ski village. Plus you at least get large portions here which is nice. We split a bowl of the clam chowder to start, they even divided it up into two separate cups for us which was really nice. I got the ribs for my meal and my husband got the buffalo meatloaf. The ribs were covered in a blackberry BBQ sauce which was actually really good. I wish it came with a little less sauce and that the ribs were more tender, but overall I was still pleased! My husband usually doesn't care for meatloaf but was intrigued by this one being made with lean buffalo meat. He ended up really liking it! We were both satisfied with our meals, everything was good but we didn't feel like it deserved 5 stars which we usually give to places that exceed our expectations. We will probably come back again next time we are in Mammoth, largely because of how dog-friendly they are compared to several other places in the village! read more

It was perfect for my friend joji and gobbles, they were seated on each other's laps. I'm so glad dogs are not allowed because my friend gobbles is deathly scared of dogs. The restaurant provides transportation anywhere in the world which is perfect because gobbles can't ride a bike. joji just ordered a coke because he was there for the experience and he was able to get 2-3 free refills. Last time we came to Mammoth Lakes, we came to Toomey's but we sat in their big dining room. It was fancy, food was great , service superb. It really hit the spot. This time we came to their "cafe". A super nice young lady helped us. She explained the menu and made suggestions. She even brought me a side salad of Caesar without it being on the menu. The dressing was fantastic. My wife got the same salad with tuna added to it. I got to eat her leftover and that salmon was goooooood. Didn't smell fishy and it was cooked perfectly. A young man was the chef. He knew how to cook. I got the fish taco. I got two whole pieces of fish. It was delicious and the portions were BIG. This is good and bad.
