Came in to grab food only to be turned away because our dogs didn't have "tags" and the bartender failed to know what exactly we needed to present to him. Yet, we had all of the dogs' documents on hand. Oh, by the way, he also denied service to my 9.5 month pregnant wife. More than likely won't be coming back any time soon. read more

Definitely not the kind of crowd that I would hang out with I felt like I was submerged in a old folks home. absolutely no tail to chase absolutely no females to look at look like a gathering of old men trading War stories... From the street view you might hesitate. It looks like a neighborhood bar where you might expect to get a few looks if you aren't a regular. On a Monday night the place was half full. The bartender was very friendly and served everyone drinks and food. I knew going in it was a dive bar and it lives up to that billing. The bartender poured a stiff drink so you can't really complain about that! Lots of beers and shots around with those small shot glasses from back in the day. I had a Casey's burger which was good. My wife had sliders which were actually a full burger cut into four pieces. That was pretty funny. The steak fries were hand cut and we brought most of them home. Sports on every television, a pool table and several electronic dart boards were there. I'm not sure I will rush back - it is fine but not the go to place for me. read more

Really deserves zero stars. The service we got tonight was absolutely abysmal. The two bartenders that work on Wednesday nights should be ashamed of themselves. They refused to serve us for 20 minutes and finally when we were served they gave us all grief about wanting to put one drink on a tab. I'm sorry but we owe no explanation for how many drinks we would like on one tab. Not to mention the disgusted looks and trouble they gave us about our IDs (we're all over 25). On top of this, they were reviewing one of our ID's with a customer which is completely inappropriate. We've been here a few times before and never received service like this before. The geriatric jerk of a bartender would not let us bring our ESA/Service dogs to the outside back patio so we could order food. He kept saying "they need tags". I said "rabies tags, name tags, ESA paperwork, service dog paperwork? What do you need? I will show it to you." He continued to just say "tags" over and over until people at the bar tried to intervene to see what this old senile man was trying to say. We left and won't be back. One of the first lunches I ever had in Stamford was at Casey's. i came in with a large group and sat in the back patio area. It would have been fantastic had it not been painfully hot outside. But hey I was not in charge of the group so I dealt with it. Our waitress greeted us in a thick brogue which I knew was a sign to order a Guinness. It was a good move as Casey's is one of the few bars that know hw to properly serve one. As for my lunch, I had the steak sandwich special. It was covered in mozzarella and fried onions and tasted great. The fried onions really made the sandiwich. Everything on the menu cost around $10 and considered the size of the sandwich you get I would say they are all worth it. Hopefully I will be able to drop by Casey's again. read more

Stopped in for dinner after finding it on Yelp. Went with the Irish breakfast which was fantastic. My plan was to eat dinner, have Guinness or two and Hoy some other Irish pubs listed on Yelp. I went here twice this past week - first on a tuesday where it was nice and mellow with some live music and then thursday after the Alive at Five festivities downtown and both times I was nothing short of impressed. Good beer selection, nice outdoor patio and on thursday night my group got the big sampler platter and i must say - simply amazing. the staff is super friendly and effcient and I love that this bar is actually more locals than it is the downtown element. Great for lunch, dinner, or a few drinks after work! Every meal I have had there has been fantastic. Service is a little laid back, but overall pretty decent. A solid bar outside of the buzz in downtown Stamford. Casey's is on a side street near pretty much nothing else. Parking can be a little annoying, but it's ok. Not exactly the type of bar to go watch a game as the TVs are not great and are a bit too high (old school hospital style). Best nights are Thursday-Saturday. Saturdays (starting around 7) during the summer this place is great. Try the Irish breakfast if you are not on a diet. read more

I have been to Casey's Tavern a few times for different work happy hours and they have always been great. The service has been very attentive and quick even when I and the co-workers mob half of the establishment! When the weather is nice there is a small back patio which is great to unwind on and when it is cold you can hang out inside and play darts or pool. An all around good place for a low key happy hour! read more

This place is more of a towny bar, but is still REALLY good. It's right around the corner from my house. I wish they had more beers on tap, but the selection they have is adequate. Not too rowdy. They often have live music of some sort. Most of the time if you are there drinking for a while one of the bartenders (Mary, Seamus--the owner--etc.) will buy you a round. REAL nice folks. Where this place REALLY shines, though, is in the food. GREAT food! Seriously, never had a bad experience. The Casey's Burger is really good, but my favorite is the Buffalo-Chicken Club. This place I found on yelp and it was a little tough finding street parking, however I like local hangouts and it was a good fit. They had a dart league on Tuesday which was fine. It is a little small but they have a nice outdoor patio in the back. The owner jamison is an owner operator, I believe he lives upstairs and is one of the bartenders. It's more of a bar then a restaurant but they had great food and great service. They employees were polite but not brown noses which fits in for a local gem. I'd hang here if I live in the area. Tuesday they had a salad and you choice of draft beer with Shepard pie as the entree and it was excellent. Only 15$ for the whole combo! Will be back next time in the area read more
