First of all, I was there 30 mins before the closing time for a ToGo order, so do keep that in kind before reading the rest of the review. I am a huge fan of Taco Tuesdays and tijuana flats. Been to numerous Tflats but my experience at this Tflats was dissapointing and non satisfactory. The server/hostess looked like she hated her life and wanted to quit. No smile or welcome. In fact, she had a grumpy face and annoyance in her attitude. The tacos were soggy (note, it's a 5 min drive to my house, hence "togo" should not a reason for it) and we're half empty. I have been to other Tflats a minute before closing time and have had better service. I do believe that it may be due to closing time and hence I will definitely give them another shot. But keep in mind, DO NOT GO HERE 30 MINS BEFORE CLOSING TIME, the servers will crush you with their horrifying stares. P.s. the manager did approach us with a pleasant smile. read more

OMG: Let me start by saying that this was my husband and I 1st time ever going to Tijuana Flats. We received help with finding out what was especially good from the cashier. So we ordered our food and sat down. We were enjoying the live music and the scenery, just to do something different that we never had before. So as we are sitting there eating and was about readg to go, I asked the cashier lady for a togo box. She gave it to me, so as I xfering my food to the box, the damn musician guy is walking in our direction, my husband sitting beside me, the musician guy reaches past my husband, into my plate and almost took a chip. My husband jumped up so fast the musician dude was like " Dude, Im sorry, I was just playing." We were livid, but I had to stop my husband from swinging on this man as we were the ONLY black folk in there. So the musician guy went outside to his instruments. He saw us still talking about it, so he came back in to apologize. I told him that he needed to pay for my food. He gave my husband attitude at 1st, but ended up giving us 10 dol. How about the manager never came out, and we was there a good 15 min after the incident. I went to the restroom and everything. It wasnt until we left and called back that is when we spoke to Andy. I like this location because you can sit outside and I love having a beer with my taco. We usually get tacos, a salad or enchiladas. The staff is nice and friendly - and when the wind blew and an umbrella and it landed on me they felt bad and gave us free beer. And whoever came up with the cookie dough flautas should get a raise! The food is typically fresh - there have been a few times I have been less than thrilled - I find that when you go after 9:30 PM they are less accommodating since they want to close up and go home. I get that - BUT you are OPEN until 10 so suck it up. And since the late night dining in the area is slim pickings it would be nice if they were open later - at least on the weekends. We recently ordered chimichangas to go and they were inedible. Since we were at home and it was after they closed before we discovered the soggy greasy mess we went without dinner. I took it back the next day and the manager on duty was like a deer caught in the headlights he didn't really know what to do since "he didn't work last night". I thought that was an odd response. I went here for the first time about a week ago, and it was okay. The location/decor is nice. This location had a very chill atmosphere where you can bring your friends or your family. The best thing about Tijuana Flats is their sauce bar: they have a huge selection of different sauces, ranging from sweet to extremely hot (apparently one of their sauces has ghost chili peppers in it....yikes!). The people working there were really nice, and the food came quickly. But then we get to why I gave this restuarant a 2/5. This is because of the food itself. The food is pretty bland and very simple, something that you can easily make at home rather than go out and order it. I got the 2 tacos and the side of "nachos"- notice that I used quotation marks. The side of "nachos" that comes with almost every order are just bland, not fresh tortilla chips with NOTHING on top. They dont put any cheese or veggies on top- just....chips. If you want something on your nachos, they charge you a dollar or so extra for equally bland, melted cheese. My older brother described it best: the only reason why you'd ever go is for their sauces. That's it. It's literally no wonder that they have a wide selection of sauces; their food is boring! The only way I'd go back is to buy a bottle of one of their sauces. read more

I'm a fan of Tijuana Flats overall. This location, and it pains me to write this since it is the closest to my house, is my least favorite. My order has been incorrect on several occasions, I've been served cold food, and they skimp on fillings. I usually go out of my way to the Aloma Avenue location now. Sometimes it's a hit or miss with the service. Most of the girls that work there look like they hate their jobs and just want to be elsewhere. It's rare that someone comes by to get refills or even take our trash out of the way. It really just depends who is working at the time. I know working in a restaurant sucks I did it for 5 years but atleast do your basic job requirements. read more

Being from up north, we don't have Tijuana flats so when I am in Florida it's one of favorite quick places to eat. I've been to this location many times over and over and each meal was exceptional in both service, atmosphere and deliciousness! My food is always cooked to perfection. Sometimes it may be a little of a wait but nothing complaining worthy at all. The food is good but the staff keeps me going back to this location specifically. I even go out of my way for this location specifically for the staff. Everyone there is always super friendly and welcoming to me and I'm never without someone's help for more than a few minutes. There is one young girl in particular that always makes my visits perfect. She's a short young blonde, I believe her name to be Tori or Tammy. Every time I am there she is nothing but respectful and courteous to me and my family whenever we're there. I recommend asking for her! Keep up the good work! read more

I am going to keep this fairly brief. I have been eating at Tijuana Flats for many years. I have eaten at the University Blvd, Sanford, Lake Mary, Orange Ave and Colonial drive locations many, many times. This chain used to have great food but it has, for quite a while, gone way down in terms of quality and quantity. I had a couple of chicken tacos and some guacamole here last night and there was so little chicken on the tacos it was really pathetic. What chicken there was had no flavor and the lettuce and tomatoe was just sad. The guacamole had way too much lime juice in it and wasn't very fresh. The hot sauce bar has had the same too sweet or too vinegary tasting selections for years now. I used to frequent the Orange ave and Colonial drive locations often but there food has declined as well. I thought maybe a different location would be better but it was actually worse. Service was okay, not great but not terrible. Anyway, I am done with this chain and won't waste my time with them again. So sad, they used to be really good. read more

I went to eat dinner here last night with some friends. The food is always on point and we decided to eat outside on their patio. There were two tables that had dogs with them so they are pet friendly. They even brought out a water bowl and treats to the dog outside. The only complaint I have is about the lack of trash receptacles outside and even inside. I couldn't find any so I left everything on the table. Gotta write a review on this location, in all my visits I've consistently had good food and great service each time. This location is close to my other halfs place so lately we've been dining here about once every two weeks or so. It's always tasty food at a good value. The staff now knows us on a first name basis and certain members always make it a point to say hi. Free refills are always standard here, but the staff does this in such a polite and upbeat way which is as refreshing as the drink ( ; Tuesdays is their good two taco deal. Any variety of the tacos I've tried ( chicken, beef, refried, black beans etc) have all been excellent. I'm a hot sauce freak so the sauce bar is a big excitement for me too. I've tried the enchiladas here once, but honestly I've had better although they weren't bad. My partner gets the chicken/ taco salad with the citrus vinaigrette dressing and loves it. Tijuana Flats is as good as it gets. In high school, we used to hang out at the one over on Aloma in Winter Park. In college, we dominated the Tallahassee location that opened our junior year. Now that we are back in Orlando, the Casselberry location is the most convenient. Same great menu as all the other Tijuana's. I love the hot sauce bar. So many to sample and test out. They are all good and you can put them on anything you order. The people that work there are always really nice and I like how they bring your food out to you, and they say your name. The decor and layout of any Tijuana is memorable and colorful. You have to try Tijuana Flats if you haven't already, and you should go back if you haven't been in a while. Very disappointing. First, while ordering I was asked 3 times to donate to a charity. Then after ordering at the register I was expected to tip. For what? For taking my order? Ridiculous. The food is mediocre at best. I was hard pressed to find any meat in my beef and bean tacos. Mostly refrained beans, rice, and pico. The tacos were greasy on the bottom and generally lacked much flavor at all. There was about 2 lbs. of chips brought to us with what appeared to be pre-made guacamole still in it's original plastic container with just the lid removed before serving. Every time we visit this location the food and staff are just awesome. Staff constantly attend to your needs even though it's fast casual, and the managers always stop by to check in. We love the variety of sauces on the hot bar (though I do wish Mongo would make an appearance more often!!) and the food is always great. For fast Tex-Mex on the cheap, you can beat TFlats! I am a fan of their Smack My Sweet A** and Call Me Sally sauce, that is always a given during every visit. We generally order online in advance and go through the pick up lane to bring our meal home to eat. Most times, if there is a car in front of us, waiting and waiting and waiting on their food...while we can see our food sitting there and waiting for us, we have to continue sitting there and wait. Yesterday, the server actually paid attention and asked the other car to pull forward. We were amazed! We actually got our food home while it was mostly still warm. However, don't bother ordering double anything (like double black beans), if you take it to go - you will never get it. Not once out of 7 times. We finally stopped ordering it and paying the extra $2 but thought we would give that another try last night and once again we were duped. If you order it when in the restaurant, you are good, but never through call-ahead where you don't actually open up your order to make sure it's there. Taste wise - most everything tastes the same to us, since it's all made with the same basic ingredients. We do tend to order black bean nachos, a chicken burrito, and a chicken/black bean burrito along with chips and queso. The seasoning on their chips, when there is enough seasoning, is so good! It may be just salt and pepper, but it makes the chip. Recently I ordered a norrito bowl, which according to their website's nutritional info it comes with pico, chives, and guac However when you order online, none of that is listed on the norrito when you order it - so I got home and it had no pico or chives, but had the normal toppings + guac.
