On a whim I decided to give this place a try while I was in Arlington. I ordered the pork soup dumplings and wonton soup for delivery. The soup dumplings were tasty however a little chewy. I think they would be better if I ate in the restaurant. The wonton soup broth had a taste of seaweed. Since I'm. It a fan, I added chicken stock and soy sauce to balance out the seaweed taste. Main: Shanghai soup dumplings Chicken shiitake potstickers - clearly my favorite. Will order this again and even ordered another to go for lunch the next day. Totally yummy. I've heard lots of good things about this place and its prime location near the Clarendon metro station made it easy to access. Seating wise there was adequate seating both inside and outside. Now for the food: I got the scallion pancakes and veggie lover dumplings. As a vegetarian I was pretty surprised at how many veggie options there were. The scallion pancakes albeit a bit oily, were full of flavor and tasted great when paired with the soy sauce and chili oil. The veggie lover dumplings came in a good portion (pictured) and they were good but nothing special. The service was incredibly fast and the staff was really nice! We started with the organic cucumber salad and chengdu chili oil wontons from the appetizer section which were so delicious. The sauce for both of them were really good. Service was nonexistent--did not clean plates out of the way and it took 30 minutes after finishing food to get checks. Server came to check on table once. Food was overall pretty good. Though it got cold due to the lack of organization in the order they were served. Black truffle wagyu beef dumplings seemed to be emphasized as their "specialty" on social media platforms but I could not taste any truffle nor were there any difference in the beef taste/texture/quality. First and last time for a buffet brunch of dumplings. The food was okay, but the Dan Dan noodles tasted off. The portions were definitely small for a party of 4. Only 6 items could be ordered at a time, and drinks counted toward that limit. One portion came with 2 pcs dumplings, even though we were a party of 4, and we couldn't order crepes after 2:30 pm, which was disappointing. I saw service was automatically included for parties of 5 or more on the menu, but they charged us regardless of our party size of 4. It wasn't all bad; the restaurant looks nice and clean, and my server wasn't bad. But I don't think it's worth the money; we'd rather go somewhere else to spend $235 with tip included. Tried the AYCE brunch. They no longer offer the $5 unlimited drinks add-on, but they offered $1 mimosa instead. Other drinks are regular price, I think. Most of the food was actually quite good. The Dan Dan noodles was (almost) full size and it was a little bit spicy but not overwhelming. It was probably my favorite out of everything we tried. The signature dumpling was also good. We tried various dumplings and they were all pretty good. The cucumber salad was also decent. I like that everything is in smaller portions (except the Dan Dan noodles) so you get to try a bit of everything. The shrimp/pork har gao was not that great. It was mushy. The siu mai was alright, but my husband said it's missing the "unique" taste. The soy milk was a bit too sweet for me. The sesame cold noodle was not bad. My husband didn't like it as much coz it was probably kept cold in the fridge, so the sesame sauce was chunky. We were quite full coz of the noodles and didn't get to try half of the menu. Wow! This definitely lives up to the hype. I went to Tiger Dumpling with two of my friends to try out this place as it was trending all over through my friends feeds on Instagram/Facebook so I had to check it out. If there's anything I can say first, is the parking actually sucks here. I'm sure street parking is the best option or even the parking lots but a two hour limit for street parking? I don't know. I feel like Clarendon has a lot of places within walking distance where I could be bar hopping or just visiting place to place. It's very convenient if you like to knock 2-3 places for your reviews like me. So walking inside, we were immediately seated after being put on wait for a good hour or so. This place screams modern with many tables and booths all around. Since it recently opened it's very modern-chic looking and I can say it's great to be around especially if it's during dinner. Perfect for dates I'm sure. Our server came to us after we struggled with a good minute to figure out what we wanted ( pretty much the whole menu because we were hungry ) but we insisted in getting the ones the server recommended. So we just went with that. We were off on our culinary adventure with Dan Dan Noodles and Chicken Fried Rice. We also got served this radish dish and I guess it's a way to cleanse your palette? It wasn't bad either! They came out really fast like minutes after we ordered so that was a big surprise! We also got the rest of our food as well minutes after. We got the Pork Chive Dumpling, Tiger Signature Dumplings, Spicy Pork Soup Dumplings, and Shanghai Soup Dumplings. A feast for the gods because we were extremely hungry that night. I'll be reviewing each item as I want to write a lot about each item. Dan Dan Noodles: Spicy Noodles that contained minced pork, scallions, and just enough chili oil to have a really good kick. It wasn't really spicy at all but the noodles were dangerously delicious and I think it's worth ordering. Portion wise it's great for one or two people. One of my favorite dishes here! Chicken Fried Rice: Standard Fare Fried Rice with bits of Cooked Chicken, Peas, Carrots, and Egg! This was good too but I don't really have much to say as it was good for one person but I definitely think it's not that flavorful. Add some chili oil for an extra kick. Pork Chive Dumpling: My friend couldn't eat the dumplings with seafood in it so he opted for this. Savory bite size pieces filled with chives and ground pork then steamed to perfection. This is very juicy and when paired with soy sauce, it's a delight in your mouth. Tiger Signature Dumpling: Honestly the best dumpling and it was just the right amount of filling of pork and shrimp inside. Every bite was just perfect, and it left me wanting more. If I were to go back, I would easily order this any time I visit again. Spicy Pork Soup Dumplings: Honestly a bit disappointing because the broth wasn't even spicy to my tastebuds so I had to use Chili Oil. That made it actually enjoyable to eat. The meat inside was good too, especially if you like pork. I wouldn't get this again though. Shanghai Soup Dumplings: This was really good, but I don't think the soup was that good? Same as the other soup dumpling, I just added chili oil and it enhanced the flavor of this dumpling. It was very good and I'd probably get it once more. After eating so much, it was very much a well deserved food trip here. I think Clarendon has a lot to offer and I hope to be back! I won't miss the parking though. read more

Since this place has "dumplings" in the name, we decided to try their main dumpling dishes! Specifically, the "Chicken Soup Dumplings" (not pictured) and the "Tiger Signature Pot Stickers". We wanted the "Tiger Signature Soup Dumplings" originally, but they ran out, so we got the chicken ones instead, and they were still pretty good! A solid soup dumpling option. As for the latter, the texture was interesting... it was LITERALLY fried to the point that it stuck to the pot. It took a bit of getting used to (the fried-ness and oil), but it was still a good dumpling. I think the highlight of this place though were the desserts! The "Peach Oolong Ice Cream" was very refreshing, and I loved the "Coconut Mini Sago"! Very nice and sweet -- classic Asian desserts. The service was pretty good, but expect long waits. We went on a weekday, and it still took us 30 minutes. Luckily, "Tiger Sugar" is in a good area, so you can walk around! The ambiance is nice. The interior is very modern and cute with a variety of tables and booths. Service was nice and attentive (lots of runners/water re-fillers/bussers), but had a few awkward interactions with our main server. The food comes out very quickly, so that was nice. FOOD: ~Thai tea (4/5): was well balanced and not too sweet ~Five spice marinated beef shank (3/5): didn't expect it to be a cold dish, but had a good meaty taste but needed a little seasoning. The meat was tender though ~Shanghai braised roast duck (3/5): sauce flavor was good, but wish there was more to dip/add, as needed. You won't get the most authentic or price-efficient Chinese food here, but it does its job quite well and I'd definitely come back for their steamed dumplings and potstickers. If you are driving to Tiger Dumplings, you may have a hard time finding a place to park, FYI. My friends and I stopped by a couple Saturdays ago for dinner. This was my first time here and I was amazed by how lively and busy the restaurant was. Our server was attentive and our food came out at a reasonable amount of time. SHRIMP WONTON SOUP / 虾肉馄饨汤 (6) - 5.95 Each bowl of soup (personal sized) comes with 6 wontons, garnished with green onions and cilantro. The shrimp wontons were small yet juicy and flavorful. The broth was light and warming. My friend got the pork wonton version and you can't go wrong with that one either. TIGER SIGNATURE DUMPLINGS / 特色三鲜水饺 - 12.95 Each order comes with 8 steamed dumplings. These were not as memorable as I'd like, but they have a blend of pork and shrimp in each one. Maybe chives, too? PORK CHIVE DUMPLINGS / 韭菜猪肉饺 - 11.95 This is a classic. The chive flavor was strong and went well with the pork. I enjoyed these the most out of the three steamed dumplings we tried. I would recommend these here. PORK CABBAGE DUMPLINGS / 白菜猪肉饺 - 11.95 The cabbage felt pretty boring in these, but I ate them anyway. I'm usually a pork and cabbage dumplings fan, the flavor for the dumplings here were decent, but nothing to write home about. TIGER SIGNATURE POT STICKERS / 特色三鲜锅贴 (10) - 12.95 The potstickers here are very nicely panfried and a perfect bite-size! I don't remember too much about the flavors, but thought the crispiness of the skin was hard to beat. I would recommend giving this a try. Dim Sum is always so much fun. You get to try so many delicious little bites. And, when the meal is all you can eat - well - a whole menu is there to explore! We had a great brunch at Tiger Dumplings. We would politely request and plate after plate of tasty treats were graciously brought to the table. Each dish would be its own jewel on its own different piece of china. A seemingly endless parade of yum! Everything arrived quickly. And, if there weren't enough pieces for everyone at the table to try, we would just order one more please. We tried so many things: The scallion pancake which was nice and crisp and the lemon prawns, also crispy, with a tasty lemony sauce. One of our favorites was the tiger signature dumplings which really weren't spicy despite the pepper flakes floating in the sauce. The dan dan noodles was a very generous portion of very, very long noodles. The big challenge was in trying to transfer a sampling to your plate without taking the whole thing as everything seemed to be connected. The plum pork ribs and the port belly were saucy and tasty and one of those dishes that you may wish to order more than one because there are only two small ribs or one piece of pork belly per serving. Again, this is never an issue because when it is all you can eat - they will gladly bring you more. We had the pan fried pork buns and the bbq pork bao buns (again one per order fyi). The chicken shiitake dumplings and the hot mala pork dumplings rounded out our savory samplings. We really wanted to save room for dessert - so we stopped there though there were still many menu offerings to save for another time. On the sweet side, we enjoyed the lotus sesame balls and the paper red bean baos. The golden bread mandu were something we had never tried before and liked as well as the fried milk sticks and the brown sugar sweet rice cakes and the coconut mini. The dining space is very comfortable with large booths or tables. The music is upbeat but not too loud and, as mentioned, the service was super friends and great. It lacked flavor. Its probably better for meat eaters, but the vegetarian options were all lackluster. I tried 4: The dan dan noodles - not actually vegetarian with a little bit of ground pork ontop. We missed that since it is vegetarian at most restaurants. However, it really tasted like lo main with chili oil. Not a very complex sauce and very oily. Barely any added vegetables. Scallion Pancakes - the crisp was great, but it didn't have any flavor. Barely any scallions and a way too tiny portion of duck sauce. Personally, I think the frozen ones from Trader Joe's are better. Tofu Skin - we ordered this to add some protein to our meal since the vegetarian options lacked protein. Sadly, this was basically a bowl of cold boiled peanuts in sesame oil. Barely any tofu skins. Veggie Lovers Dumplings- this one is just false advertising. It filled with glass noodles and carrots. I'd call it the carb lovers dumpling... Maybe an edamame dumpling or adding tofu to this would make it a better vegetarian option. It also generally lacked flavor. read more

While this place is solid for dumpling cravings, as a Chinese person constantly disappointed in NoVa Chinese food, I'm realizing that some of the items tasting pretty inauthentic and overprocessed. Their noodle dishes have never really sat right with my stomach and are extremely oily. Every dish feels like they used store bought noodles and then put oily protein on top of it. read more

This is a nice dumpling spot in a semi odd spot in Clarendon. Easy to miss if you're not looking for it. The interior of this restaurant is really pretty, and is a great spot for a date. The servers are friendly and attentive. The dumplings are pretty dang good. We also tried the scallion pancake that was good, and the dan dan noodles which I thought was just okay. The aged vinegar they serve with the dumplings is incredible, definitely give that a try if your having dumplings read more

Absolutely loved the all you can eat dim sum. Even on a busy Saturday, service was quick.

WOW!! This place was so delicious, I can't even put it into words. We tried the Tiger Signature dumplings, chicken and shiitake, Shanghai soup, spicy pork soup, and the Beijing style noodle and every single thing was to die for. Flavor profile was off the charts! To drink we had the lychee refresher and the fire tiger. Both delicious but the lychee refresher was especially delicious. And the ambiance is cool. Great for a date night!
